And if you think bug spirits are only in Chicago, you're dead wrong. The Universal Brotherhood didn't exist in Chicago alone, it was world-wide. Only place they didn't set up shop in North America is Tir Tairngir, though not for lack of trying. Let that sink into your skull for a minute. Yeah, there are bugs in your sprawl. And unless you're a trid character or awakened and trained in dealing with them, you're fragged.

And you want to know the place you're most likely to find bug spirits? The Barrens, or whatever you call your local equivalent. Sure, you might find a hive in an upscale part of town, but that is only likely after they've invested some people who can protect them. Starting out, they don't want to get noticed, either by most people who want them dead, or by Ares, who wants to study them, and turn them into good drones. People turn up questions. Sign on with one of the companies doing Desert Wars. You want cred as a runner? Start by infiltrating past that nest, doing the job, and leaving, without the nest ever knowing you were there.

And Murphy, glad the axe came in handy. Lot of mundanes think having a good melee weapon is a waste with all the toys the arms dealers bring to the market, but you never have to reload an axe. You haven't missed much, except a new guy who thinks big bangs and body counts are the way to get respect as a runner. It might work for Kane, but if you're not him, you're asking to be on the wrong end of a corp reprisal team.]<<<<<
