I got to thinking (A thing I should NEVER do).  What do you consider he CORE and secondary requirements of the various character types?

My partial lists

ALL Shadowrunners
Intuition
Perception
Sneaking

Street Samurai
Agility
Combat Skill(s)
2. Defensive

Decker
Logic
Hacking
Computers
2. Electronics skill group
Cracking Skill Group

Face
Charisma
Negotiation
Con
2. Etiquette
Impersonation
disguise

Combat Mage
Willpower
Spell casting
Summoning
2. Counterspelling
Assensing

Anyone have any other suggestions on what should be on the list or taken off?

Everyone
At least BOD 3, WIL 3
Some investment in REA
Some method of reliable initiative boosting (can be EDG 7, but that is less reliable/riskier)

Street Sam
One really good ranged skill
One really good melee skill

Decker/Face
Something active to do in combat, whether that's Commanding Voice, gun skill/grenades, or consistently being able to hit Marks on guns to eject clips (bricking guns starting with 0 Marks when combat starts is not feasible) [this is easier if your face, or more rarely your decker, is also a mage]

Mage
Heal.
Spell that can do stun
Spell that can hurt drones
Area distraction-y stuff to avoid fighting if necessary
Playability > verisimilitude.

All Shadowrunners
Sneaking
Perception
Something constructive to do in a fight

Hackers (Deckers and Technomancers)
Hacking (duh)
Matrix Perception/Search
Secondary: Useful Logic Skills

Mages
Heal
Astral Perception
Secondary: Utility & Mass Slaughter

Combat Specialists  (Samies, Adepts, whatever)
Kill stuff
Go Fast
Mitigate Damage
Secondary: B&E

Social Characters
honestly, player creativity
Negotiation and Legwork
Secondary, depends on the team.  Some teams are set up for capers, some aren't, know your team and play to your Strength.

Riggers
Secondary: Everydamnthing.  Riggers are too damn spread out.
