Compiled build thread

First off, I recommend all new players and G.M.s check out the Archetype Challenge thread first:

Its got a lot of builds that are solid and are core rule book only.  I'm going to be posting some updated versions of the Archetypes here that include additional source books and aren't limited by the rules of the challenge thread.

Comments and additional build contributions welcome.

General format I'll be using:  One build per post.  Missions Legal Yes/No will be noted. 

Karma and Nuyen left over from Char gen will be noted.  I'll also try to note where the Karma was spent.

Complexity rating 1 to 3, where 1 is suitable for new players, 2 requires some degree of system mastery, 3 is for builds that use multiple systems or have complex interactions.  Typical Street Sam is a 1.  Most Hackers and Mages would be a 2 for example.  A  Juicer Adept with multiple Boost powers would be a 3. 

Specialization level 1 to 3.  1 is going to be the most general Skill Monkey type builds that can effectively cover multiple areas of expertise.  2 is a typical runner with a main focus area, a good secondary, and a single dump stat.  3 is going to be a character with multiple dump stats and/or bare bones runner basics, shoot, sneak, see. 

The ratings are intended to be very broad so someone skimming the thread can quickly find something appropriate for a player.

Optional:  Advancement notes and play style recommendations. 

Negative Qualities, Knowledge Skills, Contacts will not always be filled in.  If the build was for some theory crafting or another person the points available will be noted for the player to fill in to allow for customization.  These are builds, not necessarily fleshed out characters.

Notes on dump stats.  My builds will have dump stats of 1.  Common house rules put some kind of stat min at character generation, you can easily accommodate such house rules by simply moving a point or two around.

== Description ==
Why hire a gun when you can hire a magic gun? Discrete, efficient, precise, lethal. Paint a target on something, he'll put it down. Need someone brought back alive, no problem. Target gone to ground, he'll find them. Your team need extra fire power for a run, the gunslinger is at the top of your list. He may be arrogant, but he's worth putting up with. And if you need to ask what a Goronagit is, you'll just get a knowing smirk.

==Mechanical Notes==
On a good initiative roll or on snake eyes Adrenaline Boost isn't needed, so don't use it.  Psyche and Cram put the normal initiative roll at 12+2d6 so on a 9 or more you've got your three Actions.

You've got to spend at least 6 Karma before play starts.  There are a lot of ways for this build to go.

Mechanical Notes:  So depending on how you want to cost Oni, they either cost 4 or give you 4 karma depending on what table you look at in Run Faster.  And it either counts or doesn't count for you 25 points max.  *shrug*  This build can take another 5 in Negative Qualities to cover the cost of Oni, or you could have a few more Karma to spend. 

Other notes: Secondary stats are poor on this build, but the skills cover a lot of ground and you've got good to great dice pools in what you'll need.  You could be a teams Face, you could almost be a Front line Samurai (little on the Squishy side, and a touch slow IMO).  This build sits right in between the Specialized Samurai and Face builds.

Mechanical Notes: You can swap the stat points (and skill chips) around if you wanted to do Social skills instead of Logic skills.  Theoretically you could even put the points into Str and be a decent melee build, but the skillwires would only be good for Agility based skills (IMO).

Mechanical notes:  This is far more complicated than it needs to be.  But the ability to drop a Foreboding or a Mob Control while the wind and bullets whips through your Pink Mohawk and 20 dice defense tests is entertaining.  Anyway, you're juggling Drugs and Sustaining buffs and Alchemical Preps and whatnot.  If you're given a little bit of time to prepare you're a friggen' Juggernaut.  This build is why “Geek the Mage First” is SOP.

Mechanical Notes:  You dual wield Knives.  Embrace it and move on.  Oddly, you'll want to start each combat with one knife drawn.  First Action, Simple Action Agility Boost, Simple action Rapid Draw.  If you get caught without a knife out, you'll miss out on the Two-Weapon attack on the first pass.  Keep the heavy armor on the bike for the meet.  Needs Life style and a Blades License after the first run, and then flesh out gear.  Also you could take 10 more Karma in Negative Qualities if you wanted.  Minimal annoyance from BGC on this character, pretty much just to Agility Skills.
