"You'll both be accompanying us to the station for questioning," he turned to the Dwarf passenger," how do you know the driver miss, her SIN is a forgery?"

"Just fucking great," Kitten said, "It's the third time this month I get a 'forged' ID result.  Probably they gave you old scanning software in a new box.  I had the same problem back in '63 when I was part of the team liberating Calumet Port in Chicago together with all those Ares firewatch teams.  You would think they have solved a problem like that by now?  Most of the time if you scan it again, it will be accepted.

The streets are clear, everyone seems to have run away from the gunshots.
Space finds some wiring leading into the walls as he investigates the self destruct.

The rest of the house is stocked with normal clothes and the fridge is stocked with food and beer.

You do manage to find a gun duct taped under a table, looks new and is fully loaded.

The drones systems are completely separate from the node and have no wireless, now your're plugged in it accepts the codes. Checking the logs it definitely used to be on the network but was removed from it... last night.

Across town, "Chicago?" The cop in front of the car moves round. "You were there in '63? Who were you with?"
"Greg we don't have time for this, Tosh'll bust our skulls."
"The Lt. can wait 5 minutes."

Space take the gun and cover the smartlink camera with a towel from the kitchen.

And while he is still connected to the leftover of the turrent, he checks the log files, to see who has removed the turrent from the network, if necessary Space jumps back into the building node to check the corresponding account infos.
Since he doesn't have the commcodes from the rest of the team yet, Space has to wait to show his discovery to them.

Then he went to the lower bedroom to find the building node and find out about the wirring.

After checking the rest bed and the bathroom, Space looks inside the other bedroom to see that Silk has found something. Silk, are you or Noise into demolishens? I would like to check the commcode in a more relaxed athmosphere,
but it seems that it's connected to something, most likely something explosive.

By the way, where are the two down drones, Space wounders?

"Merril's Marauders," Kitten said, pointing to the unit patch on her jacket, ",We kept the left flank towards the Zone. You were there too?"
This was one of the options she was hoping for, a KE officer who had served with other Ares military units.  As she really had been in Chicago, she could keep this up.

Silk found the vault immediately and opened it while Space was searching the living room and Noise was making her way outside. She grabbed a couple of credsticks, then closed and concealed it again. She searched the room making sure to find the vault after she'd searched the rest of it. She was on her way to revealing it again when Space spoke to her.

Silk started saying "No, I'm not in dem...." when she realized the question. "What? Demolitions as in bombs? Please don't mess with that stuff if you have to ask things like that!"
She beckoned for him to come closer.
"Help me with this will you? I found this vault... the guy this place belongs to gave me a code, I think it's for the vault. But can you check if it's rigged or something before I send the code? Would be great to get some decent pay out of this job."

PM @ Noise: Hey, you gonna be okay? There's some beds here if you want to lie down and have those wounds treated. That gunfire was terrible, I was worried I wouldn't be fast enough to save you! I'm just not as quick with a gun as you are, I'm afraid.
She just couldn't let an opportunity pass to point out that she'd done the rescuing, but knew to wrap it with concern and a compliment.

What, triggered like in bombs? Please don't mess ... sure no problem let me see. While Space checks the vault, both visually and in the matrix, he keeps talking to Silk, It's not that I don't know something about explosives myself, but unfortnatly my electronic kit didn't survived the trip through Manhatten last month. So, if you have a kit, hardware stuff should be fine, I can do it myself.

Whoops

The two shut down drones one in the large closet and one in the main room, both are both dobermans with AKs mounted.

Whoever changed the turret upgraded it's software but scrubbed ll traces of themselves.

The vault seems safe when Space looks it over.

The cop in the warehouse district had holstered his gun. "My brothers firewatch... He told me what happened to the Marauders... Let me scan it again for you..."
"That's against -"
"Bugs."
"Fine, Fine."

I checked the rest of the house, one pistol under the table, the two drones, a broken turret and the commnode in the other bedroom is all I found.
Quote
Searched rooms by Space: Main room, Kitchen, the two closets near the bath room, the bath and the lower bed room.
After a few seconds, Space was sure that there wasn't any traps.
Looks save to me, here lets use the codes and ... voila.
Space opens the vault, checks
if there is any nasty surprise inside and step aside to let Silk do the rest.
We probably should get moving then, someone seem to played with the turret last night, removing it from
the building system and those stuff.

"Santi in cielo mi preservare!  I pay you to drive, not talk army with these mans.  What is happening now?"
Angela turns to the cop at the window.
"Why you are here with these questions?  Who do you think this woman is that you must speak with her now?  You are looking for someone, and think it is her?  Porcheria.  I have an appointment.  Is over there.  See building?  She parks for me, I go to appointment.  You talk army all you like."

It had been a long, long night and possible "overtime pay" and an angry corp-dwarf were enough for them.
They let you park and Angela carry on while they stay in the alley with Kitten to take their bribe.

Silk emptied the vault, double-checking it for any hidden compartments, read the credsticks and whistled.
Comms @ Team: "25 grand in the safe house, pair of doberman drones and some guns too. We'll have to find a way to split that. What's your ETA guys? Apparently this place has got a self-destruct, I'm all for triggering it when we're done checking it out."

She nodded at the hacker and passed him the commcodes. "What can you do with this? Can you get the locations of the stuff that's tagged with these? I'm going to watch this place from outside, never know who heard that gunfire... So the drone was set to kill whoever entered and that was done last night, any traces who did that? Not that I don't have an idea...."
She walked over to Noise's car.

"I can understand why you have to do this," Kitten said as she pulled two credsticks out of her pocket and handed them over.  On each there was 700 nuyen.
"I've seen it on the news.  It was a terrible thing.  The only ones who would merit a treatment like that are bug hives."

Angela was in the lobby of the body shop when she got Silk's message.  She responded with a text message of her own.
<<@Team:  So no police in wait?  I gotta assume that means the surviving members of the crew haven't been as forthright with the police as our man Salt here.  Maybe they died before they could talk?  I don't figure Ragley for leaving witnesses to a mass murder like that.  To that end, it would sort of be a mistake to just toss this witness away after he's been so cooperative and all.  While Silk was using her talented tongue to draw every last drop of info out of the guy, I was using my natural gift for antagonizing people to get him all sorts of pissed off at Ragley, himself and myself.  Way I figure, we might be able to use Salt to ruin Ragley's good name.  Better for us if we're grabbing a guy who has no friends than a politician who's hooked into the anti-meta crew.  Either way, we need to talk to Joe for details on this next thing.  Silky, you ready to teleconference?>>

Comms: "Nope, no cops. Someone did sabotage the defense turret to open fire on whoever stepped through the front door, but that's been taken care of. Maybe Mr. Politician's way of saying 'Thank you for your cooperation.'?"
She doubted Noise would want the team to hear about how it went down exactly and neither did she. Hopefully Space would be smart enough to get that from the comm chatter.

Comms: "As for Mr. Lonestar, If what you say is right, the guy was broken beyond repair three times last night and he went to sleep with the knowledge he'd never wake up again. Alive, he's a danger to us and could draw the attention of powerful people who so far might only consider us a nuisance or temporary tools hired by their competitors. I don't think there's anything more useful we can get from him at this point than the cash we'll get for his 'ware.
Ragley's only my concern if I'm being paid for him being so. But yeah, we should listen to what the Johnson's got to say. But wait a second before going in, the hacker's still got a last lead to follow."

<<@Team: Acknowledged.  Though, if we sell him for organs, he'll still be kept alive until they find a matching recipient.  We might still have access to him later.  By the way, with your talk about discrimination earlier, I thought you might be more interested in "plan pariah" than you seem to be.  Was all of that for the ghoul's benefit?>>
