Casa said "The problem is that the farm is not a public company so I do not know exactly how profitable its operation is. Their front is of growing crops and this indicates steady income. I expect it to pay you considerably more than a traditional run - but due to the unusual nature of this work it is hard for me to give you concrete numbers. The illegal action is to be stopped, we cannot legally claim the farm if we do not stop the act of slavery.

We cannot sell the pixies but it does not mean we need to just unconditionally free, we will need to figure it out as we go along I was thinking of hiring the little critters to do something for us as I honestly do not see them as blending in the city - my opinion is as good as yours though, we are not there yet.

Gem then speaks ans says "The sell has two parts, first the vampires leave a credstick at an agreed location in the sewers, then the smugglers take the credstick and place a metal cage containing the pixie in its place. The vampires have to take the cage before some hungry rat takes their dinner, but no eye contact is formed between the smugglers and the vampires. I do not know how the initial contact is made but perhaps we can leverage the fact that these smugglers know nothing about their clients except for the drop location."

Casa said "Nobody has to survive the takeover, but if you prefer the farm as a running business you clearly want to minimize impact to the farm facilities and workers. Since I do not plan to be there I do not have an opinion of what you do, just keep in mind that we are going to make more money if the farm is taken in operational condition.

To Kynos, Casa said "I tried to find a mage, but they are hard to come by, I do not know what Red planned to do with these, but many mages are missing. "

Simone looks around and nods.  "I am in agreement that this activity must be stopped.  But I have a caution that needs to be satisfied."  She points to the building about them.  "It is no secret that this casino is Mafia-owned and that the security is made up of mafiosi soldiers.  What is their interest in what we are doing and what is their cut of the pastry?"

[Noëmie "Nyx" d'Orville - January 12th, 2076 - Gates Casino, Bellevue, Seattle]

For a moment, Noëmie seems surprised. As if she didn't know about the mafia thing. Which...well, she didn't. Still, she shrugs: it's not really her problem. At least as long as she doesn't get caught in the middle of a gang war or something.

"Speaking of numbers..." she turns towards Casa with a small smile "While neither you nor them...or us I suppose now... have concrete numbers, we can talk in percentage. And percentages have a nice ring to them, don't you think?"

@Maxwell peering into the astral you do not see any sign of a spell and the spirits are with a magic that is weaker than your own.

Grail said "You are free to go human and I suggest you hurry to do so before my guests are arriving. They would not take too kindly of the decision to simply allow you to leave."

@Casa said "We cannot pull this operation without the Finnigan family, you do the dangerous work, but your success relies also on political power, influence in the city council, favors to judges and very expensive lawyers. As you cleverly pointed out, the Finnigans are heavily invested in this gig, if it is successful that is.

Casa looks at Nyx and then say "Percentages yes, you are wise to like the sound. Indeed I am willing to offer you percentages of the farm operational profit or sell price, 20 percentages to be exact. Should you take the farm in operational condition - you should be able to comfortably live off your share."

[Noëmie "Nyx" d'Orville - January 12th, 2076 - Gates Casino, Bellevue, Seattle]

Noëmie shakes her head with a sigh. She seems pained to have to refuse "Ha, twenty you say, that won't do Mister Casa. Of course, you came to us with the idea. And of course, the Finnigan must have their part of the pie. No one would deny all of this. But twenty percent?"

She rubs her eyes in pain "No, no, we would do the heavy lifting. Plus, we are the ones taking all the risks. If we don't succeed, you lose nothing more than an opportunity. Same goes to the Finnigan. But that is not so for us. Succeed or fail, we take risks, possibly of death or worse, should vampires learn of this and express their displeasure in their own unique ways. Now, of course, I owe you to be reasonable so I won't go too far, but I'm afraid I'll have to request forty percent."

Simone's eyes go a bit wide as the hostess begins negotiating with the Johnson.  She would never be bold enough to try that.

@all Casa smiles at Neome and he say "Look dear, I agree with everything you say, I am on your side. I am part of this deal because I am a good facilitator, Valentina believes that I can offer her a good alternative at a reasonable price. Good alternative I have, you all are here. Most of you, one of the people I wanted did not show up - I hope it does not mess up the deal. You are not the only alternative, Valentina has.

The Finnigans have planned this entire operation, long before either of us knew about it. They hold the lawyers, the judge and the operational knowledge of how to run a business. I have personal expirience with them, and I trust them to live up to their end of the deal.

20 percent are a lot of money to be made in just three days,   you get a unique opportunity to own property.  How many opertunities like that did you encounter in your careers? It is a generous portion of a pie that you cannot digest on your own. It can have a long term impact on your wealth, do not blow off this opportunity over an abstract notion of fairness.

Kynos smiled at "Nyx"'s moxy. 'Hah, I knew there was some kind of fire in that one.'
Ignoring for the moment the issue with Irris, he followed bemused the exchange, but not without adding two centi-nuyen of his own:
"All's fair in love and war - but what our lovely new face hasn't mentioned yet - probably because she is too polite - is that this is a time sensitive operation and one where we are going against Grail and his flunkies. Keeping the farm operational against their retaliation will likely reduce the profits - unless we as shareholders intervene again and likely without additional pay. This future overhead on our part definitely deserves a raise of shares.
I know the Finnigans, they still don't have enough soldiers to secure a new acquisition like that against vamps with their forces alone. You need us not only for the grab but also for the keep."

Teamwork Negotiate: 5d6t5 5[5d6t5=5, 5, 5, 6, 5]
At my limit.
Gain +1 Limit and +5 dice

"Oh and one more thing: I have the direct commcode to a powerful mage. Am I allowed to call him up for this gig or should I keep mum?"

Wheely stays silent during the negotiation, he always had a hard time with that part but it looks like those two know what they are doing. He grabs a chocolate soybar (Almondless™) and start chewing while listening intensively.

my math may be a bit fuzzy but I think you are overestimating the amount of money a farm can make, I also think this percentage is a little anemic.

[Noëmie "Nyx" d'Orville - January 12th, 2076 - Gates Casino, Bellevue, Seattle]

Noëmie nods at Kynos, still looking at Casa "I do not doubt you for a second Mister Casa. But as you yourself said, the Finnigans are invested if it works. If it doesn't, they took no risk at all, and won't loose anything they don't have already. This is not the case for us. And you are obviously pressed by time."

She smiles, nodding at Casa "Of course, you may be able to getr another team, I do not doubt it. But you went to us first. You don't want your B team on this I believe. Well of course, this team will have to be paid accordingly, I trust you wouldn't think otherwise Mister Casa, ands that you only said all that for the sake of negociations."

Negotiation (+4 teamwork dice): 19d6t5 5 I hoped to avoid spending a point of edge there... Well...
Negotiation (+4 teamwork dice, edge to reroll misses): 14d6t5 6 for a total of 11 successes which is just at the limit.

Committing all that he's sees to memory.  Both the class of the spirits and how they are weaker than that of his own magical power.  Shifting back to meat space, Maxwell lets go of Amy and gathers his things once again.  The duffel bag bulged and weighed on his shoulder.  His ballistic mask refitted onto his face as well.  With heavy steps and an even heavier heart, Maxwell leaves the two alone.  Before making the final step into the elevator, he glances over to Grail and gives him an omen of war.  "To you, churl, and all of your blighted ilk and sycophants.  I am Sovereign.  And I'm going to build a monument to death and destruction.  With your corpse being it's foundation."

Many dark thoughts brew within the chaos mage's head on the elevator ride down.  Unholy whispers of insect spirits are heard at the corners of consciousness.  Soon, he'd have to unleash their hunger.  If they are not fed by the 21st, when the freezing moon is full.  Maxwell's soul they will gorge themselves on instead.  A steep price.  One he will do all it takes to not pay himself.

The elevator comes to a halt at the ground floor.  Maxwell makes his way out of the compound and down through the sewers.  Smells of rancid filth clog his nostrils and nearly make him gag on reflex.  He turns on the air filter of his mask and sends a message to his fixer.

@Prop Joe - <<Hey Joe, it's Sovereign.  I need a new place to stay.  A nice secluded area if you know what I mean.  Preferably better than my old apartment.  But I'll work with what you give me.>>

@All Casa seems overwhelmed by the combination of your arguments, he says "Look guys, I may have undersold this one, and the way you negotiate perhaps some of you can fit in my own job as well. I cannot open the contract with Valentina, it was part of my commitment but we can change the split between us.

My share is 30% that should accommodate both of us,  since you raise valid concerns and I was clearly not at the top of my game, I am willing to reduce my share from 10% to 3%, this means that you have 27% to split among yourself, time is of the essence, and this proposal is final. It is none of my business actually, but I suggest that you use your extra pie to further expand the team a little bit, like bring in the mage in question if you can, find an extra warrior.

Am I done here? Asks Casa to verify if his terms are accepted.

"Fair enough - for me at least. Also: Sure, I'm always looking for paying gigs. If it hurts those vampire fuckers - all the better."
Kynos nodded:
"And since we are managing this as a group: I hope you guys and gals don't mind if I call my friend and chummer the mage to assist us with this caper. That whole thing should be right up his alley."
