Hey folks!

I'm happy to announce the official release of my Shadowrun Cyberdeck Aid. Without further ado, download it here (free and without ads):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nuedge.Cyberdeck
(it is also available on the play store!)

What is it all about?
In essence this app is a companion for you and you Decker. It allows you to input your PCs relevant cyberdeck, attributes, skills, and qualities and provide you with the correct Die Pool and Limit for a selected Matrix Action. The app is split into three section:

  • User
In this section you can modify your PCs deck state. Change your decks Attack, Sleaze, Data Processing, and Firewall attributes. Switch on/off Running Silent mode. Change your interface mode (AR, Cold VR, Hot VR). It's all there.
  • Programs
Add and remove programs. These programs will modify each die pool for you, so you can set it and forget it!
  • Actions
This section has every action you can take on the Matrix (as specified by the rule book) and contains relevant information like Marks Required and action complexity! Here you select which action you want to take and it will pop up a Die Roller with the correct die pool and limit set for you. From there you can apply modifiers, or even use Edge to push the limit!

I want to shout-out to the beta testers that offered their time (they all came straight from the Shadowrun reddit community!):

/u/dresdenreader, /u/White_ghost, /u/shinjiryu, /u/brackenfur, /u/zadtheinhaler, /u/Omneya22, /u/Questions_Dentists, /u/6thsigma, /u/usagi2988, /u/daltsy, /u/pflinn, /u/Warmachinez, /u/Uberphantom, /u/digitalpacman, /u/kain2025, /u/COporkchop, /u/LockeFX, /u/Minotaar, /u/Orphanleni

This is just the first release! I have many more features planned for the features. If you liked the app please give it a review through the play store. As much as I would like to get 5's across the board, give your honest opinion; I want to hear from you!

If you really liked the app and want to support me, please considering donating through the donate menu in the app! Your support warms my programmer heart.

Well done. I like it that you added short descriptions of the effects of all matrix actions. For a newbie GM like myself it's going to be a good interactive cheat sheet, reducing the amount of paper/pdf shuffling.

Bravo!  This is really well done.  Nice clean lines, intuitive and uncluttered.  Now if I can get one of my players to play a hacker.  It will help me run a NPC hacker though.

I do have one report, not sure if it's a bug or not.  When I was entering character data (Skills and Atts) and went to adjust a number I had to use the Up/Down arrows and then click OK.  If I tried to use the number keypad that showed the number in the control but when I hit OK/Done either in the control or on the number keypad the value would not transfer.

Really nice! Any chance you're considering an iOS release?

Thanks for the kind words!

@Iridios
Why... yes that is a bug! Thanks for pointing it out. I just went into the code and took care of it. You'll see if fixed in the next patch! :D

@AJCarrington
Unfortunately, an iOS release may not be for some time. I don't have the jimmies to face iOS deveopment just yet, and there are a lot of things I want to do with the current android version. That may all change if I find a great tool to port java into objective-c!

I'm glad you guys enjoyed the app!

Thanks for the quick response, a little disappointing (as I only have iOS devices), but completely understandable. Hopefully the success of the app will "prompt" you to expand  :D

Keep up the work - looking forward to seeing what you can do with this.

I'm not sure what this would entail, but any chance this can get on the Kindle store?  I have a Kindle Fire, and I can't use the standard Google Play store to get stuff for it.

^ Thanks for the suggestion. I just submitted it to the Kindle store. I have no way of testing. But I hope it works! Let me know :)

Wow, this will be so handy for running NPC deckers.

Hope it shows up on the Kindle store soon - I use a PC emulator called BlueStacks and APKLeecher to get apks off the Google store for my Kindle usually, but it's not working this time around.

It's good work, and I suggested it to my Decker.

If you decide you want any assistance, I'm a software engineer and would be willing to donate time as it comes available (though I'm quite busy for the next few weeks due to backpacking trips)

I really really like this, but it doesn't seem to support Technomancers.
Any chance of adding Resonance, the ability to pick a "living persona" cyber deck, and adding the technomancer complex forms to the list of programs/skills/abilities?
I'm not much of a programmer, but it seems with the extremely awesome foundation you have already set up that it wouldn't be that hard to add what's needed to make this work with technomancers as well.

PS: I really like this app, keep up the good work!

Haha, you're absolutely right. Most of the time I spent on this app was foundation. I've been spending this week after release on bug fixes and support. Rigger/Technomancer support is up there on my list! So coming soon is all I have to say :)

This is so cool. Seriously.

I am waaaay more interested/confident in playing a decker with this at hand - I'm very visual and hands-on; I'm super excited about playing with the matrix now that I can see how it works in front of me.

Thanks, omae.
