Placeholder Runner Name: (KuroNeko)

Been toying with this idea since I took a good long look at the Prototype transhuman quality and the neat list of bioware in Chrome Flesh....I am admittedly still toying with the skills as well as the gear and backstory but this will hopefully prove to be an amusing character to play. Basically I mixed the Covert Ops specialist (high sneaking and gymnastics) with a bit of face (will detail full augmentations later once I have everything set). Basically I imagine her to be created as a living sex toy for a wealthy (and pervy) MCT Executive....only she ended up being far more cunning and dangerous than he could have imagined.... (still working on the backstory, but I think I have the bare bones set) long story short she is pretty much a Genengineered catgirl who is sneaky and seductive  as hell(am still tweaking the actual augmentations but they will include bioware tail, fangs, retractable claws, tailored pheremones, and Cat's Eyes)

Priority Chart;
A: Attributes
B: Resources
C: Skills
D: Metatype  (human)
E: Magic

Attributes
Body 3
Agility 5(probably taking used muscle toner 3)
Reaction: 4
Strength: 3
Willpower: 4
Logic: 4
Intuition: 5
Charisma: 4 (boosting with tailored pheromones)

Active Skills:
Electronics Skill Group 2
Sneaking 5
Gymnastics 5
Con 4 (if karma pans out am specializing in seduction)
Pistols 4 (if karma pans out may specialize in semiautomatic)
Unarmed combat 4
Etiquette 3
Running 2
Perception 1

Qualities(still toying with this)
Prototype Transhuman  (attached is the Wanted NQ due to underworld bounty to bring her back to her "master" who let's just say wants her back rather badly because after they parted ways he had to opt for penile replacement cyberware)

Notes;
I am perfectly willing to spend resources on flavor (and have already done so in my saved file) and I am operating on a few tidbits from Chrome Flesh just need to know a few things

1. Kat mentions in the fluff text that reproductive replacement bioware runs at half price for customization; I am presuming this is the case in-game?

2. What would the pricing be on a pair of cat ears/what cosmetic mod would it fall under? (Idk if biosculpting would cover it)

3. I am more than open to critique of the skills and attributes, I tried to make it a mix of B&E specialist with Face.

I don't understand what LOG 4 is doing for this build at all. If you're taking it solely to plug into Hardware, with a dice pool of 6, on the few tests related to B&E that are LOG-based, that's not a good investment.

WIL is better at an odd number.

Those skills at 4 want to be 6, and don't buy rating 1 skills with skill points, buy them with karma. Specialties are better bought with skill points because they're much cheaper. This edition's karma costs are borked.
Playability > verisimilitude.

You'll want more Perception to spot the alarms and whatnot.

+1 on Whiskey's stat recommendations.

Skills C....

Stealth, Gun, Perception, Con at 6.  Splash around specializations.  Group points in Athletics.  With Karma get Locksmith, Hardware, palming.  1 or 2 points in each.  Hardware tests you'll have to throw Edge at.

There are a couple of Covert Op builds in the Archetype thread, http://forums.shadowruntabletop.com/index.php?topic=21947.0

check them out.

So take a point from logic and put it into WIL?
Currently going with these for qualities;
Prototype transhuman-10 Karma (with Wanted attached)
Catlike (ba dum tish)-7 karma
Natural athlete-7 karma
Also, need those last 2 questions answered if possible, otherwise I'm off to bug my prospective GM

You don't have anything hard capped so I'd probably take 2 points from LOG and put 1 in AGI and 1 in REA or WIL

Or drop WIL to 3 and put that point and the other point from above into CHA.

So....
BOD 3
AGI 6
REA 4
STR 3
WIL 3
LOG 3
INT 5
CHA 5

That good?

That does look good. Can I ask what your interest in LOG 3 is?

None in real particular, mostly to give me more knowledge skill points and an extra d6 to throw at the few electronics skill group-related B&E tests....though I may just put it into intuition after all now that I think of it.....

Yeah that's what I thought. Invest in some good tools for that to boost your dice pool, or drop the skill group and just take Hardware 1 with a specialty in maglocks, which nets you 1 more die anyway.

Remember you can only put one stat at the natural maximum at chargen.

-facepalm- what would you recommend I put that point into? Currently thinking Reaction, strength, or Body.

Reaction. It gives you a solid 10 dice Defense pool, which is pretty much the best you can get if you're hard-capping an attribute that's not a dodge attribute (which you usually are unless you're a rigger or an Intuition-tradition mage).

Strength is the second best. Since you want to mix it up in melee, that gives you more melee damage. Also, since you're at 3 Strength, you're only one point away from adding a point of Recoil Compensation.

The difference between Body 3 and Body 4 isn't big enough to consider here. It basically lets you soak a bit better and resist some things a bit better, but it's not really worth it.

Also, at this point, I'm contractually obligated to ask if you've considered combat-enhancing drugs. Given the background, I could see a Narco treatment in your past to make Charisma-affecting drugs more effective. It's just a little dip and a slide over to some Cram, Jazz, Kamikaze or K-10. Take some pharma-grade Cram and Psyche with a Narco treatment and you'd be rocking a 14-dice dodge pool for 7 hours a speed-ball dose - not to mention getting +2 Logic just for kicks.

Omae, you really love your drugs.....

Considered, but not quite sure how well it plays into everything....

Probably going to go with a similar skill build to what Hobbes suggested, though I am going to twist it a bit.... (I'm not about straight up powergaming, but I don't like to play crippled characters)

Any knowledge skill recommendations for this character?
May spend 6 of my free 14 to give her English 6 (and thus no language barrier penalty to con, or I may just spring for a linguasoft or just break and make English her native language)

As for the price (and what rough augmentation it might be) to give human ears the shape and look of cat ears (not the functionality?

If you were basically grown to look like a catgirl and that is part of your PT backstory you shouldn't need to pay anything for cosmetic changes like that.

Also you're playing a STR 3 Melee character. You don't need to worry about power gaming.  ;)

Knowledge Skills: General City Knowledge, Vice Dens, Vices

Instead of going for languages that way, get a Skilljack implant and get linguasofts.

I'd say cat ears would be a Moderate Biosculpt (p 107-108 in Chrome Flesh) costing around 1000-1500 nuyen. I could be talked into it only being a Minor though. Since it's background in your PT, I think Whiskey's ruling would also be fair.

Oh they aren't melee focused in terms of combat  (or at least not intended to be, though the little difficulty of STR 3 low damage can be partially overcome courtesy of shock gloves), mostly intended to be sneaky and use pistols if combat becomes necessary....(those claws and fangs were intended mostly for flavor, though I may toss the claws at this point)

I think I'm just gonna bite the bullet and make English her native language.
