Mouse credits Unca Omar the 200 nuyen he borrowed.
@omar: I won't be needing this after all. I'm double checking for the intruder as I type to make sure he's gone.

Matrix security check:
If I were to secure this data how would I do it? Assuming other than a data chip in a safe.
Logic 5 + matrix security 4: 9d6.hits(5)=4

if it is a large database, that should be acccessed, it would rather be a node not a datachip.
if you'd like it to be secure, you'd have offline, to disable the wifi access.
from there it is basic matrix security along with physical access security

EDIT: your a technomancer - you'd probably put a sprite or two on top of the icing.

Omar taps on his ear, like Mouse is able to see that...
I guess. Well it seems Fractal may find it usefull. I got my firewalls already rebooted, lets hope that would be enought for now. Got something on this Katsuo? I dont want to start the firefight if she is able to bring the sky down on our heads.

She weights you (or yours).... Six hundreds and I might help you though...

Despite all odds, Fractal's smile brighten even more. As a client who is happy to haggle in an intimate way, he approaches Sunshine even more and whisper at her ear. "Dear pretty thing, for a joygirl, you are getting it all wrong. Let me offer you two bits of advice. First one, if you wanted a raise in the payment, you should first go along with the game, and then ask for it when you are in a more critical moment of it. That way, no one would be dumb enough to step back on your exigences. Second, before trying to scare someone, be sure to assess the person and see what would scare them. Look around. Are you seeing any other elf here? Or any other meta, for what's that worth? Or another 'ling? I don't think so... Maybe that's because Yaks don't like both of these people in their turfs. And here I am, not only in the lion's den, but also talking one of their girls to try something a little... different. Do I look like someone who can be easily scared? Oh, and don't get me wrong, far for me to threat a pretty thing like you, but do you realize you have made an offer in betraying your employees, and that it may happen that this offer may have been recorded? Don't worry, though, it was never my intend to put you into harm. But, now that we have all showed some of our cards, would you like to reconsider your prices?"

Somehow, Fractal can show that he may be serious even while smiling like a spoony bastard. Also, the way he stressed the words some of our cards leaves it clear that he is relying on more things than Sunshine is aware. His smile is almost inviting Sunshine to weight his "nerves" again, and realized that she does not want to risk losing an opportunity to get some cash and her safety.

two rolls are necessary.

first is an opposite Composure test (Willpower + Charisma) against Agility(3) + Ars Amandi(4) roll 7d6.hits(5)=2, if she wins, net hits are negative modifer to the next roll for 'distraction', a glitch here, is gonna be embarassing.

not sure though if the next roll is negotiations, con or intimidation :)
probably a little bit of all, so I'll let you choose the best dicepool you have (you can apply glamour).

modifiers:
subject is suspicious -1
result would be harmful to Sunshine, if she get caught behind the curtain -3 (it would be downright disastrous if she would be found guilty of helping you in and you do something 'undesired', in the latter case she is quite confident she can help you without her being put to harm and that confidence work on your benefit)
your pheromones are slightly less effective in the smoked and crowdied place -1
you are a little distracted -1 (due to constant subvocalized chatter) -additional hits from the first roll
total -6 dices, against Sunshine's roll Negotiation(2) + Bargaining (2) + Charisma(4) -> 8d6.hits(5)=3

assuming you want her to cooperate and slip with you behind the curtain (or let you inside without her accompanying you IC whatever you wish).
each net hit will reduce her initial 600 offer by 50 nuyen (roughly 10%) to a minimum of 300.

assuming you want her to leave you unmolested by guards each net hit will reduce her initial 300 offer by 100 nuyen, to a minimum of 0.

glitch in either case will result on her spilling a dirnk on you attracting some unwanted attention, but will also leave you without needing to pay her anything (you might also provoke this intentionaly)

critical glitch will result in Sunshine calling the guards, which you should immediately follow by initiative roll.
Sorry for a small delay ;)

Quote from: Composure test
4( Willpower) + 8 (Charisma) = 12 dice = 6 hits, no glitch

Fractal has so much control of his expressions and is too confident of being able to resist pressure that he does not even flinch by Sunshine's... hm... "maneuver".

Quote from: Negocontimidation roll
Fractal's Negotiation and Con dicepools are the same, so he most probably would be going that route. Also, threatening a lady is a nasty thing!
8 (Charisma) + 4 (Negotiations/Con) + 3 (Glamour) + 3 (Tailored Pheromones) + 1 (Vocal Range Enhancer) = 19 dice pool
I let the full bonus for the pheromones since their efficiency drop in the ambient is alright held into account on the situational modifiers.
19 (Con dicepool) - 6 (Situational modifiers) = 13 dice = 7 hits, no glitch
Total of 7-3 = 4 net hits. Total price would be 400 nuyen. Right?

"So, what do you say? Are you game for 400 nuyen, plus the joy of my company?"

Sunshine deftly accepts wireless transfer over her CMT Clip exchanging you her comcode. You'll need to wait a bit. We'll meet in 20 minutes near the blackjack table.

Unless you do anything else, your only option is to wait.

make a gambling roll

After 25 minutes or Sunshine returned from the upper floor, where she was serving a customer, just in time, as a stern man walked out from behind the beaded curtain.

Quote from: ooc
Snake, I assume, you didn't enter the parlor, if you do make an IC about it.

The guy is in his early fifties. Stern face and he seems to be angry at something. Everything about him says “Yakuza boss”, from his impeccable suit to his short-combed back hair.

As he walk, two of the guards move to his sides and the crowd of people give him way like if was some fraggin' Jesus over the sea of the faithful. He nods over to the young man on the sofa, but he nd back toward the direction of Lips. In a moment of silent understanding The older man nods approvingly and walk over. Leaving three guards in the basement makes an opportunity as there is no one near the curtain ... except for the mage.

Omar from the street view see a detachment of yakuza goons going into the parlor, seemingly change of guards. admitance is temporarily stopped, and the guards gather in the ground level lobby.

Sunshine sends you a frigthened look pointing with her eyes, toward the man on the sofa as if saying: "He should have went away like the others." She seems like she had backed off, certainly not willing to risk her life over 400 nuyen.

Quote from: Fractal

As soon as the transaction with Sunshine ends, Fractal walks slowly towards the gaming tables, and send a message to the team. @Team: Guys, I'm broke. One of you will need to lend me some credit; 500 nuyen would be sufficient, but with a grand it would be better. don't worry, I will give it back as soon as this is over... whenever this is over.

Quote from: Gambling roll
4 (Intuition) - 1 (defaulting) = 3 dice = no hits, and it's a damn glitch.
Don't know what should be the appropriate additional problem here... an increase on the money spend?

Certainly, Lady Luck was on vacation. Or maybe it was just behaving like the bitch she is.

And then Sunshine returns, and the Yaks do their dance on the saloon. As the situation just confirms that luck is not on their side, Fractal sends a message to Lips. It seems like they will need to bet higher. @Lips: Well, here we are. I need you to make this guy leave the place. Can you make a diversion? He is the only guard here now, so maybe the drunk patron accusing someone of cheating or being jealous of one of the prostitutes may be enough for him to move... Well, if you have a better idea, go for it. But it needs to be soon, we don't have a lot of time."

Quote from: ooc
the penalty for critical glitch, (unless you negate it with edge) is 1000 nuyen bond you had to buy from Yakuza.
burning edge will negate it to standard glitch which is -100 instead of -50 nuyen

This is going to hurt claimed a text message from Lips as he walked over to the dices gametable to play again. He lost a first throw and during the second he, oh so slightly, spelled Force 1 a levitate over the dices to turn them to the better combination. Oh so slightly, wasn't slight enough and Lips his body raised for few centimeters above the floor.

as if shot from the springed trap young mage darted toward Lips His hand gathering ball of light with his ring flashing blinding red flash on it own. "I told you NOT TO TRY ANYTHING MORON". Three remaining guards all head toward Lips with their Uzis readied.

Sunshine signals you "now".

Fractal was a man who took his opportunities, no matter how sour the things went. So he took advantage of the situation and slipped through the curtain towards the corridor, hoping no one to perceive his intrusion.

Behind the beads of joy

You're out of view from prying eyes, at least for a moment. Behind the curtain corridor turned sharply left (about five meters long and meter and half wide) one pair of doors were almost opposite to the beaded curtain, slightly to the left (facing north), other pair at the end of the corridor (also facing north).
The latter are chromed and maglocked.

I hope you're a fast shooter Silvereye Sunshine begin to unzip her top.

Fractal preferred to act on the flesh than on Matrix; but there was one thing he missed about having his mind diving on the digital collective hallucination of nodes, data and connections: the speed. Often he had imagined if people like Sam, with their enhanced reflexes, felt the same in the flesh as he does on the 'trix. Now he was envying them. So little time, so much to do.

His first action after finding himself in the corridor was to determine he had only one chance to do it right. Seeing the two doors, he concluded that the prize should be on the better guarded one, and so that's today's bet. He almost casually touches the maglock interface, hoping for it to be connected to his PAN by his skinlinked equipments. @Team: "Guys, are we still in touch? Well, forget all you're doing. This gotta be fast. There's a maglock here, I think it may be connected to my PAN via skinlink. I could try to hack it, but you can do it faster from your position. Move it!"

Hoping that the guys could make their move fast enough, with the other arm Fractal grabs Sunshine by the waist and pull her closer. A movement with a lot of implications and objectives: not only the elf likes having a female's body close to his, but this way they are both closer to the door and could jump inside if the team manage to open the door, and in doing this, they would be at least a little less visible than they are right now.

Fractal would hate to admit it, but if all else fails, then the girl's body would also serve as protection. But one who can lie to others can also lie to himself.

"Just don't let your clothes lying here pointing to where we are. This is supposed to be an intimate moment, no need for anyone to come looking, Sunshine."

Ready to put some pressure on yaks, your call.
Lips, I got Dobbey ready to support. Should I intervene?

Omar tries to get as much info as possible before he goes for full-out fight. Yak goons pulling out weapons should be the wrong turn for Lips, well there is still possibility they will use them only as a threat and that they will escort him out without use of lethal power.

Situation .... under control. the voice is strained, and biomonitor says he's hurt.

Quote from: ooc
He got hit by a spell, but since he is heavily outnumbered, he keep his spirits in check and do not retaliate. 6S in damage.

Shortly after you see him being carried upward, still short time before he'll be out.

A quick moment of realization, and Fractal's perceive that life does not work as Mouse's animes. Tough luck, again, he will need to open the case the less polite way. Also, the TacNet information are sounding pretty grim, so there's really not much time to waste.

The bad part is, when electronic systems are involved, Fractal is an ace in the software bit, and a lame excuse on the hardware part. Anyway, he will have to find the time to blame his training elsewhere. As he has no equipment with which he could leverage the cover of the maglock, he tries to improvise a screwdriver with one of the medical implements of his medkit.

"Wait a little bit, fiery girl. I assure this room will be a more cozier place than this hallway. Also, a safer place.

Quote from: Trying to open up the cover
4 (Logic) + 2 (Cerebral Booster 2) - 1 (Hardware Defaulting) = 5 dice = 2 hits, no glitch
2 ş Turn = 1 hit, no glitch
3 ş Turn = 3 hits, no glitch

After precious seconds are wasted, Fractal believes the hard work will begin just now.
@Team: "Omar or Mouse, lend my eyes and take a look at the wires. Tell me what to do. We need to open this fucking door NOW, and I want to be with my hands free ASAP. I doubt they will help much, but I prefer to be with the tasers readied when the guards come."
