As a general rule, I don't pursue high society types, unless I'm either at a social event as myself, or part of the job requires it. I try to keep personal matters separate from business, and potential business, matters. Also, while I may walk in some nicer circles than many, I'm under no illusions that I'm in the same circle as the truly elite. It is a fine line knowing how familiar to act with people in those circles. Given the Big D's extensive spy network, I'd have to guess that, while I doubt she knows of me personally, she could get a fairly extensive file on me without much trouble. You'd have about as much luck trying to seduce Samantha Villiers. And the consequences could be just as dire. I've already got enough contracts out on my head. No sense adding more to them if I can help it. (And Xerena would probably kill me, just on general principle.) Now, if she ever requested my services, I certainly wouldn't be opposed.
