Excuse me, no range modifier, weak glare (Unless you have flare comp, in which case no glare), and light winds which in total is -2 (-1 w/flare comp)

They aren't saying anything. It's a pretty tense silence.

Are the Firewatch members running commlinks in Active or Passive mode (automatic success if they are)? If they are, he'll send them the UCAS Army equivalent of a "Flash / Thunder" IFF check, along with a standard UCAS Army go/no go code for if they are in trouble.

If they aren't, Marcus doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of spotting them, so he'll verbalize the challenge instead to see what kind of reaction that gets out of people.

Quote from: Dice Rolls
Remembering how the Firewatch issue Identify Friend Foe challenges and responses, as well as code words for if they are in distress
Knowledge Skill: Military Tactics: 9d6t5 5

Infiltrating into position in cover:
Infiltration: Moving into cover with weapon drawn: 10d6t5 6
Sneaky!

If Marcus has time for it, he will line up a shot on the closest Borg (one Combat Turn worth of Take Aim i.e. 2 Simple Actions over 3 seconds), and prepare to use a free action to send a message / shout out the IFF challenge and distress codeword(s). If anyone responds with a confirmation that they are in trouble, Marcus will take the shot. If not he'll fade away into the closest nearby alley and not disrupt whatever operation they are running...

Yes, they are running an active signal. It stops for a moment as they get your code word. You can see the Ares guys kind of look at each other and you receive the correct code word back. Not one second later you get the Go code to engage. You have managed to sneak beside a packed snow bank. Its not much cover, but it'll keep you concealed well enough.

Just moving these here to reduce clutter in the IC thread.

Perception(Camera 6 + Perception 1 + Attention Coproccesor 10d6t5 5

Capture Wireless Signal(Radio Signal Scanner 6 + Electronic Warfare 3) 9d6t5 1, 2, 3
Took 3 complex actions to finally roll 3 hits.

Anechka is just going to keep observing the situation for now.

There we are, shots fired. ^^

I think I should have used my edge on it.
Concepts are great, but implementation sucks. Why not improve it?

It comes from Gun heaven 3,

7p, -1 AP, SS No recoil comp, 5 (m) 5R 950

Extreme Environment - Artic, Imaging Sight w/ Lowlight, vision enhancement 2, and vision mag.
And I just realized that I bought Vision magnification for its scope even though it is already suppose to have that.

I've also added a Sling, internal silencer, internal smartgun system, and electronic firing.

Hehe, I guess that makes it time for Initiative, neh? Do we get to ambush them? I.e. do you want both Ambush and Initiative rolls?

Just in case...
Quote from: Dice Rolls
Ambush:
Surprise: Reaction 8 + Intuition 5 + Ambush 6: 19d6t5 5
Not too good with 19 dice, but oh well.

Initiative:
Initiative: 13d6t5+13 18

Ambush dice?

Ah I could roll somethings as well if needed before my shot takes place. I hope I didn't jump the gun there.

No, it's ok. You will go first Trisk, then Marcus then the very surprised Borgs and the (Thanks to Marcus) prepared Ares guys.

Sorry, rolled that wrong: Borg Defense against bullet to the head: 4d6t5 0

Still, there's no chance in hell he's going to dodge it. In fact, I'm not even sure if you roll defense against surprised enemies.

Anyways: Brain damage armor save: 5d6t5 3

You did, a little bit ;)

Normally, you should roll for surprise (page 165).

Boils down to this:
Everyone rolls a Surprise test (Reaction + Intuition).
All, some, or none of the combatants may get a chance to perceive something is going down; if they succeed at a Perception test (opposed or success, depending on GM) they get a +3 modifier to their roll.
If some of the combatants are Ambushing (i.e. laying in wait with a weapon readied), they get +6 to the roll.

Characters (PCs and NPCs both) cannot act against someone who scores higher on their Surprise roll than themselves. So, Marcus rolled a 5; if one of the Borgs rolled higher, Marcus wouldn't be able to act against that Borg until the next Initiative Pass.

EDIT:
Like Number 2 said, though; it's all good ;)

Just FYI.

Ah okay. Combat in both editions im still a bit new on, as somehow most games ive avoided combat
intuitive: 9d6 24

So plus nine gives me 33 init if im correct on thst that with two passes, right?

Not quite;

Initiative in SR4 is handled differently. You roll your Reaction + Intuition, then add the number of hits to the sum of your Reaction + Intuition. On the roll you linked, you got 1 hit (ouch) which adds to your 9, making your Initiative Score 10.

The number of Initiative Passes is determined by gear; Marcus is unaugmented in terms of initiative passes, so he only gets one, but he has a high reaction and intuition, and so will act on 18 in the next initiative pass if Number 2 will let us keep the rolls.

Marcus will fire at the closest bad guy; I just realized that I can't take consecutive take aim actions with the Ruger, so between flare comp, thermographics, and take aim, I don't think I have any negative modifiers due to wind (smartgun), visibility (thermographics and flare comp), and range (take aim). If I do, just take off dice as needed on the roll, Number 2, if you don't mind.

Quote from: Dice Rolls
Free Action: Call A Shot

Simple Action: Fire Weapon at closest Borg, called shot (-3) to increase DV (+3)
Simple Action: Fire Weapon: 10d6t5 1
Ouch, one hit. But, since they are unaware I'll take it.
6P base + 1 Net Hit + 3 Called Shot = 10P, -2 AP

Simple Action: Observe In Detail
Simple Action: Observe In Detail: 10d6t5 3
Trying to see what kind of weapons these guys are armed with, if any, and if the Ares guys are armed.

You don't have any negative modifiers Martinchaen (You're only like, 15 feet away). None of the men appear armed, but from what you saw from the last Borg in the way he had his hands, you figure that they have cyberweapons implanted into them.
