O'Connor downed his drink and slammed the glass on the table, "What's the hurry Clem? We, well most of us, just finished a couple high dollar jobs back to back. I've literally never had so much nuyen on hand. You got crazy mountains of debt or something?" Despite his flippant manner about the matter, he did turn to Torley, "Though I suspect she's right. You do seem the type to be "the guy" everyone knows that happens to know another guy."

Not the name she wanted, but at least better than some of the other ones proposed, Sammy thought as she got another cocktail, but this time with a less long name.
'I don't have a fixer as such," Sammy said, "A friend of mine who owns a magic shop has contacts.  I will let him know about our decision.  Having one fixer is not a problem for me, although I don't think that having more lines of potential work will be a problem, at least in the beginning.  Should we get multiple offers at the same time, which I don't expect until we get a bit more ... well, fame for want of a better word, we can pick one and tell the other that due to previous commitments we can't work for them right now."

[Mercy Merchant]

Snow nods as she sips at her vodka.  "I am perfectly happy to let Sam or Sammy find the next employer.  My contacts are with the Vory and EVO and I do not know if you want to get too involved working for the crime syndicate or a AAA.  If neither bothers anyone, I can certainly put feelers out."

Sam smiled, "I know a couple who can probably find work for us, depending on what we're looking for. If we want high-end, I know a guy who knows, well, most people who have money and are willing to enjoy it. But if we want something closer to...street level, I know a former Yak who still has connections. He's good at gear, too." Sam's slight pause and posture were subtle, but it was clear that he thought Con would be more comfortable with the second option. Then he shrugged, "Hell, if we want to go on the good ol' 'straight and narrow', I could hook us up there, too. Take your pick, I'll make the call."

"I'm not sure if it's possible to contact more than one," Sammy said, "it would multiply our chances of finding work as long as we're open about the fact that we have contacted multiple people.  Or if one of them demands exclusivity.  For a beginning team like us I doubt that the situation will occur where we have two jobs at the same time."

Clem gave a non-committing shrug. That business of finding work was an area she was not skilled at, so she preferred to defer to others' judgment on that matter.

"We'll all let our people know that we got a crew now, and we'll see which lines bite." He turned to Clem, "Anything else we need to cover?"

[Mercy Merchant]

Snow smiles at the others.  If we are at the end of the meeting, I will call my boyfriend.  He is going to pick me up and take me dancing.  Something called line dancing, I think.  Anyway, all of you are invited as well, if you like."  She sends the message to Andrew that she is ready to be picked up.

O'Connor grimaced at the thought of being anywhere near a place that played country music, "Thanks, but I got a whole list of contacts I need to meet up with and, hopefully, a bunch of enemies to kill later too."

As everyone started to disperse, O'Connor pulled Torley aside, "Hey man, I need a favor. You know any adepts or brainy people that study magic? I need a bit of help figuring some drek out. I think there's something up with my adept powers. I guess the best way to describe it is as a million ants crawling underneath my skin, and it feels like a billion when I use my powers. The only time I've felt something like this was back when I was a kid and coming into my power. This feels similar, but it's like I'm missing something, or it's waiting for me to do something. I learned and use my power on instinct. Hell, I still probably wouldn't know I was an adept if someone hadn't told me. Point is, if I haven't done whatever it is I need to naturally, I'm not likely to figure it out."

"Unless everyone is going, I'll pass," Sammy said, "I'd better be home for my brother.  And I'm not really a good dancer anyways."
Not to mention that line dancing is not my thing, she didn't add.

"Yeah, watching Snow smooching that Hollywood guy doesn't interest me neither" whispered Clem to Sammy.

"Yeah, sorry, I have other commitments for tonight" said Clem to Snow. "But I heard Con is actually a good dancer."

Sam hadn't missed Con's reactions to Sammy throughout the meeting, so he wasn't surprised that he was approached instead of her. He did think that the gunman had misread or overreacted to her at several points, though, so he tried to smooth things out. "You know, until we got back from our naturalist mountain adventure, I had no clue that I had any sort of magic mojo. So I'm not the greatest person to ask." He nodded towards the ork and continued, "She's going through some issues right now--she's trying to put a good face on it, but this thing with her brother is clearly a major sore spot--but Sammy would be able to help you much better than I. Hell, she could probably just look at you with her astrology sight or whatever and tell you what's up."

O'Connor wasn't about to make nice with the condescending and bitchy mage, "Uh-huh, sure. Well, hit me up when you want to get another training session in." With everything said and done, O'Connor headed for his car, *Maybe Darrel or Ulrich will know someone.*

At Con's refusal, Sam sighed. If those two can't get along, this is going to be a rough group to work with, he thought to himself. Out loud, he said, "Hey, cool it, man. I know an amerind shaman who might be able to help you out. I'll have her contact you, ok?"

O'Connor turned back to the face and nodded, "Thanks. Oh, hey I forgot to give you something at our training session." O'Connor pulled out two inhalers of Jazz and handed them to Torley, "This is the stuff security firms like LS and KE give their mundanes so that they have a chance against augmented types. You came to me for training, so you must really want to be better in combat. Next time you're in a bad spot, pop one of these."
