Plus, the one I'm mostly working for let someone pull a delicious prank on me that involved almost killing me, while I was working for him, in front of him, and did nothing. I don't need people like that in my life. And leaving is better than killing her, which I would if I met her again. So..."

His com beeps again, he looks at it, shakes his head and ignores it again.

Sky snorts "Maybe it thought he was a good joke, I don't care. Name's Scout, but I think Bitch matches better myself." waving at Isac's 'link, she adds "You should answer if it's someone who needs you help."

Isac pulls into The Redmond Phoenix house, a Japanese-American restaurant, practically posh...for the Barrens.  He turns to look at you, disbelief clear in his eyes, Scout tried to kill you...and you're still alive. Come on.

You follow him inside and you are seated, the waiter takes your drink orders and Isac continues, Maybe you should start from the beginning.

Sky shrugs "She thought moving my body while I was in the Astral would be a good joke I suppose. Turns out, it's the worst thing you can do to a Mage in the astral, short of killing her outright. And since it can very well end up being fatal... So next time I see her, I'll kill her. Or try to, and she'll kill me. Since that option is not really to my taste, and murder being bad for the soul... But worst of all I think, is that she did it with Gunderson's blessing, while I was in front of him, working for him. No way I'll work for him again. Do you think I could stay around here and not work for him, one way or another?" She snorts, making clear how she would answer to that question.

Sky takes the 'link but dowent yet look at it "So what if it doesn't sound like him? What does it matter if it's business as usual for him or just something he does from time to time?"

Do you think he needs you?  That he can't replace a runner?  If he approved this, which I don't believe for a second, why would he reach out to your known associates to make amends?  Then again, I didn't think you would judge someone without even letting them explain either, so who knows maybe I'm just a shitty judge of character.

Sky snorts "He could just have said no. And I'm far from irreaplaceable, and you know it. He has other Mages on his payroll. As for why he would want to keep me around, it's pretty easy, he's about to have a turf war to deal with I think, or something like that. Which means the more bodies he has to put between himself and whoever wants a piece of this place, the better he'll feel."

She shakes her head, and continues in a bitter tone "Looks like you're pretty eager to judge though. I thought better of you..." she shrugs "Since it seems true the other way too, I'd guess that makes us even... Strange how you can spend time with people and never know them, no?"

She sighs, and reads the text.

A message on the tiny display just says "tell her I tried to stop he and I'm sorry" just above the video link.  It begins to play and the tinny voice of Gunderson becomes clear with the footage of The Next Round.  Scout has picked up your body and Gunderson is yelling.

What do you think you are doing!

Shut it old man, this has nothing to do with you.

Salizar assured me you would not mess with any of my people, leave her alone.

He said not to hurt any of your people and I'm not going to, besides she started this.

Scout puts your body on her shoulder and heads for the door.  Gunderson is quick to get in front of her but she just pushes him aside like he's not even there, though he towers over her. 

Scout!  God damn it! He storms up to the stairs and bellows out Salizar!

The Troll stands in his way.  You know I can't let you past Gunderson.  I'll link him

Dammit Jacob get out of my, Salizar assured me his people wouldn't interfere.

He says come on up, he's already getting a hold of Scout.

Sky stays silent for a minute once the video has played. In the end, she sends back a message >>I suppose I can accept your apologies. Not sure it changes things though. I may have judged you too quickly, but it doesn't change the fact that I'd still want to kill her if I ever see her again.<<

No, I don't blame you, I feel the same way.  Unfortunately I know Scout would hand me my head in short order if I  tried.  She has however been reassigned to a different area, the bar is neutral ground.  Besides I owe you some money right?  Take your time.  I know you are upset and I never expected that to escalate quite so quickly.  Also for future reference I spend a lot of time in AR and VR.  The guards are there for everyone's protection but they are Salizars guards first and foremost the do not answer to me.  I would suggest astrally projecting in a safer location from now on.

And for what you wanted: the first place has no overt magical defences, a team of four security goons with some cyber. There's a room in the basement, but its entrance is blocked by a ward. In the second locations, there are a lot of low level spirits patrolling the ground. And when I say the lot, I mean a frakking lot, almost sixty of them. I estimate at least thirty to thirty-five summoners. The spirits are patrolling in a half-mile radius of the place. In the third one, there are two to three patrols in the field at all times, and I'm pretty sure the office is protected by a ward.<<

Yeah I never thought Scout would take it that far.  I never think to tell the newbies that neutral ground doesn't always mean safe around these parts.  I'll pay you three grand for the info but ya gotta come to the bar to get it or tell me who you want to get it for you.  If you can't handle the bar then this line of work is probably not for you though.
