Forty was wondering if we risk setting off whatever alarms, traps, security in general that they y might have left in the room, in order to learn more and/or lay our own traps, or would we wait purely outside.

So, once we went back to a surveillance mode from a smash and grab mode, VanGuard will change the loadout on his RCC.  I will edit my post on the first page with the new loadout once I have made some rolls, which will be added to this post.

TL;DR: 10 hits / limit 10 for seeing the van approach the motel.

I added 2 instead of 3 dice for the vision enhancement on the van's sensors on orokos, hence the roll for one extra die.  Apologies if this is too verbose, I figured with such a large dicepool, you'd like to see where it all came from.

To clarify Forty's IC post:

- we haven't done matrix perception on the room, I think?  Kachina did an astral sweep, but the don't think anyone did a matrix sweep.

- Forty doesn't trust humans. I don't think think there was an anti meta sentiment in the plan, but Forty will tend to see prejudice whether or not there is anything there.  Mostly she keeps those thoughts to herself,as seen there.  Take the karma for it, gotta play it :)

Pretty sure I did a Matrix Perception, but this is a good time to do another.  Will do a check of the immediate area of the hotel: 10d6t5 4 hits   Use hits for finding silent running, if any then identify if icons are devices/personas...  If nothing, then adjacent  buildings (particularly rooftops) 10d6t5 3 hits looking for same.  Once clear, I will inform the team and then switch to AR so that I can ready my EBR.  Once team is in place will remotely unlock door.

Will make an IC post based on not finding any hidden icons (pretty sure I did this already, but if not best to double check).  If there are icons that I can't resolve I will need to edit my post.

I may have mis-read a previous post, thinking you were just looking at the host when you were looking more generally -- sorry.

Forty sends her spirit in first (materialized). (one service)

Assuming nothing dramatic happens (large iff), she'll look around the room in general, (per 8 dice - 1 stun = 7)
     perception 7 dice look around motel room: 7d6t5 4
    four hits, not bad for noticing whatever there is to see.  In particular looking for clothing (for scent) and things labelled "clue" in large glowing letters .... or at least anything she thinks could be relevant.

then do a teamwork perception: smell test with her spirit

Spirit 12 dice
     spirit smell (teamworking): 12d6t5 3

Forty perception 8 - 1 (stun damage) +3 (teamwork)
     40's smell test: 10d6t5 3
     
Finally she'll pull out her link and take video of the room, for the rest of the team.

Edit to add: I wrote the above and associated IC post when I was up way late by my standards (waiting for our son to call for a ride home from playing D&D with friends.  Some sort of nested nerdery there).  I cleaned up a few formating and grammar mistakes in the IC post this morning, but didn't mess with the contents.  Not the most coherent thing I've ever written,  but I'm loathe to make any substantive changes after some might have read it.

Unlocking the door is easy peasy, since Ravener has a stranglehold on the motel host.  There are a few hidden icons nearby, but nothing being hidden behind a deck, so Ravener clears it all and it turns out to mostly be benign.  A drug dealer on the corner running a second link sort of thing.

There wasn't anything in there to indicate they were still there, but nothing to indicate they had vacated either.

Depends on if they were the type to have a bunch of luggage, I guess.

Anyway, I'll leave you guys another day to indicate any other actions, like moving forward with the booby trap plan or whatever.

Just to clarify, my post was more of a 'I'm still here and paying attention' post, not a complaint about lack of action or anything like that.  I recognize the need for legwork, and Henway's limited ability to be of much use in that aspect of the job.
