ok so here is the thing about Kitty's background, the idea to include some cloak and dagger did occur to me, at the GM pleasure Charlie (when he left the Cereal Killers for a short time sue to the kitty and Jill mishap) could have "sold" out information on a job the gang was going to pull, Kitty was supposed to be running it, but Sam took it instead, black IC bla bla bla, Kitty does not know this but you can use it further into the game if it pleases you (and provides for a plausible reason why they did not help take care of Samantha, there could have been a power struggle inside the Cereal Killers, with Samantha biding for more power, when she gets fried the leadership and the gang just shrugs it off and leaves her out to dry)

What, exactly ARE the rumors that have been spread about slim by his former gang?

Would you guys consider a rumor that Slim and the gang boss were brokering a deal for a bunraku parlor against the wishes of most of the gang sufficient for him having a bad rep?
It would be a specific rumor, fits with the gang being in Yakuza territory and would be a plausible explanation for the change in leadership.
Aren't there a few too many ganger-turned-runner backstories out there for that to be a reason for a Bad Rep (capital letters intentional).  Although Poindexter made some good points, Firearms 5 does not happen by running around shooting finger pistols and saying pew pew and gangs are involved in some pretty violent and nasty things.

A burly ork in his late twenties whos preferred weapons are spiked knucks and a machete. His desire to grow the gang by getting in deeper with the Yakuza was a bone of contention between him and Rhino and eventually what triggered his violent takeover of the gang.  Cadillac has brought more brutality into the gang's operations (not that they were boyscouts to begin with) dealing harshly with those who fall behind on protection fees, prostitutes try to keep a some extra nuyen for themselves, etc.

Lieutenants:
- Albert "Mr. Jennings" Jennings (Human, Sergeant-at-Arms, Gun Nut (Automatics))
Mr. Jennings believes that "Spray and pray" is a myth.  More bullets downrange is always a good thing. Big fan of the AK97s and generally never carries a weapon that doesn't have FA capability.
- Jill "Agent Zero" Barnes (Human, Intelligence officer, Decker)
Only remaining member of the brass that served under Rhino which is an indication of her skill but also how little she cares about who actually runs the gang.  Agent Zero was perfectly satisfied to stay neutral during the power struggle.
- Joe "Jellybean" Bryant (Ork, Vice-President, Bruiser)
Cadillac's right hand man, absolutely loyal to him. Jellybean favours shotguns, clubs and acting rather than thinking.  He has a serious kink for elf girls.
- Robert "Bobby D" Drusan (Elf, Secretary, Face/(Aspected shaman?))
Sleazy and untrustworthy, Bobby D seems to have no morals what-so-ever.  Hasn't come back to bite him in the ass as he is very good at telling people what they want to hear.  Often the first wave when someone needs to be pressured, has a seriously nasty imagination when it comes to making threats while Jellybean doesn't have enough imagination to not act out those threats when given the go by Cadillac.

Other members if they need to randomly come up in play: Stretch, Sleepy, Big Dog, Brick, Blue, Hammer, Hondo, Czech.

Rumor other runners/NPCs who have gang connections (or their ear to the rumor mills) might have heard about Slim:
Slim was brokering a deal with the Yakuza for opening a Bunraku parlor in the Dolly Sisters' turf which would be under their protection and supervised by Slim himself.  This was a deal that Slim and Rhino were pushing through against the wishes of most of the gang and was the reason for Cadillac making his move.  Now Cadillac is trying to appease the Yaks by offering them other services than a bunraku operation.

Regarding character connections, both Kitty and DuckDown have gang knowledge skills so the should definitely have heard of Slim.  In addition to that Kitty has a fences knowledge so she could also have knowledge of Slim through his contact in the Crime Mall.
Don't really know how Trance and Cheshire would know Slim other than having heard the rumor.

I have been trying to figure out how Trance could know the team and it occurred to me that she probably doesn't; she might be an outside contractor brought in by a Johnson or recommended by a fixer who knows her fixer. Which would mean she would have the most to prove.

I think my older sister used to date Cadillac, so i know he's a piece of shit through her, but that doesn't mean i know slim ISN'T a piece of shit. If anything, it might make me think even less of him, cause he used to hang out with THAT asshole.

Thanks, yeah this could open up some interesting stuff and would be fair to effect his dicepool, limit or even both depending on situations.  She could also have dated Jellybean instead so that you wouldn't have as good a handle on from what kind of dude this rumor is originating.  And I do not know what kind of sadism it is that I'm suggesting things to make life even harder for the poor bastard

I'm glad to see you guys taking the initiative and talking about this now I am a little tied up tonight, been out with friends having a few beers and some rugby league to watch tonight.

I've nearly finished the first post for the IC thread, I'm taking your backgrounds, etc in to consideration and have been tailoring the game to suit. I'm really hoping all works well! We have a nice mix of players and you've given me a lot to work with. We may even be able to stat this game in the next 2-3 days if I can find enough time, so long as you are all keen.

@Celtibero can I get Kitty's character sheet posted up in this thread when you get a sec?

@reyjinn it's possible the rumors spread were as simple as you were a snitch? Working with local enforcement or even a rival gang to bring your old gang down. That itself if huge blow to your credibility in gang culture. I am happy to write up a gang for you if you like. Though I'd be thinking something along the lines of a biker gang, focusing on weapon procurement and general street thuggery (protection money, drugs, extortion) Perhaps The Mongrels, a predominantly troll, ork biker gang, trying to work their way to the big time. Snitches get stitches, don'tcha know? Their bike of choice is the Scorpion, they are kitted out in black leather, the image of a rabid pitbull emblazoned on the back of their jackets. I'm more than welcome to other suggestions. There may also be a lot of animosity toward you for being elf, perhaps the reason you were pushed out when Rhino lost control. "We don't need do damn dandelion eaters negotiating on our behalf"

Thanks for the offer.  I've actually put the gang info and rumor (dealing with Yakuza to start a bunraku parlor) in a post that is about 5 posts up from yours.  Unless something sticks out for you that you would like me to change?  Would you like me to edit the char sheet post to add all that info in there as well to keep it all in one place?
