I'm new to Shadowrun here, but I have a few questions.

First, is there any official resources covering the "Awakening"?
Second, is there any resources covering "Chicago"?
Are there any Modern adventures from other RPG systems that could be converted to the Awakening.

I don't plan on using the Shadowrun ruleset, just the storyline/plot. I'll be using the "Cypher System" ruleset from Monte Cook.
(Don't shoot me if your a hardcore Shadowrun fan please. I have a family, so I have no interest in learning a new complex system, but I love the idea of the Shadowrunner. Heck, I bought some of the books, so I've shown support)

The Awakening would be covered in the timeline found in the 6th world almanac.

Chicago is covered in three or more books depending on when you want to be in the city.
Neo anarchists guide to North America covers the city until the insect spirit outbreak in 2055.
From there Bug City (under quarantine) -> Target: UCAS (ending the quarantine) -> Feral Cities (after the quarantine) describes what's going on.
The current mission series is set in Chicago so goldnuggets can be found in those too.
If Tom Brady’s a Spike Baby, what does that make Brees and Rodgers?

Check out a podcast called The NeoAnarchist Podcast.  That right there will give you all the basic world background you need to build from.

I'd love to know how this goes - I just picked up Numenera and Strange a few weeks ago and am curious how the ruleset would work -- granted I'm looking at it more from the perspective of taking a team of runners to the 9th world for a one off event - possibly an astral quest of some sort. I may start up a separate Numenera campaign someday, but I think I would stick with the 9th world setting.
