First aid can only be applied within an hour of when the damage was sustained. As Doc is two hours away in Grand Junction, he isn't in a good position to treat anyone. A medkit could be applied by someone else prior to then, but Sam needs to balance the short-term needs of surviving the encounter versus the long-term optimization of his healing schedule.

@Poindexter Yes, all Sam needs to do is alert Kat. She'll spend the Simple action to trigger the preparation. I can roll the preparation (Force + Potency) or you can.



26 - the human/elf on the right flank, who just had Bear materialize next to him

This guy went full-auto on Katsina last turn so he needs to spend a Simple in order to reset his recoil. He will Take Aim + Full Auto the giant spirit in his face.

Shooting Bear: 5 hits

Bear has Reaction 7 + Intuition 7 - Full Auto 5 = 9 to dodge. If he doesn't, the base damage is 9S(e) -7AP + net hits. Bear would get Body 9 + Armor 7 + 4 auto-hits to soak.



26 - the rabid troll on the right tank is trying to punch Sam's brains out the back of his head now

Rabid troll: 5 hits

Sam does not have to take -1 for defending against a previous attack, as that was simultaneous with Sam's last action. The reach advantages cancel out. Base damage is 14P, 0AP + net hits.



25 - Ohanzee is next. He can make it to the trees and activate the physical barrier. @Mal, go ahead and roll 11 dice. Structure = 4, Armor = 4 + net hits.

@rednblack I never answered your question about dismissing the spell. Doing so would require dispelling, which Ace knows not. (Actually, Ace could probably punch his way through one in a hit or two.) Otherwise the spell will naturally expire in (Force) minutes, if I remember correctly.

Hmm, yes, the AP of stick-n-shock does not stack with the gun. However, it only needs to make contact to discharge, so a grazing hit is sufficient. In all likelihood, this is just a formality for Bear, who autosoaks the 9S(e) down to 4S(e) and has 18 dice to remove the rest.

Bear soak: Body 9 + Armor 14 - AP 5: 18d6t5 6 hits, Bear is unperturbed and attempts to return the favor

Dodging bear: 5 hits, the man ducks under Bear's assault



I'll skip ahead a bit as Doc's Agent cannot affect the astral.

21 - B13 is wounded and angry and lashes out at Katsina

B13 attack: 1 hit, no bueno

Katsina defense: Intuition 8 + Logic 5: 13d6t5 4 hits, B13 can't find any traction

19 - the summoned spirit (the chariot) rides off, now that its summoner is deceased

The previously-identified Meta Link in the van goes offline due to a close encounter with a frag grenade. The agent also identifies:

1) an Hermes Ikon on the left flank (near Ace)
2) cybereyes slaved to the Hermes Ikon
3) a chameleon suit slaved to the Hermes Ikon
4) an Ingram Smartgun slaved to the Hermes Ikon

Whoa! I missed something BIG. Bear gives me +2 dice to resist dmg, excluding drain. Holy CRAP, I've got 29 soak dice!

Sam isn't berserked yet as he successfully resisted the check after getting bit. However, he needs to check again now that he's been punched in the nose and probably had it broken.

Berserk check: Willpower 7 + Charisma 3: 10d6t5 1 hit, yup, Sam is going apeshit now. We've got a full-on Kamikaze vs. bear-zerking troll duel on our hands.

The +1 Physical, -1 Mental shift comes from the Berserk adept power, which triggers automatically if Sam fails his mentor spirit disadvantage. Sam's response is already pretty feral so he doesn't have to change his actions at all. This actually gives Sam one more die on his attempt to claw the troll's eyeballs out. Dropping the XM30 and giving his best war cry is great for a Free Action.

Extra die: +1 agility: 1d6t5 1 hit, Sam now has 7 hits and is doing a lot of damage if he connects.

Rabid troll dodge: 3 hits, Sam is working with 4 net hits
Rabid troll soaking: 8 hits, the troll takes 8P and loses a significant portion of his face to Sam's claws

The 8P combined with the prexisting 6P from Sam's APDS gunfire puts the troll at 14P. As impressive of a specimen as this troll is, 14P is enough to put him into overflow. He drops, eyeballs dangling out, and is completely helpless against Sam's carnal rage. Rest In Pieces, troll.

This guy is more than a little alarmed at the fragging laser beams flying out of the forest. He's going to:

Simple: Take Cover behind the snowmobile
Simple: Full-Auto at Ace

Shooting Ace: 6 hits

Ace is at -5 from Full Auto and -1 for Wounds but gets +2 for being prone (and far enough away) and +4 from Combat Sense, so net 0. These are gel rounds, damage 8S +1AP + net hits. Ace is already prone so knockdown isn't an issue.



16 - Doc Hack

Hack sees that he's not being very effective against Katsina and that B13, who is much better at this sort of thing, is getting his hoop kicked. Hack is crazy but not stupid. He's going to pick on someone else, namely Sam.

Attacking Sam: 4 hits

Sam is poorly designed for astral combat and is even more vulnerable now that he is berserk. His defense pool is Intuition + Logic, which is a mighty 4 dice now that he's going nuts. Base damage is 4P + net hits, soaked with Willpower (6 dice). Such are the hazards of being dual-natured.
