If going the bomb route, just make sure you avoid an Operation Valkyrie SNAFU...

...grenade throwing range is based on Strength, not good with only a 2 STR.
You don't need much to chuck a grenade through a door before slamming it closed again, or just over to the other side of a relatively solid piece of cover you're behind. Remember, 'almost' counts when dealing with grenades. And when you use flashbangs or smoke, a high STR (or even high throwing skill) isn't really important. Smoke and Flashbangs, afterall, are less about inflicting damage, and more about controlling the battlefield. And if you have Ultrasound or other sensors capable of 'seeing' through smoke, then just dropping a smoke grenade at your feet can give you one helluva advantage when trying to get out of a bad situation.

Always remember that Shadowrunners are not Military or even Mercs. The main goal is to do the job and get out. Winning gunfights is secondary to that. Focus more on the 'not dying', and as long as you have a good 'argument' on your side, you'll be able to get out of many bad situations.

...the only character that ever did that was my demolitionist, Leela back in the 3rd ed days.  Though 18, she looked like a 12 - 13 year old (before Neoteny was a quality/flaw).  She was a child soldier veteran of a resistance movement in her home nation in the Balkans which was occupied by a dictatorship.  Leela was her cell's demolitions expert (inherited her penchant for explosives from her late father who was a pyrotechnician). When recovering from injuriesafter the initial invasion of her country, she did a lot of "chip study" which not only included demolitions but all the science knowledge that supported it like physics, electronics, structural dynamics, chemistry, & architecture.  it got to where she could almost "read" a structure and know how to measure and where to place the charges for the best effect.

During her first meet with a new group, Mr J. looked at her and commented, "Who's the kid?"

Leela "I'm not a kid"
Mr J. 'Could have fooled me."
Leela: I'm no kid. I fought with my people's resistance in Balkan War for six years."
Mr J. "So tell me then what do you do?"
Leela. "I blow things up, make big bada boom. Buildings, bridges, comm towers, staff cars."
Mr J. "Really..."
Leela. [pulls out what looks like a cake of C6 out of her pocket that is wired with a both radio detonator and a deadman's switch, the "armed" light suddenly turns on without her doing anything] "yes beeeg bada boom, you wanna see?"
[one of his goons pulls up his gun and she smiles]
Leela: "Do that and Boom!" [slightly moves thumb on deadman's switch], "So, I go on job too now, OK?"
Mr J. [takes deep breath, nods, motions for his associate to holster his gun]
Leela, "Good, now we get to biz [turns team's to face], "OK your turn" [she puts her hand with the cake of plastic explosive in it back in her pocket then turns it off after they can't see it].

Leela had an implant available back then called a Transducer which allowed her to communicate through a transciever or other radio gear by just thinking what she wanted to say.  She often used it to arm and detonate explosives with specific trigger words that were keyed into the radio detonators.

She was also the one I mentioned earlier who used the FN-AAL Gyrojet.

Pretty sure he meant as a failsafe on their side of the discussion, not just saying 'I've rigged the room with explosives, muahaha *cue mustache twirling.*'
Precisely correct. It presumes, of course, that you're also savvy enough to recognize when the negotiations are over, though.

If you're afraid they'll turn on you, setting a small charge under their chair or at your escape route (to detonate after you get through) is a wise move.  One of my first Shadowrun games had a Face who liked his booms for just such occasions.

Quote from:  Gun H(e)aven 3 p.9
The weapon is shipped with a detachable sound suppressor, allowing the user to reduce their audio signature at the expense of concealment.
Standard Upgrades/Accessories: Sound Suppressor
Ok.  I see.  You were focusing on the INTEGRATED part.
I thought you were saying it didn't include a suppressor at all.  Which of course made me go, HUH?

BOD: 4, AGI: 5 REA: 4 (5 augmented)  STR:2

Skills: Priority C

Skill Points allocated to weapon skills: 4 (currently Pistols specialised in Semiautomatics which covers a good number of light and heavy pistols)  for a base pool of 8 (10) w/o Smartlink bonus.

Were she to take automatics, at best (without specialisation) her base pool would be 9  w/o Smartlink bonus.

The character has a Smartlink implant with the rest of her augmentation being Bioware and Genemods which are more essence friendly and thus don't impact her Social Limit as much.

No way to free up 3 more skill points?
5 Agi is great, if you were packing 6+Spec+SGL & would say Pistols all the way w/o a doubt.
12 Dice when Wireless is solid, but 15 would be oh so much better.

When negotiating with a Mr. Jabason, it never hurts to keep a palmed Thermal Detonator handy.

You all seem to forget that an angry mr J can kill you with a smile. He's so impressed with you and your explosives he has something special for your team. You are going to be the diversion! You know, the guys who have security tipped off about a terrorist inside their place while mid run? "Oops. Did I do that? So sorry chummers.  Maybe next time you'll learn some manners. If there is a next time for you. I hear people caught trying to commit terrorist acts are executed in S-K lands. No hard feelings."

Always been a fan of concealed pieces for face chars. Holdouts like the streetline special for MAD detectors, Tasers for.high class city areas and heavy pistols for the shitter end of town.
All about pistols class for me :-)

Add another vote for tasers. They're not the most damaging ever, but they are completely legal and can be concealed if you need to sneak one into a meet. No penalties vs chemsniffers either, which most high-security meets at my table would have access to.

I still don't get why exactly someone would be worried or surprised that people are concealed carrying guns at meets in restaurants, clubs, etc. Barring, like, taking them into a corporate office tower.

Again I'm American so I've come to terms with the fact that people are concealed carrying if not open carrying literally everywhere I go in public. Maybe some other countries would care but I can't see it being an issue in Seattle, UCAS, CAS, Denver...

....GMd a campaign, part of which took place in the UK where even in 2061, they still had strict firearm laws. Even a holdout or taser would get you arrested, fined, and thrown in jail.

On the flip side were the Balkans where just about everyone was armed.

It isn't a concern in some countries, WhiskeyJack...  But your Megacorporation's extra-territorial regions might be different.  Not just the office tower, but the streets under their aegis.  For Seattle itself, there's how many international borders around it?  Or things like no-gun zones and their ilk.  A Johnson might request you not bring firepower to the meet, so hiding something small is a good idea.

Regardless, concealing your weapon does a few things for a Face (some are inter-related, yes):

1.  Less Intimidating.  Big Plus for your Talker if he's not scaring the shit out of people he's talking to.  If you do need to intimidate someone, you can pull the weapon then (or have one of your violent buddies do that).  On top of that, you're less likely to get shot first if you don't have a noticeable weapon.
2.  Less Trouble with the Law.  Open carry, even when legal, can get you questioned, which brings the risk of complications.  Keeping it out of sight puts the subject out of mind, in many cases.
3.  Less Conspicuous.  A concealable weapon can be brought in past security, which works in a number of disguises as well as your regular attire.
Would you want to go into a place where the resident had a drum-fed shotgun and can see in the dark?
