Compiled build thread
First off, I recommend all new players and G.M.s check out the Archetype Challenge thread first:
http://forums.shadowruntabletop.com/index.php?topic=21947.0Its got a lot of builds that are solid and are core rule book only. I'm going to be posting some updated versions of the Archetypes here that include additional source books and aren't limited by the rules of the challenge thread.
Comments and additional build contributions welcome.
General format I'll be using: One build per post. Missions Legal Yes/No will be noted.
Karma and Nuyen left over from Char gen will be noted. I'll also try to note where the Karma was spent.
Complexity rating 1 to 3, where 1 is suitable for new players, 2 requires some degree of system mastery, 3 is for builds that use multiple systems or have complex interactions. Typical Street Sam is a 1. Most Hackers and Mages would be a 2 for example. A Juicer Adept with multiple Boost powers would be a 3.
Specialization level 1 to 3. 1 is going to be the most general Skill Monkey type builds that can effectively cover multiple areas of expertise. 2 is a typical runner with a main focus area, a good secondary, and a single dump stat. 3 is going to be a character with multiple dump stats and/or bare bones runner basics, shoot, sneak, see.
The ratings are intended to be very broad so someone skimming the thread can quickly find something appropriate for a player.
Optional: Advancement notes and play style recommendations.
Negative Qualities, Knowledge Skills, Contacts will not always be filled in. If the build was for some theory crafting or another person the points available will be noted for the player to fill in to allow for customization. These are builds, not necessarily fleshed out characters.
Notes on dump stats. My builds will have dump stats of 1. Common house rules put some kind of stat min at character generation, you can easily accommodate such house rules by simply moving a point or two around.
