Still haven't GMed a game, but I'm preparing a game set in Amazonia (focused in Porto Alegre, with some action at Metrópole). Quite a lot of creation possibilities there, since the place is almost untouched by the setting books.

It's always good to set a game in your own turf. I cba coming up with everything, though, sadly.

I'd consider running a game where I live.... but southern Indiana is as boring in 2070 as it is today lol

Ever since Runner Havens came out, we've been running all our games in Hong Kong (because the write-up is awesome and we'd been doing Seattle for so long).  That said, we're not above travel on occasion.  We had a series of runs set in the UCAS (Seattle) and the PCC (both LA and Vegas), and have also gone to Mumbai and (soon) Neo-Tokyo.

Haven't GMed SR4... yet, but the plot I'm storyboarding starts in Milwaukee and heads in and out of Chicago, so I guess Chicago, South Milwaukee, and Milwaukee will be the primary setting, with a good smattering of parts nearby.

I'm running my game in the Minneapolis Metroplex as that's where I'm initially from.  I thought about running a game set in North Carolina (where I currently live), but I wanted to give my players something a little more personal :-)

I have to ask....what do you do that makes them hate LA games?

Well, their first time in LA, they had to hostile extract a specific Goofy from DisneyLand.  Which lead to a long gun battle on the LA Freeways, being tracked to their safehouse in the suburbs, and then the lawn got up and started beating up the house.  (They pissed off THE MAGIC KINGDOM!  What else did they expect?).

The second time they had to go to Aztlan, San Diego to be exact, and find Batman (This was just after a guy in a Batman costume was arrested in LA, which gave me the idea.).  During the "ComiCon That Now Never Ends, Brought To You By Aztechnology!  Aztechnology:  Geek money spends just as well as anyone elses!"  This soon developed into problems with Spanish-Speaking only police, the Catholic Church, and a whole bunch of pissed off geeks.

And then they incurred the wrath of Baron Von Vanderpluffe of the Black Forest Troll Kingdom.  Who the Ork Hacker of the group had been impersonating.

*Sighs*  And then bad things happened IRL and I had to drop the game.

Well, before I joined my current group, I used to run mainly out of Seattle. But, that was with a group that wanted to play SR. Now, I have somewhat of a harder battle getting those shadows ran. Seems everyone in my current group with one exception, has no CLUE about SR. So when I did get to run a 3rd ed game, I based it here in northwest Ohio with Toledo as an anchor for a new sprawl. Worked out pretty well and it was fun to "sixth world" out my hometown.

When I fire up a new campaign I'll probably start in Seattle (as I think I'll have a lot of SR virgins, and I am really interested in the metahuman rights movement there), but I really want to run games set in Europe, primarily in the ADL.

I have to retract my original comment a bit... looks like we'll be kicking off in Seattle (I'm way too lazy to shift Emergence to Chicagoland).  Chicago will be coming up fast though, and the real focus.... didn't I read something about a commune of Technomancers out there that have cut themselves off from the noose?
