Question on viability of character

I am in the process of creating my first (of hopefully many) Shadowrunner.

My concept of the character is a human mundane face who can stealth around if the social side is not working. He has suffered the loss of his arms and eyes, but cyberware and plastic surgery has made him look mostly normal. (Has some trauma, but that is mostly for role-playing).

While I am using Chummer as recommended by many, I am honestly puzzled on how I should allocate points to attributes and then what skills that I should spec into.

Note: I am not trying to overly min-max my character, but I don't want to be the fifth wheel at the table if all I can do is be a jack-of-all trades. Thanks for the help and advice in advance.

StabFace.... This was a Neo Tokyo Missions character concept that never quite got finished or played.  Face, 4 Cyberlimbs, Katana.  Tweak the Qualities to what fits your character, but this does the things.  Face, Sneaky, Cyberlimbs, check, check, check.  5 Edge, blitzing is basically your initiative.  Or drop Psyche / Cram / Jazz / Whatever as needed.

The maxed out Intimidation is not standard for a Face and could easily be swapped out for some other skill.  Swap Blades out for whatever your Combat skill of choice is.

Basically, yes, Face with Cyberarm (or Cyberarms) of Shooting/Stabbing is a viable character.  Very doable and gets respectable dice pools for your main gig.

Chummer is calculating the Skill Pools oddly.  10 Agility Limbs, 3 Agility Meat, however your GM wants to calculate that.

Note that Chummer doesn't do cyberlimbs very well.  It assigns an augmented bonus to STR/AGI when the averaged result isn't actually an augmented bonus.  And therefore, the Physical limit is too high.  1 Str, 5(7) Rea, and 2 Bod = Physical Limit of 4.  And a Physical Limit of 4 puts a damper on things...
RPG mechanics exist to give structure and consistency to the game world, true, but at the end of the day, you’re fighting dragons with algebra and random number generators.

Redliner, so 1(3) Str, 1(3) Agility on the Meat body (Augmented).  Physical limit should be 5 isn't it?  Which should be enough for a Face.  Only Skill that rolls against Physical Limit generally is Sneaking or Palming.  Well, Gymnastics but with a pool of 11 or less, limit of 4 or 5 is pretty academic.  Arguably you would be using the Str 10 of the Limbs to calculate Physical limit for many of those tests. 

4 Cyberlimbs gets into a lot of table dependent talks for the ticky-tacky stuff.  I didn't have a Single Cyber Arm Face sitting around in Chummer but this would get the OP close/show proof of concept. 

For a Single Cyberlimb character I'd drop three limbs, add on Used Muscle replacement to get Str/Agility up to 3 or 4, toss a little more Karma at the 1 Attributes and then add on stuff like Narco, Cerebellum Booster, and some kind of initiative booster.  Expensive, low Essence Bioware and Geneware.

Plan C would be flip Resources and Attributes, and start with used Pheromones at 1 or 2 and the used Cyberarm with less toys.  Then upgrade the 'ware during play.

Lots of ways to build this particular character.

This is correct.

Arguably you would be using the Str 10 of the Limbs to calculate Physical limit for many of those tests.

I make this argument, personally, but not everyone does. 

Hobbes has a very solid template here for a 5E character. There are lots of possible tweaks, both large and small. For example, if taking Incompetent (Firearms) then I would personally want Thrown Weapons to help leverage some of the Strength and Agility that comes from the cyberlimbs.

Chummer doesn't include the grade of cyberware on its print outs, which is a shame. I'm guessing those cyberlegs are Used and everything else is Standard grade.

I'd be curious to see the karma spending for this character.

I think the Legs and the Tailored Pheromones are used....   Karma was 20-odd on PQs, -25 on NQs, 10 Karma to bump a 1 to a 2 on one of the Attributes, some on skills, and 6 Karma left at the end. 

I built a 4 Cyberlimb Decker for Season 9 Neo Tokyo, and figured the basic idea should work for a Face too.  It did, never got around to playing the Face version though.  The Decker works great.  10 Str when Swords are common carry?  Yes please.
