On the subject of /Dev/grrl is she still leading the double life of Neo-net school girl by day, shadowrunning hacker by night?

She graduated high school a while ago. She's training with Kane rather than do college I think. Probably sold it to her parents as "A year of humanitarian work in South America, to help the rainforrest" or something similar. Looks good on teh college resume.

Well.

As long as you leave off the "Running around, stealing ships as a pirate" part. :D

So I guess NetCat and Slam-O! need a new babysitter then?
They can always ask uncle Kane. ;)

...What? He's been doing fine with /dev/ so far.

Didn't he once offer and get rejected?

With what was revealed and not revealed in the Boston lockdown, as well as the other cannon information about CFD and about CC being an E-ghost thanks to the Jack-be-Nimble program that saved him. Officially, wouldn't it be possible for CC, or others working on his behalf, be able to "download" CC into a new body and have him return that way? Not saying it is right or wrong, just debating the possibilities. It also raises questions about the other E-ghosts online and what they really are I suppose.

On the Technical and game mechanic side wise, I wonder if a character would lose essence over something like that, since it would be overwriting the mid of the new "host." Does that kill the new hosts "soul" or essence of being, or is it just really similar to relativistic insanity where your mind just isn't your own anymore... huh..??

Kane's well aware that emotion can make you do stupid things.

That's one of the reasons I started thinking about it. I've been close to asking upstairs to put together a JackPoint PDF, with user icons, info, and so on. Doubt it'd sell, but, by golly, *I'd* read it. :)

I would buy it PDF or Print.

You guys could always update the wiki...*hint* *hint* *nudge* *nudge* It's open to everyone.

There are already a handful of entries on a few Jackpointers, but always need more.

Check out "Shadowland posters and publications compiled tables" on this site: http://danvolodar.ru/files/SR/

There's a jackpoint user list too.

Pistons is either in Seattle or Denver, used to have "playdates" with devgirl when she was in Seattle, still works with Netcat and Kay on
                      occasion

OrkCEO has gone "legit" and runs a bodyguard company, sore with Ballandeer
Winterhawk is "semi-retired" but still doing his studies
Red is an OLD vampire elf who still has actual books and is slightly out-of-sync with the 2070s

Miles Lanier is still on Jackpoint and still fighting his CFD
Plan 9 is still weird but has made some peace with it's multiple CFD personalities

The Smiling Bandit is still keeping up to date with all the cutting edge stuff
The Chromed Accountant is retired!
2xl is smuggling like gangbusters as is Sounder
Baka Dabora is watching the Japancorps
DangerSensei is apprenticing new runners on occasion
Picador has been cooling her heels since Bogota

Orbital DK is still space bound

Okay...that's all I can remember off the top of my head...hopefully that's correct...now to wait and see what Wakshaani says....

Did she? I thought she hacked her way in because Bull said he wasn't going to invite her but Slamm-o! wanted her on...

In the Renraku section of Market Panic, Slamm-O! asks Bull if he still has the contact info, and that they should send an invite. Glitch says she probably doesn't have time to be bothered by Slamm-O! And OC says people might be surprised. But since there's already the likes of Miles Lanier on the board, I can see Bull dropping an invite to Hestaby. Not only because it would be a good gag to pull on Slamm-O! (Be careful what you wish for), but also because a great dragon on the outs of dragon society and having lost the better part of her hoard just might be someone the shadow community really ought to keep in touch with. She wouldn't be the first dragon to run the shadows, after all.

Perhaps a tie in with the Deep Resonance novel where Slamm-O! has taken a job from Hestaby and she is shown to be reaching out the to TMs as well?
Do you believe in a greater WIRELESS, an Invisible(WiFi) All Seeing(detecting those connected- at least if within 100'), All Knowing(all online data) Presence that we can draw upon for Wisdom(downloads & updates), Strength (wifi boni) and Comfort (porn) or do you turn your back on it  (Go Offline)?

More like manipulating the TM situation for her own ends, as she desperately needs new assets. Remember "Never deal with a Dragon", at least unless you are ready to accept the consequences  ;).

Actually, Rosa, Hestaby has a history of taking in TMs, so it isn't out of character for her to be reaching out to them now.

All right, went through a book or two (mainly Market Panic) to fill out the rest of the 'Pointers that I missed earlier...

Mika and Ma'Fan are still thieving their ways around the world and still not happy with each other
Rigger X is still wanted by MCT and will still stab you in the back for no real reason
Kia is still working as a fixer over in Asia
Goat Foot is still a hajib-wearing Middle Eastern satyr who works as an information broker
Am-mut has been very quiet lately, though I'm guessing he's still serving as a fence
Mihoshi Oni is still running around serving as a troll sized bodyguard abd keeping up her contacts with the Yaks
Icarus is hanging out in lower orbit working for NeoNET and worrying about what will happen
Mr. Bonds is still a member of Brockrage X
Stone works as a merc/gun-for-hire and enjoys the boom-boom he gets to use
Dr Spin is still spinning things for folks and keeping up with all the sneak stuff the corps do
Arete is high up in the Seers Guild and is still having flashes of the future in his dreams
Man-of-Many-Names is still about, tossing out slight bits of info on everything magical, though lately it's been less...veiled
Snopes still demands proof before he believes any conspiracy or odd occurance
Axis Mundi is still about, makign buddy-buddy with the spirit world
Nephrine occassionally pops in to say a few things but that's about it, or so it seems
Kat o' Nine is still living fast and sexy as a world-trotting rocker/runner
Cosmos sees things from a farther out position and has kind of become the Azzie watcher
Cayman pops in occassionally to give his two cents when he's not off running as a gun-for-hire
Red Anya si still the best to go to for Russian info and cheap ordinance in that section of the world
Lyran is still a talismongerer and Wolf shaman
Sekretar has shown up only one but seems to be an idealist
Beaker is still mixing those chemicals and kicking those bigots
M'halo has appeared once but seems unimpressed by Ryumyo the dragon
Sir Icelot has shown up once...and that's all I got
Chiller is young and shown up once or twice but doesn't know a lot about the corps it seems
SeaTac Sweetie is still the premier escort in Seattle

I probably have missed a few...when I get some extra time I'll really hit the rest of the books and see what I missed...

Actually, Rosa, Hestaby has a history of taking in TMs, so it isn't out of character for her to be reaching out to them now.

Very true! In the Shasta Lodge she had a whole tribe of TMs and otaku..in fact, if memory serves me right, Llofwyr swiped Hestaby's lead TM from there and never returned him....

Interesting notations! A bit wrong here or there, but generally on point. Seeing what sticks in peoples' heads and what doesn't helps with Things.

Mind you, if they'd let me, I'd write an entire book of nothing but Shadowtalk, so. :)
