I just wanted to point out...

I may make assumptions on the game we're playing. I GM a SR5 tabletop game where I am and have made some assumptions about the setting to fill some gaps. These are most certainly up for interpretation. What I said about messaging commlinks is not listed in the book. It is extrapolated for some things to make sense. Also, bridging to a commlink is based on slaving devices and the threads about Technomancers accessing devices over UNC. These are completely up for interpretation though and if Kalarin or anyone feels they are not right, Kalarin's word is law.

If your interpretations are different, I would LOVE to hear them. It is always nice to hear someone else's point of view.

It seems logical to me that commlinks would basically have an "open" channel that you would have to purposefully close off ( i.e. running silent), otherwise businesses wouldn't be able to do the kind of targeted marketing to people walking down the street that I get the impression is going on.  I figure it's basically the same effect - instead of a business sending you a virtual flier for whatever product you're likely to buy being on sale, it's just a person sending a text message through that open channel.
