I remember working on a gunslinger Adept a few days ago and I decided it would be awesome if his geas for improved reflexes was, that he can only use it while smoking a good cigar. I think this is a good way to handicap yourself, because 1) It costs money 2) you have to make sure to always have a few cigars with you as well as something to light it 3) it probably takes at least one initiative pass to get it out and light it 4) having a lit cigar in your mouth all the time would make infiltration quite a bit harder and of course 5) it's abso-fraggin-lutely cool 8) I really hope my GM will let me keep it that way when I decide to finally bring the character into play.

Yeah, I've always been wondering about those Geas, what's considered reasonable and what isn't? A 25 (or 50) percent discount is awesome and makes Improved Reflexes 3 a very good thing to grab.
One of the geas available being "Character makes gestures, so can't use X if handcuffed, tied down, paralyzed etc."... that's kind of a no-brainer for combat powers, right? Not having access to your hyper reflexes when you're incapable of fighting anyway... that's not a big sacrifice to make.

Geas : Must be under X substance to have acces to your adept powers would be a good Geas imo. Burnout addiction here I come !

Most gesture geas makes fighting pretty hard.
Shooting at bad guys and doing gestures with your hands at the same time is quite hard after all 8)

I would allow it in my game, but not with the Increased Reflexes power. Not EVER. No one gets a PP 2 power to give +3 REA dice and +3 IPs. I'ma hit any player that tries with ALL of my rulebooks, including ones from older editions.

It looks cheesy, but he can still get Increased Reflexes 3 and some other fun implants for the same amount of essence (and a lot of money) - without any restrictions on his power, or need to spend a 10bp quality. Put in that context, I'm not really seeing the problem... in fact, I'd be all for it.

My man. Enjoy your extra positive rep.
