I was wondering if a new source book would be compiled for 5th edition, for Seattle. The only thing that I have seen thus far has been a mishmash of current information in the books and the 5th ed. Core book. The last book was in 3rd ed. and covered up to and in between 2060 and 2062. Its been 10-14 years game time since, and a great deal, a frag ton lot, has changed in the UCAS number 1 shadow city.

I know that the current books, missions and games have been covering a great deal of Denver, Chicago and Boston. But there is nothing solid from Seattle. Is it just too much too compile, or is it something that is low on the list. I have gone to the Catalyst Game Labs site, but their updated and upcoming list, has not been updated. I saw another link to a different up and coming list somewhere on here and I will try to track it down again, but there wasn't anything that I saw (during my admittedly quick read through) about Seattle.

I am still coming up to date on snagging the books, e-books, and missions updates for the last two years, but it all seems piecemeal. Did I miss it somewhere? I know that Catalyst has had the doors blown wide open about what players want published next lol, and I would agree that the sourcebooks for the different "base archetypes" are incredibly important, especially including the Technomancer update and Rigger 5. But I was just curious as to the status of a Seattle 5th ed. sourcebook.

Well, enough of that question I suppose. Could there any piecemeal books/missions/etc.. that someone could aim me at to sort of collect an idea of everything that has happened. I have been using the 3rd ed. maps and geopolitical materials, with updates from some of the more recent material as well as the Wiki site to compile a list of the big changes, but I know for a fact I have some large holes in my Seattle setting. I am asking all of this because I am getting ready to kick off a long term game with a dedicated set of gamers ( We are looking at 3years+ for this game alone) starting in 2073/74 and working our way in and out and around Seattle for the most part and I really want a detailed framework to start from before improvising.

Thanks to any and all that respond for your thoughts and time! 8)

Every edition gets a Seattle book.

I can't imagine 5th edition not. :)

And it might be sooner than you think...

Most of the "snippets" I've seen indicate that the 5e Seattle release will be a boxed set.

@Wakshaani - does that mesh with what you've seen?

Seattle 2072 is the most recent Seattle sourcebook. There's also a 60-page chapter on Seattle in Runner Havens (2070).

Thanks all for the responses and the direction.

@AJ Carrington, by boxed set I am assuming you mean a large collection of various sourcebooks?

And Thanks for pointing the way Crimsondude! :)

I can neither confirm nor deny how a Future Product might be constructed.

But if something's announced, I can talk about it. So, you know...

I'll be back when I can.

To be honest, not sure...but I think it would include books/sourcebooks + map(s) + media. I'd actually prefer a nice full color hard cover with a separate, standalone map pack. Time will tell... ;)

It's been announced (and some of the artwork already shown off), so yes, we can confirm it.  There is a new Seattle product coming, and it's a boxed set.

Other details -- exactly what's in it, who's been assigned what -- are still NDA-sealed, but since they already announced the product was a thing kind of a while ago, there's no harm in saying "Yeah, there's a Seattle Boxed Set on the way."

Adn Crit pops up while I type, and I go ahead and erase my comments in light of it. Whee! :)

In the meantime to tide you over until the boxset comes out, you might want to look at a SR 2075 Seattle Map put together by Chinagreenelvis (sorta sounds like a Laundry Listed Entity, but seems much nicer) and other fellow gamers.

If you have mapping skills/ideas to contribute you might even check out their thread and talk to them about joining their SR 2075 mapping project.

Do you believe in a greater WIRELESS, an Invisible(WiFi) All Seeing(detecting those connected- at least if within 100'), All Knowing(all online data) Presence that we can draw upon for Wisdom(downloads & updates), Strength (wifi boni) and Comfort (porn) or do you turn your back on it  (Go Offline)?

Not a problem, always glad to help. :D

Just remember the map is not necessarily all canon as while a lot of it is from the books, others are gamer creations, but it really is a nice map with plenty of locales to fill in your campaign world.

I still enjoy just clicking on all the points of interest whether its a factory or a cheap dive.

How can you not love the following:

Quote from:  SR 2075 Map Project, Tacoma Region
Name: Zalensky's Electronics

Address: 27th Street West and Bridgeport Way

Description: Zalensky's is a front for a small body shop run by Dr. Margaret Carruthers, who does a lot of work altering local Yak street samurai.

Type: Shopping

Info: Medium Store and Body Shop

Bias: None
Granted there are no stats on any NPCs mentioned, but still a great resource for fleshing out the region with.

Now that everyone has access to Google maps, please sanity check addresses rather than copy pasta from previous editions.

I think that a lot of the errors come from misreading a paper map or listing a street address without the municipality.

I would be more than happy to point out the errors that I've found.

If I were writing about Downtown/Seattle, the first thing I would do is burn Dante's Inferno to the ground and salt the earth.

Dante's / Seattle Public Library is one of those glaring errors
