Maxwell clears his throat and says: "Speaking of which, do you know anything about the Brain Eaters?"

"Mainly that they're a tech-oriented gang rather than the typical 'muscle' sort," Serge notes.

[Mulcarn]

With disappointment Maxwell says: "Was hoping for an all ghoul gang with a name like Brain Eaters."

"Bite your tongue," the doctor replies with a barely perceptible shudder, "I'd rather not run into such a large gathering of ghouls."

[Mulcarn]

Smiling sinisterly at Serge: "Where's your sense of adventure?"

"In another lifetime," he responds simply. With that, he pushes away from the table and stands up saying, "I'll get back in contact with you around 19:30, but for now, I have other engagements to attend to." He turns and exits the shop headed toward the rental car he has until the slashed tires on the Hyundai are repaired to head to pick up a bouquet of flowers and proceed to Veronica's home to pick her up for dinner. It was, after all, difficult to get those 15:00 reservations.

Maxwell watches the doctor get up and walk out of the cafe to his car.  Making a mental note of the time 19:30 and wondering how long before he's back to full strength.  Serge's parting words ring out in Maxwell's mind.  A scowl forms and Maxwell bitterly whispers: "You only get the one life."  And on that note Maxwell gets up and leaves back for his apartment.  The solemn walk will do much to clear Maxwell's head about the coming run.

--- Serge, Interlude ---

Justin and Veronica arrive at the restaurant just a few minutes shy of 15:00. Pulling in to park, he exits the vehicle and moves around to the passenger side, opening the door for the lovely redheaded woman and offering his hand.

Entering the restaurant with his arm around her silken dress clad form, he says to the host, “Feron, party of two. I have a reservation.”

After just a few minutes the couple is seated and orders a bottle of wine. As dinner progresses, they talk about their respective days and make other sorts of small talk—both romantic and not. Near the end of dinner, as dessert arrives, he stands up and moves to stand beside her, lowering himself to one knee and  pulls a small box from the pocket of his jacket, opening it and revealing a slim golden band with a single diamond set in the middle.

He blinks a little at that, most women found his approach to photography well... disturbing. ignoring that part for now, he asks simply, "And who is this I'm suppose to talk to?"

@David - the copper answers "Well I was sent by Captian Rob." You actually know the guy a little bit, enough to say that he is the kind that would only hire civilians as a last resort.  You also know that he is no captain, and that his full name is Robert Winter, and that he is a senior KE that was very involved in the Barrens for many years, he probobly knows more about the gangs of Seattle than yourself.

There are moment in life that you can feel that time stands still. In the brief moment it takes Veronica to respond you experience your entire life. You are hyper aware thinking about everything that can happen now.  It seems forever before she reply and ever microsecond of silence tormented you.

You can swear that she is the most beautiful thing in the world as you look at her big happy eyes and hear the words: “Yes! I will be your wife Justin!” You are the happiest man! It is dim as your entire focus is on Veronica, but you can hear the entire restaurant clapping their hands with excitement. Shortly after, a well dressed human in his 50's with grey hair approaches you. "I am Bill, the restaurant owner.  I Brings you this bottle of wine.  It is 30 years old and very good, I’ve been saving it for a special occasion. Consider it your first wedding gift.” Oddly enough, you have never met Bill. He must have been moved by your romantic gesture. You look at Veronica shyly as Bill pours you two glasses of wine and leave you the bottle on the table.
He wishes you well and returns to his table, where he is apparently meeting a supplier.

"Okay.. i guess that means he wants to talk to me?" The photographer asks. Waiting for her to get to the point.

@David she tells you "Yes... come with me, he's waiting you down town. In the KE building"

David sighs , shaking his head as he follows, his microcamera recording along the way. A wrapper program was put over it, making it look like the pin icon it should be

David as you reach the police HQ you see that it is packed with criminals. You recognized many familiar faces to people you run with in the past. Captain Rob invites you to a small office that they did not make an improvised detention room. As you enters he pours himself some coffee and ask if you want too. After a few pleasantries, that were especially brief Captain Rob asks you: "Are you free for some informal work tonight?, I need a favor. "
