After tossing the grenade into the room, Cal peeks in through the open door...

As Cal opens the door to take a peek, it suddenly bursts open and a large metahuman rushes out slamming into Cal and pushing him back just a touch.  He has Cal's arms pinned against his sides.  As Cal struggled, he realizes he is pushing against an Ork, tactically outfitted.

Calico casts her spell, waiting for the sniper to reappear but doesn't see him.  "What's going on?!" demands the dwarf as he scrambles around the desk over to Calico's side, placing it between him and the window.

The secretary crouches in the corner, her arms over her head, screaming loudly.

Chance doesn't see the sniper and takes a moment to consider moving to the fallen ork.

Meanwhile, Kumiho takes a moment to scan the various hidden icons and finds one, nothing that it is decently powered cyberdeck.

I scramble back from the window towards the ork on the floor. Shit, damn and drek. I really didn't think they'd get a fix on these guys as quickly as we did. Reaching the body I begin to check him for any signs of life whilst shouting "Man down, anyone got a medkit, trauma patch or healing spell?" Well played John, why'd you have to leave your medkit in the car?

Calico ignores the dwarf's question as she continues to scan for the sniper. *This is no time for explanations* she thinks. *All that matters now is that he stays out of the line of fire.  I just hope he listens to that bullet in his shoulder more than he listened to my warnings* In the background she can hear John shouting for a medic, but she has to deal with this sniper. Where was he anyway? *I wonder how Cal's doing ...* she muses, scanning.

Cal managed to throw the ork off of him and squared up.  The ork threw a haymaker.  Cal ducked out of the way, saving his face but still caught a heavy blow on his shoulder.  The guy was built like a brick shit house as Cal staggered, shaken but still on his feet.

"Stay down" Calico tells the dwarf as she hurries into the other office, deciding that the shooter didn't seem like he was going to show himself for now. Crouching by the fallen ork detective, she quickly lays her hands on him, channeling magical healing into him, even though she had a feeling that he was beyond help.

Tanya sends a message to the team.  >>Team.  Tanya.  Is there a best way to come up on the buildings?  Or perhaps a car we can follow?<<

Seeing Tanya's message overlaid across his field of view, Earlybird fears for the worst. he hasn't heard anything back from the rest of the team over the comm since just after the shooting started. He quickly composes and sends message to his dangling passenger.

The sounds of grunting come from Cal's subvocal channel before a brief pause. When he cuts back in, he sounds a bit winded. "Engaged one hostile ork soldier."

A fraggin' ork, of course, he thought to himself once he finally got a good look at the ugly metahuman before him. Why is it always fraggin' orks?

He launched a return punch at the ork. The blow the ork landed had left him a bit staggered, and he was no street fighter, but he sure as drek wasn't backing down now.

Tanya is equally concerned at the lack of response from the team.  >>Earlybird.  Yeah, I got your message but did not see a reply.  I know they can take care of themselves, but if it is all four assassins?  Are you sure you do not want to let me off and just go ahead?  I have to be dragging your airspeed and performance down.<<

Cal punches the ork in the face and then shakes his hand briefly.  If the blow registered on the ork, he does a good job of hiding it.  The ork grins and hurls another punch at Cal, who again manages to get his face out of the way, but still takes a solid blow.

Spinning with the blow, Cal reaches to his holster and draws his Crusader^TM, taking a few steps back and behind a box in the hall before aiming and accusing off a quick burst.  The shots connect and the ork snarls.  Just then, a loud POP is heard from the room the ork was in, as the flashbang goes off.

As he ducks behind the box, Cal remembers to initiate his live video feed to the team. "Opening fire with SnS rounds. Attempting to subdue target," he subvocalizes while taking aim and pulling the trigger on his weapon.

Tanya takes the live feed but stays off the channel to avoid sticking her two nuyen in where it does not belong and would be less than useful.  Earlybird has not dropped down to let her get off so they are still on a course to the fight.  Although she does not say anything out loud, she is listening.

Sounds like our muscle has got things under control under control and wiggly finger here seems to be on top of trying to keep this one alive. Probably best not to let the other schmuck do a runner just in case.

I start moving to the door of the office casting my eyes over my clothing to check for blood as I go.
