So, I’ve been having fun making this run, but I would like to know what you guys think about it. Is it playable? The biggest problems? Trying to make it short here… ^^

So, a gang has had its load of drugs got stuck in the quarantine of the local post office after an unlucky incident. The office is a part of a bigger complex, which has chem sniffers and MADs on the doors, so no guns can be smuggled in to take the cargo back by force. (Personal vehicles have no entrance to the area, only the parking halls on the sides.)

However, the local hospital is having a refill on medical supplies in a few days. They have been having problems with junkies trying to steal their cargo, so this time they are using the post-offices van to fool the junkies.  The gang has gained this information from an inside source and are now going to steal the medical goods and use the van to smuggle some guns into the post office to get their drugs back too. (The van has chemical seal because of its load, and thus very useful for smuggling.)

They hire the runners to do the job for them, since they don’t have the appropriate skills to complete the task. The gangers will be hanging in the post office though, so when the runners come in with the guns, they will do the job from there.

The sad thing is, that this gang has been gaining the attention of the Lone star lately. In fact, there are even a few undercover cops in the gang and the Stars are trying to make the big bust on them. So when the runners come in with the guns, the Stars will be waiting for them.

From this point on, it’s all about a safe getaway. And if the gangers don’t make it, who will pay the runners?

Can go into details where needed, I have quite a lot of em …  ;D

The prequel for this would be the dealing of the guns used in the post-office, but I can go into that later, its already quite a wall of text… Sorry.

EDIT:  Needless to say, this is a lower level run but can be modified from gangers into Jonhson etc. easily... :)

Why don't the runners just steal som post office uniforms and get a postal truck (steal, paint job, chameleon coating) drive in and the infiltrate the place and steal the packet and drives of with it? Or infiltrate the place and repack the packet in a sealed container and send it out of the post office?
There are probably a lot other options besides going in with guns, so you have to plan for that too.

A few things that seem unclear for me:

a) The gang has a lot of drugs, more than enough to pay shadowrunners, but they have no skills? How did they get the drugs in the first place?
b) Generally, a low-level gang hiring shadowrunns seems strange to me. They deal in drugs anyway, no need for plausible deniability. And as a gang, your street rep will probably suffer, if you can't handle your stuff yourself.
c) Several undercover cops for one small-time gang without any skills?
d) A low-level run that includes escaping from Lone Star cops who knew, they would be coming? Doesn't sound very low-level for me...

Honestly, in this case, I would assume that the gang would do it themselves. If they got ratted out, for example by one of its members, Lone Star will be waiting for them. But I honestly don't think that runners should be included here...

Yes, i thought this might be coming. :) I tried to simplify things so that the run would be seen as nothing but a run, but now that i look at it, you are right Irian, this seems kinda illogical at some parts. I try to think stuff through, but your questions gave me a wider vision, thanks a lot!  [how does this reputation thing work in the forums?]

I will now throw in some details, that hopefully clarify what i had in mind:

1. The gang is not going to pay the (beginning) runners in nuyen, but they have something the runners want. Also the hijacking of the van without it sending any kind of warning is something you need specialists for (correct me if im wrong, still not so familiar with all the cool stuff in this game :)) ). And if that goes wrong, the gang can still pull out without any damage on themselves. Also if the gig goes well, they get some cred for being bad-assed enough to go break in the quarantine in to the middle of the day.

2. This reputation thing didnt cross my mind, thanks. Maybe the gangers include in the deal that the runners can't be bragging about their part in the job?

3 and 4. This is clearly the biggest brainfart i had while typing... But i actually had thought this somewhat through, believe it or not. :D Now how should i put this to not make it sound completely retarded... The gangers have this initiation rite that includes shootin at cops or other security personnel, not kill them or anything, just have the balls to go shoot at some officers. There is no real proof that these shootings have anything to do with the gang, since they aint THAT idiots. Anyway, this one policeman who was hit in one of these shootings, made the thing personal. After his superiors said no to his plan to put an end to this gang (because of the lack of evidence and the low influence of the gang), he had an old snitch go mole for him. They even framed the initiation shooting with his team. So, that is how the cops (or the one team of them) know what is going on. They do not know about the runners though. So they just "happen to be around" when the gangers try to loot the quarantine, and get their revenge, plus a promotion maybe. :)

It isn't that gang's drugs.  So the cred here would be if gang A could somehow get the drugs that gang B lost.

The next question is why doesn't the hospital have the drugs delivered by helicopter?

that is only done in extreme emergencies, other wise drugs and other consumables come in by delivery truck, though usually not through a post office unless its a small amount of something time critical and/or special. actually they are usually shipped in large tractor trailers.
