Hiya. I've been away awhile. Like, since 2014 awhile. So I just wanted to ask...what's been happening with Shadowrun in general?

Stuff I am aware of:

-All the core rulebooks are now out which means the main SR5 rulebook is now updated with a Master Index. So...how's SR5 now with all of the rulebooks out? Feel like a more well-rounded game with the extra equipment and o

-Shadowrun: Anarchy is a thing now: a more rules-lite version of the SR rules. Which on paper sounds great, especially with SR's historically overly-complex rules. I have a PDF of it...but really haven't looked at it much. Does it hold true to being rules-lite in comparison to the regular game, or does it have it's own complexities to get confused by?

-For the SR5 metaplot, we still on the CFD crisis? Saw glimpses of it here and there in the Court of Shadows book and I think the blurb for Cutting Aces references it. If so...uh...is it really being dragged out for this long? I would think it would be over by now and moved on to a different metaplot event.

Most importantly:

What happened with Sprawl Gangers and Hostile Takeover?

Last update for the former was back in 2014. With mentions of running into production troubles regarding the minis, but that the rules were in a pretty good state. And with it now being 2017, almost 3 years later, I can only assume that everything fell through for CGL and they were NOT able to find a good partner to produce the minis. Otherwise, why else has there been an almost 3 year silence on the status of those games? And if it's been canceled...well, why not bite the bullet and just announce it so?

...and whatever other interesting bits are happening in Shadowrun. I'm curious to hear whatever crazy stories have been brewing since then :)

...there's nothing else besides my quote. You forgot to type something in?

Nope, that pretty much sums up your question about those products.

Regarding Anarchy: Since you already have it, just give it a try and decide for yourself. Personally, it isn't doing much for me and I like the core 5e system a lot more, but a lot of people (whom I silently judge ;) ) like it very much. Each after there own taste...

And yes, CFD is still the main plot, removing a lot of 4e technology and bringing back retro tech from 3e. With that you can expect it to stay the main theme for this edition.

Also the bugs could make a comeback if I understood Cutting Aces correctly.

Yeah...not a whole lot going on this past year, especially plot-wise.
The big plot I wanted resolved, or at least moved forward, was the Corporate Court Audit.

The focus has been on the "Splatbooks", such as the Matrix book, more on magic and augmentations, vehicles, etc.

Now that the mechanical books are out of the way, metaplot and settings should be the focus.

Some recent campaign developments:
  • Cognitive Fragmentation Disorder (CFD) seems to be on the downward slope, but has no official resolution yet. The monads' Exodus is supposed to happen in 2080 (see Chrome Flesh).
  • The Boston Lockdown began in June 2076 ... I don't imagine it was meant to last two years or more, but the resolution is still pending and time marches on (see Lockdown).
  • The Megacorporate Revision was announced in March 2077. This is an audit of extraterritorial status for all AA-rated megacorps; it's supposed to be complete within five years (see Market Panic).
  • NeoNET broke ground on their new St. Louis HQ in January 2078, but their collapse seems inevitable and imminent (see Market Panic and Cutting Aces).
  • In July 2078, earthquakes in Yellowstone Park marked the appearance of a permanent astral gateway between Earth and Faerie (see Court of Shadows).
