As soon as they managed to pull over Snow Crash killed the engine then popped the back, motioning for Solo to do the same to his car he started grabbing various pieces of gear, some for combat, much of it for electronics work and stuffing them into Solo's car. This was slowed down somewhat by needed to access some hidden compartments to retrieve some of the more illegal items, but he'd used this car for years and knew it inside out so it didn't take very long to strip the car of his gear. Then he did a second kind of stripping, using his ownership status to into the root systems and doing a full format and factory reset, removing any indication that he'd ever owned this vehicle... He didn't like leaving it behind like this, but it would cost almost as much to repair as it would replace with the amount of damage it had sustained, so best to make sure it didn't leave a digital trail that could be followed.

With this done he nodded to Al and folded himself into Solo's car. "Well, looks like this time you're the one helping me to bug out Wizard. You get me access to that chopper, and I'll see what I can do about stopping it crashing. it's not going to be pretty or elegant, but we're out of options here."

As he settled i and got ready for another jaunt into VR, glad he'd got the new Coprocessor, he sent a message to Al <<No idea where we're going, At the moment our best move is to keep mobile until things settle down and we can make firmer plans.>>

With that out of the way the albino orc buckled in and let his head drop, diving back into Hot-Sim VR.. it felt GREAT! He was somewhat used to the rush of virtual sensations, but the new co-processor had increased his bandwidth allowing even more sensations to come over him at once as well as increasing his ability to act. It took only a moment's thought for him to flit back to the ambush site, he wasn't hidden, he had one specialty, speed, and now was the time to use it.

Entering VR, second time this night... not sure if you'll call for addiction on this or not.

Also deck is reconfigured. A6(1)/D5(1)/S3/F5 Overclocker is boosting Data Processing by 1, also Decrypt program is boosting Attack by 1.

Programs loaded: Baby Monitor, Signal Scrub and Decrypt.

New initiative:
Boosted Hot Sim Initiative: 5d6+11 27

As soon as the Chopper goes WiFi on I'll use Brute Force, 3 marks and use my last point of Edge to Push the Limit.
Cybercombat 6 + Logic 8 + Hot Sim 2 + Edge 5 - three marks 6
Brute Force + Push the Limit: 15d6h5! 7 hits

With 3 marks I should be able to use Control Device to make the Complex Actions needed to keep the aircraft under control.

[Tobbis -Thursday June 18th, 2076 - By the bloody stars - Little Car - Current condition 0 Stun damage -In VR- Silent - At snow's feet]
"Hey watch it!" A voice comes over the radio as Snow begins to enter the car. Curled up in the foot area was the little changeling technomancer. "Running Anti-decker interference."

24 posts worth add to sheet - 34th Post
So far Solo and Hal have cameras 8/10 cameras left in my possession.
Hal has a Datatap of mine
Every combat round Tobbis spends 10 Initiative points to go into total matrix defense so his willpower is added to all his defense tests.

Matrix Perception vs thier hacker: 13d6t5 6    13d6t5: 4 [13d6t5=2, 3, 1, 5, 6, 5, 3, 2, 2, 1, 3, 6, 3

Defense vs Matrix Perception: 12d6t5 212d6t5: 2 [12d6t5=4, 2, 1, 5, 1, 3, 3, 6, 3, 2, 4, 3]

I wasn't suppose to put rule of six on this, but accidentally did. Luckily it puts whatever explodes into brackets with the first number being the one actually rolled. So its just 11 hits on my brute force defense.
Defense vs Brute Force: 21d6h5 12 21d6h5: 12 [21d6h5=[6, 6, 4], 1, 2, [6, 4], [6, 1], 5, 4, [6, 4], 1, [6, 1], 3, 5, 1, [6, 1], 1, 3, [6, 1], 3, [6, 1], 1, 5]

Hopefully he tries to brute force me. Cause this was less than spectacular. However, I would spend edge on this if needed to reroll lost hits.
Defense against Hack on the Fly/Dataspike: 19d6t5 319d6t5: 3 [19d6t5=4, 4, 2, 1, 3, 6, 3, 4, 4, 3, 1, 1, 3, 2, 5, 2, 1, 2, 5]

On the next IP Data Sprite to Assist adding +5 dice to my next test for a complex form.
Resonance Veil - New Icon appears - Level 2 - Blow the Limit: 20d6h5 11
Ain't no way he's seeing through that probably.

Solo was wowed... Oh frag Al knows what to do. Saint Al, the savior from heavenly fire. It did not take more than a mere thought to transmit the instruction to the spirit. Snow was sleeping in the VR dream there was no time. Solo already knew that he was an amazing decker, if anyone can save the chopper fast enough it was Snow.

He opened his eyes and looked at the chopper, he wasn't the sensitive type but the spirit emotions overwhelmed him. It was as if they shared a mind and over the years have moved closer together in world perspective, as much as a person can be similar to a spirit. However, a spirit that go out of her way to save people... that was completely new. Solo hoped that it work, if anyone could just pop up in that driver seat and do the trick it was a spirit, and with so little time, the brutal methods of Snow where ideal. It was how he liked it, quick dirty and bold.

The spirit barely managed to have a look in the cockpit... there were no bottoms, no manual operation option. Embarrassed, she did not know what to do, despite its intellect she was completely unaware of AR. She was nothing more than a baby in a strange world she knew nothing about. She watched in horror as the chopper crushed into one of the tennaments nearby, it was not a good neighborhood but they did not deserve to die.
The pain and horror overflowed Solos telepathic link - he was unused of this kind of emotion. His heart was darken by years of running the shadows, he felt alive and a terrible person.

There was no time to grieve, Solo felt terrible to identify this dark moment as an opportunity, but a chopper crush was a good diversion. Ninja boys have far greater concerns now than hunting them. Oh they will come - but at the moment being still in combat with the roping guys injured or killed and a bunch of angry runners that expected to be paid - they have more troubles than to hunt a bunch of escaping Deckers. It seemed cold and cowardly but any possibility of getting paid required keeping the family safe.

Solo's rental car and bike tailed the gang, overwhelmed with emotions. Solo texted >> sorry about the distraction I know it was insane but I just had to try it crushed into a building fool of SINless squatters... nobody will even be kind enough to call their families. Our crazy plan was the only thing going on for these people.

Anyhow the rental is here, it has a room for 4 maybe five people. I can move to the bike, Tobias is indeed small - but three in this circus car is a bit odd. Remind me about an old joke.
Are you ready to make a switch Al?

Despite his cooperate education, Solo had a soft spot for SINless being killed randomly without even thinking about it. His entire family was wiped out just to get an awaken from birth baby into cooperate control with no strings attached. Just as if they were not even people. Back then, nobody seemed to care or the cooperate was powerful enough to hush it up. Oh, these guys got what they deserved when Solo had each and everyone killed in the same way in an operation that took years to plan, but these were dark times.

The orc decker comes back to his body with a shudder, even from the Matrix the crash wasn't a pretty sight, multiple public broadcasts providing different viewpoints on the scene. Red pupiled crystal blue eyes watching Solo, noticing the grim, even pained expression.

"That was fragged up... hell, maybe those guys got the locals out of the way before they setup..." the albino orc of frowning, shaking his head. softly in Orzet "Why don't I feel more..." he keeps an eye on Solo, he can see how much this has effected the jack of all trades runner... for himself, he wasn't sure if he was actually feeling grief and anger at the wasteful situation, or he was just mentally going through the motions.

"You are the one getting sentimental my friend... nobody ever consider the SINless" Solo sighs. As the seconds pass, Solo tries to break the awkward silence.  He tells Snow Crush and Al:
"Something is different about my mojo it felt like I was in there with the spirit. I messed up mate - this matrix stuff seems obvious to me that I keep forgetting that spirits are completely unaware. I told her to turn on wireless,  trivial to me... I do not even think about it but she just watched the controls helplessly... Everything was in AR, there were no manual controls to watch. It was like trying to explain to a grandma how to hack in a split second. Some people just don't get it.  I should have told her to unplug the pilot or something physical."
Solo then mentally texted:
<<Guys... if someone can bring a life ninja... We'll know who is peeing in our pool >>

[Thursday June 18th, 2076, ~01:25, Soho, London]

Al cursed inwardly.

He hadn't figured even the virtuo-boys could outrun a chopper crash, but he'd been praying he was wrong.

Now, it seemed he'd been wrong about something else.

"My bad, amigos. Ol' Al keeps fergittin' lots o' these young hotshots strip out their manuals these days."

But he was never one to feel much angst over things caused by other people. And they still had work to do.

<<Are you kidding Solo? I had enough trouble bringing one of those guys down who wasn't wearing his helmet. The best I can do is get you some DNA or maybe an eyeball. Get the hell away from here, before they get their act together and sent the two replacement helis.>>
The screeching sound of a heck rotor colliding with an apartment building, followed immediately by the wirring sound of high speed main rotor fragments peppering the area and several tons of motor and heli cabin hitting first the walls and than the ground interrupted Isaint's message.

<<Isaint, I did not realize it was that bad. We're on roads with the family. You seemed to be doing extremely well with  that chopper going down so quickly and we geeked the mage on the way out.

I am having my spirit conceal everyone that is still breathing in there. They can still spot you - It is not idiot proof, but may save your asses if you are a bit sneaky to begin with. Just get the fuck out of there, I am sending my bike in remote control if anyone is brave enough for my driving feel free to hop on. >>

Solo thought: "Spirit I am sorry about it... Your last service is to conceal the rest of the team members in the combat. Once the combat is over you are free to go wherever you came from.I am so sorry you had to see that."

To Al: "Care to drive? I am sending the bike to see if there are any survivors looking for a ride... Not the best wheel for a rescue operation but we do what what we can with what we have"

"Don't mind if I do," was Al's reply as he parked his featureless white Bulldog in front of the rental.

He popped the back doors as well as the smuggler compartment. The latter turned out not to have been needed, but he reckoned math guy had just endangered his whole family and indirectly cost dozens of people their lives just to double what was already a six-figure compensation package, so wouldn't hurt to put him through the wringer a little.

He and Spike trotted around to the rear. The kids were helping dad out of the cramped space. He looked pastier than usual - it hadn't been a smooth ride, and Al hoped he wouldn't have to clean the space out. "Alrighty, that there van might still be hot, this here ride probably is not. So in ya git. An' Spike rides up front."

He started loading a few bags into the new car. The trunk, er, boot, wouldn't have space for all of his tools, but he took all the weapons, all the demolitions gear, and the flash medkit. Turning to Solo, he said, "Me an' Spike plus Math Family Robinson here, we's full. You'll have ta take Sleeping Daddy with you. Reckon I'm gon' drive 'round inconspicuous, spend time in some better neighborhoods, an' wait for y'all to figure out the next drop."

And then he got into the driver's seat. The van was parked legally on the street for now, but after 0600 it would be in violation - he'd need to get back and pick it up by then. He activated the anti-theft and put the high-end sedan into gear.

The Elite was a nice ride...for a Jap car. The wife and kids were in the back. Spike always insisted on shotgun, which meant Doc Math was riding bitch. Yeah, he'd protested, but Spike had shown some teeth and that was that.

Al headed up to Oxford Street, following the traffic regs, but just mostly. Rollers'd stop a too-careful driver as quick as they'd stop a reckless one. After a block or so things were calmer - the daughter was awake with a bump on her head and probably a nasty headache. She was sullenly silent, though. It was Missus Math that was sobbing quietly, letting out the stress, while her son did his adolescent best to comfort her.

Whether by their employer or the opposition, obviously they'd been fucked at the meet. This happened on the trid all the time, and so came as no surprise to Al. Confident his companions would be exhausting every possible line of communication with Art and Torrent, with their bullshit antennae dialed up to eleven, he figured he'd try to get some info straight from the horse's mouth.

"Well, reckon I don't know a lot, but I know a little. We was told this was a willing extraction, an' by the way y'all come so easy, I'll take that much fer gospel." He didn't muddy the waters with another suspicion - that he and his people might not be working for whoever the family thought they were willingly going with. Instead, he continued to run down the obvious: "An' I know the place we was supposed ta drop y'all off felt wrong from the git-go an' did indeed turn into an almighty clusterfuck - pardon my French, ladies."

He lit up a filterless Lucky Strike that had appeared out of nowhere, using a big stainless steel Zippo that had done the same. "An' near as I kin gather, now correct me if'n I'm wrong, ya were workin' fer NeoNet. So what I wanna know from you, Perfesser, an' right this damned minute, is exactly who it is ya think yer jumpin' ship to?"

Again, he kept a question to himself: Why were people apparently just as happy for him and his family to be dead as alive?

So there was the elite with Al the rather scary dog and the family. The jackrabbit with Tobias and Snow, and Solo had his bike. "So much for a rescue op thought Solo. Thous that need a ride will have to run vampire stile with spirit movement power....about as fast as a scooter, and draws attention but when you have no more wheels you just have no more wheels. He discreetly had one of his flying eyes following the elite. The family deserved a treat it was a very comfortable ride... than again with this kind of extraction they were probobly used to this kind of life style.

Solo called Crash Cart. "We got a man down here... a rich man down. I guarantee to pay the bill if he does not agree to do so. He seemed to had an accident." He gave them the location. There was not enough wheels for an unconscious runner.

The Frenchman was about to pull himself up inside the chopper. Hallucination had done a great job at keeping him invisible and undetected by the snipers on the opposite building. Now all he had to do was neutralize the pilot and take control of the Helicopter. He wasn't sure why, but was feeling very confident in his ability to do so. The sound of the rotary blades covered the shots of the battle below. He extended his hand to grab the metallic body of the chopper when everything started to spin.
He cursed  and grabbed on tightly to the rope.  The rotation took on speed and randomness and the Frenchman's body was flung around. His only chance to survive was to let go, or else he would crash with the helicopter. Lucky for him the diving air vehicle had moved over the building.
He let go and was thrown violently toward the roof of the building. Better than falling to his death on the street below. Upon impact he tried his best to roll to soften the fall and trust on the quality of his titanium bones and orthoskin to take care of the rest.
When his body reached an halt, he braced himself into a ball, knowing the crashing copter no far from him could do some damage.

A few seconds passed. He was still alive and in one piece. He stood up and dusted his suit as he looked at the crash site. Then his emotions prevailed: Putain de merde!!! he yelled. He kicked a piece of debris in anger, upset he was so close to take over the helicopter only to see his efforts denied.

He reached for his commlink and turned it back on. He was going to keep cursing on it when the banter caught up on his feed. Danger was still around. All he had for him now was the vantage point, so he withdrew his gun and approached the edge of the roof.

<<Frenchman here. Would have appreciated a little vote of confidence in taking care of the copter. That said it's down now. Who needs support?>>

[Tobbis -Thursday June 18th, 2076 - By the bloody stars - Little Car - Current condition 0 Stun damage -In VR- Silent - At snow's feet]
<<I've got the decker>> he says, working his first bit of Technomancic Magic. blurring the lines of reality, he could easily make the Decker see whatever it was he wanted the Decker to see.. And that he did. It was actually a very subtle illusion he created, simply making all his team mate's icons disappear, and in the same instance, making new ones appear. Now the decker wouldn't be able to see Tobbis's icons, or even begin to interact with them until he could beat the data dog's

<<Frenchman from Isaint: Sorry, my timing was a bit off, but I didn't expect the chopper to not activate its autopilot. Be glad you didn't geek the pilot just to realize he's in VR and their are no physical controls.
@Alley team: I've reached the exit. Disengage and try to slink away. It can't be long before the Met gets here. I'll try to keep them occupied with a few long range shots.>>

Isaint had reached his bike and started it with a simple command. He exchanged the magazine for regular ammunition and - while half covered by a brick wall and ready to duck away instantly began to fire shots in the direction of the upstairs snipers.

I'm assuming the alley is no longer than 50m so, two rounds of walking and one round of sprinting will get Isaint out
He takes cover and full defense, exchanges magazines and fires a few shots at the upstairs windows, so the roof crew can disengage.
