Cyber-tails existed in previous editions- in 4th edition they gave +2 on tests involving balance, and +1 body for determining knockdown, though in 5th, since knockdown is determined by physical limit, so for 5th that should prolly be changed to your physical limit is one higher when determining knockdown. You could also install a cyber eye at the end of it, which seems creepy.

Hmm sounds interesting but what do you think the essence cost would be N since the adept would lose some magic sure to the loss right again i'm a noob I don't quite grasp how that would work. For instance if it was a 1essence cost that would drop my magic cap but id I already have adept powers would I loose some because of that?

Well, in 4th edition, the tail cost 0.5 essence, but yeah, any essence loss at all will cause you to lose a point of magic and thus the associated powers. So losing 0.5 essence will knock you down a magic point, but at that point, you can lose another 0.5 of essence to bioware/cyberware before you lose another point of magic.

Sorry to ressurrect this dead thread, but I somehow missed it when it was living.

At my table we have allowed the use of a custom body modification that I found somewhere on the web years ago called "Astral Graphs". Essentially, for $100,000 you get this mana-infused skin grafted to your own. The end result is that it adds back 0.1 Essence. You can only do this a maxium of 5 times and does not permit you to go over your maximum of 6.

We also ruled that if you pay for the graphs at the same time you get your cyberware, you wont lose your magic/resonance rating as a result, provided the Essence loss would have been less than the total bonus of the graphs you were installing. Its a bit 'OP' for some people, but if you are interested it could be useful.

Astral Skin Graphs
Essence: +0.1 / level
Availability: 18F
Cost: ¥100,000 each treatment
Astral Skin Graphs are the pinnacle of some of the newest technology to hit the streets. In the long struggle to merge bioengineering and magic, there have been painfully few successes - this is one of them. By grafting specially cultivated thin tissue under the skin of the subjects torso and appendages, the link between the user's astral spirit and physical self is strengthened. This can give cyberware users that "edge" they've been lacking by allowing them to accept a small amount of additional cyberware beyond what they could normally handle. This is particularly desired by mage-types who have been forced to replace limbs or other appendages, allowing for their life essence to return to normal. For each rating of this mod, +0.1 Essence regeneration is achieved, not to exceed a maximum Essence of 6. This modification is capped at 5 total levels.
