Hello , i have been meaning to run a cyberpunk themed game for quite a while in my local game store ,
and since shadowrun is the most popular setting atm , what with all the games coming out ,i would like to run that .
However , there is a snag , namely that right now i am too busy right now to study up on the rules by reading them ,
and that the most complex game i ever ran was Star wars d6 , and a little of storyteller , and that one was with a lot of handwaving .
While what i have read of the rulebook gives me the impression that it is even more complex than dnd 4th edition ,
only without the godawful mmo like mechanics , so Sr 5 seems to be something i would need some help with.

I used to play a lot of boardgames, complex ones where one of us,
sometimes me , read the rules and explained the rules ,
however long that explanation took.
I would like someone to explain all the mechanics to me , preferably via skype or steam,
so that maybe one day i would be able to run a game myself .
That and it would take a lot less time reading through rules i have already learned.

It's unlikely that you are going to get someone willing to spend time teaching you a game that you aren't willing to put any effort into yourself.  If you were to spend time learning the basics, and then ask for help with the confusing parts (because there are confusing parts) you may find someone willing.  You are essentially asking someone to give you their time because you don't want to spend any of yours trying first.

Your best bet is going to be the free rules that were put out here http://cdn.shadowruntabletop.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/E-CAT27QSR_SR5-Quick-Start-Rules.pdf?b979cc  It's free and will take you about 30 minutes to read.

You want the mechanics?  Its ATTRIBUTE+SKILL and roll that many d6s.  Every 5 and 6 you roll is good and is a success.  That right there is about 60% of the system.

Go read that document, come back, and I'll help from there.

That sounds great , some other chummers have also been kind enough to respond to my call for assistance,
though schedules and such have limited our communications .
I have read through the quickstart rules before i made my distress call ,
and have had some explanation of the combat section of the core rulebook ,
(dont know how much ill remember in the heat of battle with my victims .. err, players)
though theres still a lot to go , and plenty of rules to readup on .
The main thing is remembering all the formulas and which skill + attribute or whatever is used when ,
when is threshold used or opposed test , is it a funky limit other than the usual suspects,
especially when there is individual per skill limits .
Also i hope a good gm screen is available which lists all the stuff i need with quick access including esoteric non-tabled rules like shotguns and others ...
I think theres 2 on the market for 5  , though heard they do not include 100 % of the tables.
So if you could be of any help that would be awesome ,
fancy a skype session ?
