@Ryo: Quick question: Are you saying to do it tomorrow? I think IC it's around 10:30PM. If so, given the season, we're probably going to have to figure out somewhere to put that body rather than the trunk of a car.

Oh, is it already the middle of the night? I must have missed that. Will edit.

I know I've been real quiet right now, just waiting for someone to discover Breeze's last will. Still getting used to this new style PBP, is really brief over on my other one.

Breeze's last will is up in the IC now.  I think we'll be ready to jump to the morning/afternoon shortly, when the team should be making contact.  I appreciate you standing by while this plays out.  I'm looking forward to getting everyone in a room together soon.

I've never written anything VR heavy before, so pardon me, if i seem dumb here, but what all steps need hopeless take to do as instructed? I know I need to form a persona and then... ?

You log into your commlink and you're in AR (you actually form a persona at that point in time). Then you switch into VR mode if you have the capability. You need DNI (which you have from your datajack) and a sim module (which you may not have). If you have a hot-sim enabled sim mod, you can be in hot-sim, otherwise you're in cold-sim. Even if you don't have VR capabilities, you can still do everything in AR, but your persona icon looks jerky and laggy to matrix users in VR. Hope that helps!

P.S. Awesome post R&B, very cool! I enjoyed the Total Recall call out, LOL

Bravo on that cinematic post.

And I PMed a list of possible characters I could play. Don't care which one, they're all good.

If the rest of the players want to chip in their opinions, there are four characters total.

1: A Social/Physical Adept.

2: A Decker/Demolitions specialist.

3: Tank/Combat Murder Troll.

4: Drone and Vehicle Rigger.

Before hopeless goes to sleep, he's gonna summon a force 1 air spirit and tell it to wake him up in a pleasant manner before he departs at dawn as it's only service.

Summon a windling: 6d6t5 4
Resist summoning: 1d6t5 1
resist drain: 5d6t5 2

take no drain, right?

I'll work all that into the next IC post.

4: Drone and Vehicle Rigger.

Tell me more about this fellow/lady, eh?

@Ryo: I feel like we "need" a combat dude, but we're such a fucking hodgepodge that any of those could be helpful (although saithor's TM should fill the Matrix void).

@Poindexter: Yeah, you're clear on drain. The problem, however, is that your hits on the summoning test are limited by the force of the spirit. So your 4 hits are limited to 1, and its 1 hit cancels that out, so the summoning failed. IMO it is stupid that it works that way, what with F1 spirits having one of the worst chances to successfully summon until you start getting to crazy Force spirits, but that's RAW. I personally would house-rule summoning limit to Astral limit,  but that's just me.

Oh wow, you're right. That makes it really hard to summon force 1 spirits. No matter how high your dicepool, you've got a 1 in 3 chance of failing. Hehehe. Well, i suppose i could use reagents, right? 2 drams would set my limit at 2 and then I'd still get the one service, right?

Yeah, that's pretty much the only way to guarantee a low force spirit. I've seen pro and con arguments concerning the way it currently works, but I don't find the pro arguments all that convincing.

4: Drone and Vehicle Rigger.

Tell me more about this fellow/lady, eh?

I'll just quote my PM directly.

Quote
4: The Rigger. Real name: Janet Smith. Street name: High Tail.

High Tail likes vehicles and drones more than she likes people, and is more likely to try and strike up a conversation with the Renraku Manservant tending bar than any of her fellow members of metahumanity. Highly logical and good with tools, but having a serious problem with authority and the expected lifestyle society wants for her. She could have been a great engineer, even went to school for it, and Ares was grooming her for a nice cushy desk job in a lab somewhere designing the next best thing. And sure, she enjoys the work, it's something she's good at, but she's the type that likes to get her hands dirty, and being a corporate drone just isn't her style. So she dropped out of school and off the map on her 20th birthday, landed in the driver's seat of the shadows, and never looked back.

A Rigger built entirely around her vehicles and drones. High Logic, Juryrigger, Gearhead, etc. Her primary combat ability is Gunnery, and she has a load of technical skills for all the group's out of combat needs.

As for the summoning thing, the house rule I usually go with is that your Limit is either Summoner's Astral Limit or Spirit Force, whichever is higher. Prevents stupid stuff like what happens with Force 1 spirits, while also ensuring your Limit increases with Force appropriately.

^LOL, then we need to talk about Ryo's Alchemy house-rule... :D

Also... does the spirit ruling carry-over for saithor's sprites? The test pretty much works the same way as spirits (with the added kick in the nuts that they have no reagents). Maybe set the limit at Resonance or Mental/Social?

What is said house-rule about Alchemy?
