Jink noticed right away that the bomb was too small to be a threat.  Something that size would barely even blow up the room it was in.  But the bomb's position suggested something.  It wasn't on the wall so that the blast would be angled through the room, it was on the desk so that the blast would be angled at the wall.  There must be something there, probably a gas line to create a sympathetic explosion.  Now that would wipe out the whole floor.  If someone could just move the bomb a bit to the side, it would cause about as much damage as a grenade.  The problem would be moving it without any sort of motion sensor going off.  He couldn't get at it directly.  Good thing he's a rigger.  All he would need is a pair of mechanical arms and a signal.

As Mary began her search for the emergency descender she hoped would still exist on the 2nd floor, the door to the nearest stairwell opened and a security guard came out, searching for the only registered occupant on the building's system besides their own personnel, one Dr. Leary of lab 212.

"Slot!" Mary said under her breath. @Johnny Sec guard, inbound. Incapacitate? Or will you be out of there soon?

@team We may have some issues here. Hopefully we should be fine.

The security guard rounded the corner and saw Johnny holding a box while the Doctor scrambled to pick up a piece of equipment from the floor. "Hey Doc!*REEET*nd your f*REEET*nd need t*REEET*urry up a*REEETet downsta*REEET*uickly! I*REEET*st protoco*REEET* don't smel*REEET*oke or noth*REET*o we shoul*REEET*fine!"

[OoC: Security guard's perception DP is 4 -2 to spot the light pistol -2 because he's distracted.  He is bad at his job.  Mary's chameleon suit drops his perception DP to 0 as well, so she's golden as long as she's not making noise.]

As Marlene focuses, the world slows down. She knows how to do this, she's done it before.

Moving quietly, she aims her pistol at the security guard. She makes sure to keep the pistol trained on him the entire time, should he so much as reach for his weapon, Mary will unleash her Predator.

@Johnny give me the order, and this guy is on the floor dreaming. If he goes for his gun, he'll be dreaming as well.

Ghost gets to Jink's van and once inside drops his invisibility spell.  After assessing the situation at Gibson Hall through the info on his commlink he decides there's nothing he can do to help at the moment.  He reaches into his coat pocket to grab the letter he found in Vanian's.  He looks up the address on his commlink and then goes to see if the letter is still inside the envelope.

The envelope was ripped open and empty.  It had just been stuck to the bottom of the box with some kind of sticky syrup.  Maybe Jack Vanian had pancakes whatever morning when he brought that box in?

<@team: OK. Disarming the bomb not gonna happen. But...  Yuri, if you give me access to Neil's system, I could remote one of his toys to move the device, and drop the blast from whole floor to just that room... The right nudge will channel blast away from wall pipes, to empty space, maybe leave you - hmm I dunno - say grenade boom... course, things go bunky, and I blow the whole floor. Maybe get off floor first, then I try and contain the damage. Your call my friends, si?"

Jink is in his wagon by this stage, alongside Ghost. As he waits for a response from Hiro/Mary/Yuri he powers up his sniffer program and runs it over the wagon, trying to detect any RFID tags that Mr Steve might have planted on his ride when he stopped to check his teeth... Might have marked her, he thinks to himself. It's not paranoid if it's true, eh?

Switchback follows the rest of the team out of vanians and heads to his bike, following the chatter on his comlink.

@Mary: We wrapped up at Vanians, but we can't get to Gibson Hall in time to be of any help unless things really start to blow up.

@team We still have a few minutes up here. I don't want to make a scene by shooting the guard, but we ought to get whatever is in that desk. Johnny, make the good doctor get whats in that desk out, I'll incapacitate the guard if the doctor tries to get his attention, and after we GTFO this floor, you can start moving the bomb around.

Keeping on with the pin the tail on the RFID stealth tag game, Jink looks over every nook and cranny of the swagger wagon, using his glasses to help examine anything suspicious. He focuses round the mirror Mr Steve paused near, figuring that if he marked the van, it would be near there ... [OOC: Perception check (13d6.hits(5)=4)] All in a days work.

If Mary or Hiro advise him it's time to try and move the bomb, he suspends his search and gives his full attention to the exploding dodad...

"Where we headed next, Ghost," he inquires, seeing the envelope the mage retrieved.

<<@Team: I can get back into the node and give Jink access... but why do we want to move the bomb?  Whoever placed it is going to be wondering why it didn't go off as planned.  The people should be vacating, and emergency services are already on thier way from the fire alarm.  I'd rather not tip off our bomber that someone's snooping around behind them just yet.>>

Tucking her Pred away she moves over to the jackrabbit and accesses it's anti-theft system log to see if anyone's approached the vehicle other then herself, and gives it a once-over for RFID infections.

@Team: Did we get anything useful out of Vanians?  I say we clear the area.  Clean Steve may be gone, but that doesn't mean others won't show up.  Besides, I don't want to be here when someone notices those two stiffs.

As Jink's van pulls away from the curb Ghost's body goes limb.  Another trip to the astral plane.  Ghost thought that Clean Steve probably would guess a runner team would have magic support and would not try to has us tracked form the astral plane but mistakes like that have cost some teams their mission or even lives.  He stays long enough in the astral plane to feel comfortable that they're not being followed, then returns to his body.
