>>>>>[Xerena, that is because you've never 'flown' across the room in microgravity, carried on a conversation with someone hanging upside-down, or drank orange juice from a ball that was floating in midair. There are so many little things that add up to an incredible experience. And if you think the view of the moon is good in Yakut, just wait until you see it from space, without that pesky atmosphere getting in the way.

You'd also be amazed at the things they can do with food in space, too. You won't find much in the way of steak, or other things that require a lot of cutting, because the nature of space makes that extremely problematic. However, I've seen them do absolute ART with food, shaping a simple meal like bacon, eggs, and toast into three dimensional sculptures that would be impossible to do in gravity.

And then there's all the people. Anyone who can afford the ride on the orbital and a stay here is someone that could be quite useful to know, yeah? Its like staying at any exclusive resort planetside. Keep your eyes open, and you'll be able to make contacts you never would have been able to otherwise, since they assume that since you actually got in the resort, you're on their level.

And, when you just get down to it, there's something undeniably fun about spending some time living the high life.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Mmm...you do make it sound wonderful, Miri. Just for the experience alone. I must admit...I didn’t think about using the chance to make contacts while there. I never really operated on that level before. Oh, I could fit in and send all the right signals, play the classy rich lady...but in all honesty, I have very little patience for that anymore. I don’t have the temperament for it, and I no longer take myself so seriously that I feel the need for what I feel is frivolous displays of wealth and power. I fear if I started mixing with them too much, there would be diplomatic incident before too long. You’ve run with me long enough to know I don’t hold my tongue.

That said...give me advance warning if you happen to need a lady on your arm while rubbing shoulders with all those little peacocks. I promise I won’t embarrass you.

Spirits of the rainwilds...I’m on vacation and here I am thinking about working! Clearly, the vacation has not been long enough yet. Miri...come take my mind off things. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[I never did much of that, myself. My parents raised each of us with different roles in mind. Arkash was the politician, Garret was the businessman, poor Ariana was a Paladin, and I was the warrior. It was a good move on their part. Together we could put fingers in many different pies, without competing with one another. I did my time in the military, even though people of my rank could generally avoid service if we wished. Ariana was always the best of us when it came to dealing with high society. I, on the other hand, was able to move in circles she could not, so while I had some experience with the upper echelons of Tir society, I could go into any bar catering to the Peace Forces without causing a scandal, which made me useful to those of the powerful who wished to keep tabs on the pulse of the Army, and to people in the army who wished to have some warning of any major moves coming down the pipe.

But you wish for a distraction, my dear? Your wish is my command. Now where did we put that whipped cream?]<<<<<

>>>>>[Mmm. This was just what I needed to get the new parts up to speed before going to spend a week in space. For those of you listening to the audio, that would be Xerena in the background, singing one of her hits. I'm not putting trid up, because, well, she would find several unique ways to kill me, I'm sure. All I can say is bless whoever decided to install a pole in this suite.

Tomorrow, we got to say goodbye to this hotel, however, and catch the suborbital to Vladivostok where we'll catch the connecting shuttle to Evo's resort.]<<<<<

I've said it once, and I'll say it again: you have very stange taste, Miri. Or you just plain like to play with fire.

All this time, and I still don't quite know what to make of this guy. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[Autumn is coming back this weekend and it looks like I won't need your help for now Money, she's received an invite too. I can already tell that this little trip to her native land has changed her. Last week, she learned an important lesson... Things are never what they seem, put everything into question. The Truth hurts but it shall set you free. And so begins the next chapter of Autumn' story, the day she killed her own mother and her husband. Using an extremely concentrated dose of colchicum autumnale extract, she exacted her revenge on the ones really responsible for her father's murder... And she got paid to do it. Ironic that they paid for her doctorate in biochemistry. I love how things just seems to fall into place. When I spoke to her, she was far from the panicked and freaked out weakling she proved to be on the night of her first kill. No, she was as calm and cold as it gets. She's is finally getting to the level of detachment that she needs to be. She's far from ready yet, the world of wetwork is a brutal and merciless one. We are the best of the worst as I heard it once...

And she's going to meet that lot sooner than later. I decided to go to that meeting and allow Autumn to attend to. I did some digging on this Mysterious Man and I'll have a nice surprise for him. And no, that's not it. Although it was tempting to put Autumn naked in a cake, that's not what I have in mind, oh you dirty little minds!]<<<<<

And my dear Xerena, a bit of teasing never hurt anyone. I may play with fire, but only because it makes things so very interesting. When I fight, I divorce myself from passion and the thrill of the hunt. So I make up for it in other areas. One cannot be all business, all the time, afterall.]<<<<<

>>>>>[ Somehow, it still makes my blood run cold when you describe such calculated murders, Smiley. I'm not condemning it...it's just somewhat...well...cold. Wolf kills when its necessary, to defend herself, or her pack and to ensure their survival. It's often violent, and never stealthy. Wolf loves the hunt, and doesn't back away from a fight. Your way..it just seems so...unnatural somehow. I'm not knocking it, just saying I'm not cut out for it. Congratulations to your protege though.

Oh, I know teasing hurt anyone, and I enjoy the game as much as you do. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[Well, we're on the suborbital now. Thank you, Wolfgar, for a pleasant stay. I think Xerena will agree with me that a week at the beach was just what we needed after dealing with Aztlan. If any of you have cause to go to the CAS, look Wolf up. He's got some quality contacts.

The only trouble with going into orbit is the effect it has on your Talent if you're Awakened. There are a few places in orbit that have enough life to cobble together a weak manasphere, but for the most part it is a barren wasteland. Still, it is beautiful, looking down on Earth from this height.]<<<<<

>>>>>[ Not to mention our dear Wolf is an interesting person in his own right, with an interesting past. I'll be posting a little profile on him in the next few days. Hope, you don't mind, Wolf. I've given my thanks when we met, but I'll add it again in public: thank you for putting us up. Like Miri said, it was exactly what we needed.

Vladivostok's an interesting place. I'll have to come back here some day when I'm at my peak. The Russians are...a unique people. I'm not altogether certain Evo fits in all that well with the Russian world view. There's a whole lot of tension here.

Oh, space isn't so bad, Miri. At least there is some sort of manasphere, unlike those foveae in Azzieland. And you're right...the view of earth and the stars is...well, it takes my breath away...Strange sensation, being weightless. It takes a lot of getting used to. I'm told alcohol helps settle things...but I'm reluctant to try that remedy, given how eager Miri is to get me drunk.  ::)  ]<<<<<

>>>>>[Bah! I just prefer drinking with a beautiful woman to drinking alone. And I do drink a lot. Nothing like a cold drink and a hot woman to keep the nightmares at bay.

Evo is an interesting mix. Japanese and Russian cultures don't mix well on the surface of things, but somehow Evo makes it work. Evo's also got a good rep for dealing with spirits and the Awakened, with Buttercup on the board. And they were one of the few that didn't jump on MCT's bandwagon when the technomancer craze hit a couple years ago. How they make all that work is beyond me, but there's something a little creepy about the 'EvoPeople'.

And I do love being in space, but after being there too long, it gets to be a bit of an itch when you're used to having at least a couple foci and a sustained spell or two available to you, and there's just... nothing. An adept rigger I knew (don't ask) said it was the same as trying to control her drones in a heavy static zone. You know the functionality is there, its just cut off from you at the moment.]<<<<<

I still feel there's something "off" about the mix. Creepy only begins to describe it.

I've been looking at the news nets. So far, there's been no mention of what we discovered in Aztlan. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not... ]<<<<<

>>>>>[Here's a fun fact to consider. You'll be surprised to know that veteran shadowrunners who specialize in wetwork usually end up their career with a lower body count then most other runners of the same level of experience. Taking you both as an example, if the intel I have is correct, you and Ice have a much higher body count than me. Funny isn't it?

Oh and there's a reason I'm so graphic on this board. It's to make people aware of what we are and to also warn about the danger of screwing up or kicking the hornet's nest... Since most of us have no problem taking hits on fellow shadowrunners. Taking you both as an example again. Taking vacations while assassins and bounty hunters are searching for you... And considering the trid I saw, you both left a fair amount of blood behind for Aztlan priests to magically track you down, sharing the intel with some of the assassins. You kicked the nest hard enough for them to send a friggin' dragon, it's not too far stretched to think they'll go through the trouble of personally, magically track you both down. Aztlan hold grudges too, so even a few weeks in space won't make them forget that little incident. You best not underestimate the trouble that is after you. Just saying but it's your funeral. There is also no assassin, posing as an engineer, planting a bomb on your next shuttle. Wink, wink!]<<<<<
