I'm down to play the alternate mundane version of that same character I'm playing in Finder's Fee.
That is, if it's acceptable. 

Honestly, I built her as a mundane and then just switched to a Magician to fit the missing niche there.  The mundane version is more fun IMO, since mages are generally up their own ass all the time with that "awakened" thing. 

But if JDA is still active, that whole slot is already well covered.  Basically the same character and all.

Took restricted gear for a rating 10 item (chameleon cloak), if that ain't ok, I'll use the 5BP for something else.

No worries, this game has been at a snails pace since inception. I'm beginning to wonder if its not the overall concept, or (please not it be) your GM's skills.

As to it possibly being a concept issue I could start up an alternative. A game based off dealing with the paranormal (magic and critters for SR) everyone already accepted would be an automatic in.

I've certainly got nothing against the concept.  I like gang games.  I think dudes are just waiting for the clock to crank forward and shoe to drop.  Then again, character interaction has been ignored or shoved aside so far, so I can see how it's hard for you to introduce plot elements..

Truth be told, I'm having a little trouble getting into the whole latin mindset... the only thing I can think of when thinking about Brazil at the moment is the images of the carnaval there the last days... lots of skin, breasts and asses, all shaking and bouncing, very little shadowrunning.

The concept of playing a street ganger with limited gear actually sounds pretty cool, though I'm wondering if we'll be playing street gangers that are trying to be shadowrunners, or really playing street gangers doing street gang stuff, you know... a whole different ball game.
I think that's also the reason most people (including me) came up with combat characters; the only thing I see a street-gang-level face doing would involve prostitution or use of maxed-out intimidation instead of any of the other social skills.

Dealing with paranormal... sounds terrifying!

The only latin guys I've got room for in my mind right now are those 2 brothers the cartel sends after Walt in Breaking Bad...
Edit: and drek, they are Mexican, not latin!
I've no clue how to build one of those guys... or how to play such a cool personage on a PbP without actually saying anything.
