>>>>>[OK, headache worse than every hangover I've had in my life combined.  And I've been to Germany, Scotland, Ireland (Tir, whatever), and Australia.  And lost my pants in Las Vegas, twice.  Well, looks like someone's been reading my file at DocWagon.  I'm strapped down in a nutrient tank with mild muscle numbing agent and a troll nurse sitting on it.  At least they plugged my datajack in.

Last thing I remember is Little Murphy...  No, it'd be just Murphy now, wouldn't it?  Damn.  Anyhow, him, some jerk trying to kick me in the head while attempting to impale me with a sword at the same time, and...  A freaking out dwarf.  Um, what the frag did I miss?  Wait, that's the date?  Oh wow, did I go on another bender?  Well, I have no pants, so that might be a possibility.]<<<<<

>>>>>[ Ah! Back to the land of the living I see. And if by "bender" you mean something resembling a psychotic break, then yes. You were. And you were far more than just kicked in the head. You took a bullet to that titanium skull of yours. It rattled things around in there quite a bit and splintered some bones. In small ways, but still. There was some swelling as well.

By the way, sorry if this is blunt, but I figured I'd tell it to you straight. There's some minor nerve damage too, but nothing that can't be healed. You're just plain lucky you had some of the headgear you used to carry removed. That's what kept you alive. It allowed the swelling some space, or your brain would have been crushed like jelly. You can thank the little deli-doctor for letting me take a look at you later. And I wouldn't worry about pants right now. You have bigger things to worry about. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[Bullet to the head?  Well, that makes sense.  Splintered bones?  How the hell did that happen, they're wrapped with titani...  Oh, you might have seen the chip that's stuck in my cranium.  The doctors missed that when they were putting Humpty Dumpty Johnson back together.  That's actually a piece of my wife's skull.  They can remove it now, but I like to keep a bit of her with me, morbid though that may sound.  Doesn't hurt anything, or so I'm told.

Psychotic break?  Oh man, don't tell me I went streaking again!  Or tried to create another business venture!  Or, worse, bought another bar...]<<<<<

As for streaking or buying bars...I cannot say. You'll have to ask Murphy. Kid tracked you the whole way and brought you in. You owe Iceblade a case of beer though. If for no other reason that organising a scanner for me to use on you. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[Ah, Madre, you can't run forever, my dear. Tell you what. When I get back from Denver, why don't you take a trip with me? I haven't been up the well since the whole technomancer/AI craze. Been meaning to see if Evo's made any improvements to their orbital resort.

Money, don't go catching bullets with your head, man. That leads to waking up in a tank with no pants. Seriously, though, glad to see you're back with us. Next time you decide to go crazy, make someone's there to pump a few SnS rounds into your hide before you go and toss bodies off rooftops.

And no, I don't want a bar. I have enough hassles just managing my legitimate and illegitimate finances. If I had to deal with more property on top of what I have in the Tir, I wouldn't have time to maintain my cover as a noble playboy/high end male escort.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Well, we certainly won't know unless you try, will we, Madre? ;)

That said, I have to start packing for Denver. Meeting young Murphy at Sea-Tac tomorrow to show the kid around Denver while I do some biz. At the very least, he'll get to see a sprawl that's very different from Seattle, and have some stories to tell the family. And if I can pass a bit of knowledge his way, might make things easier for him down the road. Call me a good samaritan.

Or you could just say I'm making an investment in the kid's education, so he might prove a good backup down the road, when I need help with a job.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Investing in fellow runners is a good way to make sure they are worth calling on when you need stuff doing. At least, that seems to be the idea here. Helping a kid run away to a Tir, taking the new Murphy on a run.

And never worry about me and driving. I'm quite skilled in multitasking. Overtaking a truck in Seattle weather while going a good 120 or so isn't THAT hard for me on my bike. But yeah, for those of you who aren't professional couriers who can drive Seattle streets in their sleep, either turn on the Guide or turn off the AR. It's only sensible, and you'll keep from pissing off the taxis and couriors by crashing and backing up the whole gorrum highway.

Money: Good to see you're..well, mentally working at a minimum. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to pull into my favorite bar for some drinks. That's another lesson: Don't drink and AR. It never ends well.]<<<<<
