Hey all.

I'm about to run a 5th ed campaign for my group and the player characters are really up for 'sticking it to the man', so I'd like to give them a truely evil corp to oppose.

Does anybody have any ideas / suggestions for creating and running a proper baby-eating, kitten-kicking, bath in the tears of innocents type evil corporation?

I always viewed the corps as all being this way personally.

I had an idea for a rogue AI running a Corp - it main purpose would be R&D for making meat slaves and meat puppets for it to control, jump into, etc. It would front as a Tech up and comer by selling some 'gamer'/matrix gear.

check out the Corp Horizon sometime and The Consensus / Horizon Project for some ideas.
Do you believe in a greater WIRELESS, an Invisible(WiFi) All Seeing(detecting those connected- at least if within 100'), All Knowing(all online data) Presence that we can draw upon for Wisdom(downloads & updates), Strength (wifi boni) and Comfort (porn) or do you turn your back on it  (Go Offline)?

Just go with the Azzies. Under that squeaky clean public image (how the frag do they manage to keep that, anyway?!) there is ALWAYS something horrifyingly evil. Even if you exclude the Horrors.

There was a nice motivational picture about Shadowrun Villains starring Michael Dougals as Gordon Gekko. In one of my stories/missions I am building up a Villain and an Evil Corp with John Tuld from Margin Call as inspiration. I like the dialogs of some characters in the film. I am buffeld how they rationalize the things they do. Even how they resign and rationalize that.

It is easy to just build up a Corp with some “evil” people on top which using this firm as front for their agenda. But I have seen too many of them, or read about them. Sukie Red Flower vs Solar Tech / Umbrella / Atztech.

Guidelines
1.   They don’t see themselves as evil.
2.   Money Talks
3.   They are no racists.
4.   There is nothing more important as the company.
5.   Woman and Metas may have it harder but if they can prove their worth and make money for the company or are doing their job they are welcome.
6.   Their primary field of business is trading, consulting, counseling, rating/assessment and accounting. This allows them to just buy into companies messing with them or their product market, maximizing their profits and selling everything if the time is right.
7.   They have their own security. People they can trust, soldiers loyal to the company.
8.   They are using loyalty enforcement enhancers for everything above zero-zero and below upper management.
9.   Everything has a price tag, even the lives of people.
10.   Runners working for them until they cannot do their dirty work anymore. Or become a risk for the company. This is important so that the runner can relate/antagonizes with this company and it doesn’t become another faceless one.

Dirty work
1.   They support an anti meta gang to minimize the meta population in a region to save their investment and maximize their products efficiency (This is from Wolf and Raven). But they are not racists and doing it only for the profit, it is not their fault that too many metas are concentrating on the wrong place.
2.   Corrupting or delaying the development for medical treatments to maximize profits for their own firms.
3.   Creating unrest, sabotaging manufacturing or development, discrediting individual or people to create a favorable environment for investment or paid political agendas.

Because Atztech is the only corporation fighting for the little man. Fighting against Dragon supremacy and outdated corrupt world religions. They transformed Mexico/Atzlan into a First World full with ancient traditions, marvel and wonders. They produce affordable food, medicine and commodities for everybody. But most important, there are no witnesses that can or will testify against Atztech. Even Horizon had to create evidence of Atztechs evil deeds. Because Atztech is not evil, just misunderstood.

Can also take inspiration from an episode of Gotham where prospective employee's had to fight to the death to get hired.  While this might be a little much make it for certain promotions so they have that killer attitude.

If that is the case. Then use Mitsuhama.

Thanks for the suggestions folks.

From your experiences, would you treat the whole corp as a cesspool of evil or just one or two particularly ruthless divisions?

Question for you:

Do you have to give blood offers while at work in the Aztech PR department? Or is that just for the Managers that want to "get a head"....
Where am I going? And why am I in a hand basket ???

Remember: You can't fix Stupid. But you can beat on it with a 2x4 until it smartens up! Or dies.

Tough call, depends on your view I think - Corps are about the bottom line - Money and Profit. Which is basicly greed at its rawest form. So they do evil in the name of profit, does that make them evil ? I could see some subsidiary or branch being run by some ruthless, evil, twisted bastard who does evil things just because, and he's either allowed to do it because he's producing results or doing a good job of covering it up from his bosses/the corp.
