That was the vibe I was getting: information overhaul and intel.  I respect the not wanting to be a leader thing: doesn't mean you're damn good at picking up info and can probably sort it together into some coherent plan (as denoted in IC musings)

I respect the 1/day goal for posting, and try my best to do such.  As it stands, I know sometimes I fall short on that due to RL.  Don't worry, I won't forget about y'all :)

For one, there's a good chance that at least La Sombra and maybe Hopeless have heard of her due to her Bad Reputations quality. Hopeless, in particular, would probably be a little freaked out given the cause of her Bad Reputation and his last run.

I was playing it like Ian didn't know about it, but was gonna ask his people if they'd ever heard of any of yall. If he finds out about it, he may or may not freak out a bit. Afterall, there may be people who claim he is to blame for what happened on his last job.

EDIT: I'm also planning on giving RnB time to post a response from Salsha before I post IC, but I'll catch up with yall in the car soon.

Not sure if it was clear in the IC, but we don't really need to go closer to the Heron unless y'all want me to do more hacking on Minami's commlink. If we do get closer, I could take a shot and see if I can spot any of Oshiro's commlinks, taking a shot in the dark that he may be at the Heron too. Putting some boots on the ground there to get a feel for the area might not be a bad idea too.

It would be helpful for me to know the basic plan. It sounds like you'll be running in a loose perimeter around The Heron in order to reduce Noise. How long will you guys plan on running your loops?

Will Wraith keep her MARKs on the comm after 30 min is up?

Honestly, there isn't much of a plan yet. When I suggested getting a coffin hotel, I didn't think the rest of the team was going to come along. Then I went ahead and just hacked his 'link anyway. With Snoop set up, I don't really need to get any closer. With that said, my actions will depend on how you rule trying to pull up things like his commcall history or calendar. I imagine they're files protected by his link, so if I have to get MARKs on his files to copy/edit them, then getting closer would be helpful to alleviate noise. The rules are a little murky on files and commlinks.

Wraith will keep the Snoop up until her OS gets to 28, then reboot her commlink.

OK, just checking before I reply: does the number match any of the other commcodes we've been given for any of the other targets? Wraith will have recorded that conversation. Not sure if anyone speaks Japanese though...

Loved the bouncer's perspective, LOL.

ETA: Damn, sorry. What's my OS now?

ETA: a cross reference does not turn up that commcode

I don't think anyone does. Now that I'm thinking about it, we are doing a run against Yaks, probably FOR Yaks. We might be wise to blow some of this advance money on a linguasoft or two. Thoughts?

Was thinking of a similar bent with the linguasoft.  Got a feeling that it wouldn't be hard to link up a live-feed between our links with one person running the software.  Maybe?  If so, not sure how good we should try to get.

I don't have a skilljack and I assume none of you Awakened do either. It's required to run linguasoft in 5e.

Dadelz incompetency as a fixer strikes again! ;)

ETA: On a slightly related side note, I think Phoenix has 2 unspent skill points.

...what?!  How?  XD. I don't have my chunmer file at work so I can't confirm it till tonight.  If that is the case, though....I don't wanna make it a metagame retconn, but a rank or two in Japanese night fit the background....thoughts?

Fits the interest in trids.  Nothing like watching kung fu in the original Japanese.

INT: 3
LOG: 2
Which should give 10 skill points (2*(3+2))

== Knowledge Skills ==
English                    : N                      Pool: 0
Firearms                   : 2                      Pool: 4
Sports                     : 1 [Urban Brawl]        Pool: 4 (6)
Trids                      : 3 [Action]             Pool: 6 (8)
I count 2 (Firearms) + 1 (Sports) + 1 (Specialization) + 3 (Trids) + 1 (Specialization) for 8 point spent.

Incidentally, I really like the suggestion in Core that you can substitute active skills for knowledge skills. Then again, I prefer knowledge skills rounding out a character. I also dislike the bit where those of us with good Intuition could conceivably default on Intuition and understand every language on earth to some degree. I think language should be a non-default, although it is hard to quantify since so many languages are related and some degree of comprehension could transfer. 2nd Edition did this really well with language trees. Hmm... I guess you could do substitution with a penalty if it made sense. If you're a spanish speaker, you might be able to substitute that to understand french with a penalty...

ETA: It might even make more sense for Phoenix being the one who can speak Japanese, given that she is new to DFW. A Japanese speaking shadowrunner in the DFW would probably have had dealings with the Yaks before, which might not be what Johnson really wants.

...which is very much true in backstory, to a rather fatal degree ;) hehe.  Between that and the foreign action films/anime angle, I think we're in agreement it would make sense.  Therefore, with R&B's blessing, I'll give Phoenix Japanese 2.  That would give me a pool of 5.  IC post will go up in the next couple hours (on my lunch break) to reflect.this.
