Steve nods.  "Super careful.  Got it.  I will let my kids do the first look-see."

The doctor lives in a posh house on Queen Anne Hill.  The nice part of the neighborhood that has not been taken over by the slow creep of decay from the surrounding neighborhoods.  As at the house of Tabitha's father, you make a once by and Steve tells you that it seems clear.  The entrance gate to the driveway is open.

Okay hang back but keep the feed going like we did with Simon.  I'll go check with the doc and give you the okay to come with.

Spokane rides up to the house and rings the bell.

Steve nods and hangs back while you drive through the gate and up the long driveway to the house.  Climbing off the bike, you walk up a short flight of wide steps to the large porch and ring the bell, getting no answer.

Spokane will check around back and check doors and windows to see if he can see in or if they have been carelessly left open.  He switches to AR mode, looking for an open com .

He calls outHey doc.  I know you are probably nervous but those gunmen who attacked you at washington rec and mercy shot up my friends clinic.  I just want to ask you a few questions.  I can pay you if you want.  he will repeat it on a com if he finds a link.

You see nothing while walking about and all of the doors and windows seem secure.  Steve contacts you while you are around at the rear of the building.  >>Hey.  Got a window cracked open a bit on the second floor.  I can send in a couple of drones to get a look around if you like?<<

Yeah do it.  Send me the feeds, please.  Spokane goes back around to the front of the house and watches the feeds.

The drone feeds initially show you a small window on the second floor as the pair of flying spies dart through the inch the window is raised.  The room they enter is a bedroom, but a bit too small to be considered the master suite in a house this large.  The feeds split up as the drones  part to search the house.  Each one is able to squeeze under doors and give a quick look around.  After several rooms, one drone heads downstairs and the other enters what is likely to be the master bedroom.  The scene here is anything but normal.  The bed linens are tossed about and a small table is overturned, along with a chair.  Clothing has been left haphazardly on the floor and you recognize pieces of women's as well as men's wear.  >>Spokane, you seeing this?<<

>>Yeah let's keep looking though.  I think we've left a bedroom or two looking like that ourselves let's not jump to conclusions just yet.<<

The drones continue to look about, with the second one heading down to join the first that is already on the ground floor.  Nothing seems out of the ordinary until a drone finds an open door leading down some stairs to a furnished basement.  There you see a rather horrific sight of a young woman secured to a chair facing an older man also secured to a chair a couple of feet from her.  Both are naked.  The man matches the description of the doctor and it appears that he has been systematically tortured.  A number of small red dots cover his chest and his hands are a mess.  Steve switches the feed to thermographic and you can see that the man is cold but the girl is still warm.  >>My God, Spokane.  That girl is still alive!<<

Come help!  Spokane grabs a medkit off his bike and kicks open the door rushing to the woman and treating her with it.
Stay with me.  stay with me.  Spokane tries to get her to open her eyes and look at him.

first aid: 5d6t5 3 Not too shabby, if Steve can add dice with the assist that would be good too.

The door is sturdy and resists the first three kicks, but eventually gives in.  you can run to through the house to where the stairs to the basement are and head down.  There is a large plastic sheet on the floor, but it has failed to catch all of the blood from the victims.  Steve is with you as you finish hooking the leads to the woman, who is unconscious but breathing............barely.  You can see numerous small burn marks on her chest and her face is a mass of bruising and small cuts.  The woman stirs a bit as the kit begins pumping drugs into her in an effort to save her life.  Steve does a quick check on the man while you are talking to the woman.  "The guy is toast, Spokane.  The lead does not detect a heartbeat at all.  What the hell happened here?"

You remember the shootings at Washington rec and Mercy?  That guy was at both of them along with a woman who was injured and another gunman who he credited with saving a lot of the people there.  These are the same mercs who shot up Doc Sturges place and I think they are looking for the other two.  I had been thinking about talking to this guy when we first met but only out of curiosity about the whole thing but it was never a priority and I'd dropped it until doc contacted me and I put two and two together.  Kinda wished I'd listened to that instinct now.

See if you can find her some clothes, we should get her to the doc.  I don't suppose Phil or Al has a car we can put her in, I don't know if she will be awake enough to ride with us...Maybe we should buy a car, you can set that up to autopilot right?  Would you need any special gear?

Tuesday   12 June 2075  1300  Doctor Mayland's House  Seattle

Steve nods and heads off back upstairs to get the clothes left in the bedroom.  The woman has not yet regained consciousness by the time she returns, but the kit at least lets you know she is still alive.  While the two of you are dressing her, Steve says, "Look at what they did to her.  ID in her clothes says she is Claire Trevor, and she is a nursing student at Mercy General.  Wanna bet he is..........er, was......... her supervisor?  Anyway lets..........."

She stops talking and puts a hand on your arm.  "Drek.  The fragging KE are at the drive and coming in.  Four cars and a van, all moving silent with no sirens.  What do we do?"

Is there a way out?  can we make a break for it or are we boxed in?  Do you have a SIN?  If we are captured my name is Charles Dewey, other than that just tell them the truth...wash over the legally questionable stuff.

Your lower vision goes a bit chaotic as the drones inside the house go looking for an alternate exit from the basement.  A third feed pops on in your view and it shows the arriving police cars.  The van looks like one of the large armored cars the KE uses in dangerous situations.  Steve looks at you and shakes her head.  "We could always try a window, but they will have the bikes.  Your call and your play, Spokane, although I am not sure I am in favor of a shootout with the KE just now."
