Kachina's place was really nothing to brag about, but it was what she called home, and that's all that really mattered for her.
Anyone entering with their AR on would notice the Shaman didn't bother much with any 'augmentation'. Everything inside was real or as close as it gets. The walls were bare but most were covered by tapestries of NAN heritage. A few dreamcatchers were hanging then and there, and pots and plants were put around mismatched furniture. The main living area was almost entirely taken by what a trained eye would recognize as a magical lodge, mainly a collection of nik naks from Ute origins.

There was no virtual scent as it was custom nowadays, but the place had a strong odor of plants, maybe synthetic sage or along the line, probably some used in the lodge itself.

A couch covered by a hand sewn blanket was pretty much the only place to 'chill' in there, along a couple low chairs. There was no entertainment units. Kachina probably only used her link and trodes for 'distraction'. Cupboards, sink and a dated food processor indicated where the kitchen was though the delimitation between it and the living space was unclear. Two doors filled one of the corner of the room. One led to the bathroom.  The other to her bedroom which had the bare minimum. A full size bed, a full size mirror, and a small desk covered with different small containers of paint, ointments and powders. Thinking of it, no one in the team had yet to see Kachina without some sort of painting on her face on top of some subtle make up.

She invited to place Kumiho on her bed, so the others could rest in the main living area while Mother and herself alternately looked after the Decker.

Mother carefully carried Kumiho to the bed and laid him on it.

"What a lovely home you have here honey. My place is always so crowded." Said Mother looking around.

Mother sat down. "What's our next step?" asked Mother.

Cozy is probably more adequate. Still a world away from Tanya's gorgeous place.
Kachina look for some refreshments but she doesn't have much to offer. She instead prepare some soycaf.

We will need to wait for Kumiho to wake up before we can know what exactly he found in the host - if he found anything - before getting attacked. I'm very curious how all of this relate to our friend Green.

Tanya sends the commands to the bike and gets it moving.  She is concerned about Kumiho and replays the break-in over and over, trying to see if it was something she did that resulted in the decker's current situation.  She barely recognizes when the car stops, but climbs out to help get Kumiho inside.  Once they get him to the bed, Tanya wanders about the small place, peering at things but not touching.  After all, this is not her home.  She turns to the Indian woman, "You have done nicely here, Kachina.  I can tell that you have made it your home.  There are some nice touches with the decorations and the blanket is very nice.  Did you do that?"

Did I make the blanket? No... answered Kachina. It seemed the question brought the Indian woman back to some old times. She continued after a brief pause, trying to escape her own thoughts. My mother tried to teach me, when I was much younger. But I was too brash and impulsive, and the Shamen had better plan for me. I guess the only artistry skill I got out of that was putting bullets in people with this baby. She added with a chuckle as she pat the machine gun hanging low on her thigh. The blanket does come from my nation, though. I like it a lot, gives me comfort when I'm stuck inside.

She handed the team mismatched cups and mugs and brought the warm pot of soycaf. Sorry, that's all I can offer.

Tanya looks at the woman while she sips from the slightly chipped mug.  "I hope that you do not take this wrong, Kachina."  She waves a hand at the room.  "I hope that you are not comparing your flat to mine and feeling that you come up shy.  These are your things and this is your home.  I can see that you have spent time on making it your place, your refuge from the world.  One can tell a lot about people by observing their home.  For instance, I believe that you like plants, and it looks like sage might be your favorite.  You have a number of very pretty and probably delicate examples of what I have to assume is Native American art.  It seems that there is some vague pattern in the placement of certain things and it is obvious that you take care in and have pride in your place.  Your things are clean and cared for, the kitchen is neat, the place is dusted and tidy.  I appreciate the effort you must put into your home and I thank you for sharing it."

"And speaking of mothers, mine was always volunteering at some social event or another.  It was left to a long line of nurses and nannies in my early years, followed by tutors and eventually several boarding schools to raise me.  I could wish that my mother had even once have wanted to try to teach me anything.  She was exceptionally disappointed in me.  I was younger than my brothers by several years; an accident and completely unwanted.  Dear Daddy felt the same way, unfortunately.  No, if any of this comes as a result of your mother loving you and wanting to share life with you, then I am jealous of you."

She sighs.  But enough of Dame Tanya's pity party.  We can at least review the information we do have while we wait for Kumiho to come round.  For my part, I found the security of the place to be top-notch.  These guys are not playing about.  Military-grade maglocks, and the exterior door was equipped with a tamper-proof device.  The equipment lockers downstairs were even better protected.  SOTA or even bleeding edge.  It was so good that I did not want to try it.  it is too bad we do not know a good rigger.  I would have loved to have left a micro drone in the place."  She turns to Requiem.  "I am no expert, but it seemed that the equipment they had in the lockers was pretty top-grade as well.  And perhaps enough to arm at least one HRT, perhaps for several different mission types.  What was your take?  I am sorry of the pics were not too clear, but I tried to get as good as I good."  She goes to Mother next.  "What were your opinions of the mojo in the place?"

Mother thinks a moment.

"The wards were top notch and the receptionist is a very skilled mage. the place is definitely more than it appears." said Mother.

When Kumiho wakes up, Kachina rushes by his side in the bedroom.
She caringly caresses his forehead. There, there. you're gonna be alright.
Do you remember what happen? what did you find inside that host?

Outside Kachina's place Requiem struggled out of the armour suit, not the easiest thing to do in the cramped confines of the car, but better than some nosy idiot wondering why a robot was wondering into this quiet part of town.  That left him in a skintight black body glove that left his severely scarred whipcord arms clear for all to see...hardly the most appropriate get up either but he had neglected to bring another change of clothes...

"Don't worry, I saw enough.  I agree, it was high end sec or military, not unlike locker rooms I've frequented in the past.  Let's hope our hacker, sorry, decker, has some information about why they hell St James thinks they are involved in Green's untimely departure!"

Kumiho Slowly wakes to find himself in someone's bead, tucked in under a quilt. His head is still pounding as he slowly sits up - trying his best to not make the pain worse. He tries to call for someone but his voice is a little dry. He gives himself a second and tries again

Tanya hears the weak moans from the small bedroom and follows Kachina, stopping at the doorway to avoid crowding.  Her face betrays her concern for the hacker, but she lets Kachina do the talking and just listens.

Kumiho excepts the glass of water and takes a long drink, still trying not to move his head to much in the process.

The security was pretty tight in there, but for the most part I was able to avoid it right up to when I was removing our presence from the Surveillance system. I was successful in erasing the footage with us in it, but I was caught by the IC when I tried to get the Surveillance system to Reformat and Reboot -  to give use enough time to leave the building. the system excepted the last command I gave it but my deck was bricked before I could jackout.

Kumiho takes another drink while clearing his thoughts.

I found some footage that needs to be gone through. It seems Lyle was at Return Safe for some kind of interview or appointment. He looks at Tanya, They had a dos on you, but I was able to edit it. But in the light of everything -  you might think about moving anyway. Turning back to everyone else again, There was no record on the system for a hit to be put out on Lyle. The best I could come up with was a note for a single Appointment that was listed as having been for a few days before Lyle's death. It contained only the date, time and a single note: Result - Declined. Nothing else. However, if you check my Commlink, there is a file in there of all footage from around the same time as Lyle's appointment. Maybe that will give us more clues.

Taking another drink, Kumiho breaths deeply for a moment before continuing. Once I can Repair my deck I have more. There is a list of names, appointments that we can run down. See if they are linked in some way. I suspect that they are interviewing Shadowrunners and people who work in the shows like Lyle for some unknown reason. We'll know more once I have my deck repaired. I found a very secured file catch on an executive sub-host that I was able to copy. I'll need to pull it from my deck and decript it for us to learn more. But I hope that it will shade a lot more light on what Return Safe is really up to.

Tanya nods.  "You did quite well, Kumiho.  Not sure I would have changed their information on me, but that could work in our favor.  I am too public a person to move.  That is actually one of my strong points, I think.  Not many would suspect the idle rich girl of the skills I have.  No, I will stay where I am and perhaps they will come to see if I want a job.  Or any of us, for that matter."

"Do you have what you need to fix your deck?"
