I'm not even sure where to begin.  I guess I'll start with...

You should read the rules for SR4A to begin with.  I'm assuming you haven't read them because you have an attribute at 6 (REA), several at 5 (BOD, AGI, INT), and your Edge is at 7.  Per the rules, you can have either:

1.  One unmodified attribute at 6 and the rest at 4 (or less), OR
2.  Two unmodified attributes at 5 and the rest at 4 (or less).

You don't list any cyberware or bioware, so I'm assuming these are unmodified, natural attributes.  And they are wrong per the standard character creation rules.

Secondly, you only have 3 skills listed, and they are all above the maximums allowed at character creation.  Again, you can either have 1 skill at a 6 and the rest 4 and below, or 2 at 5 and the rest at 4 and below.

I have to ask:  What did you use to create this character?  I'm going to state that you should go out and download Chummer, a free (and extremely powerful and useful) character generator for SR4A.  I'm also going to recommend that you bone up on the rules by reading the chapter on character creation in the SR4A book.

I'm not trying to be mean, just trying to help point you in the right direction because your character below is just...not good.  And not book legal, either.

Scare_Crow is thinking of skills. There's no limit on how many attributes you can have at 5+. There is a restriction of only having one attribute at its unaugmented maximum, but that's not in violation here. (Reaction and Edge are both at their maximums, but that's fine since Edge is a Special Attribute.)

However, you did spend 255 BP on Primary Attributes. The standard rule is that no more than 50% of your BPs may be spent on attributes (so 200, presumably), but that rule is ignored at some tables.

I like Chummer a lot and would endorse it, especially for a new player who wants tinker with the overwhelming number of options available. It might help you end up with more than three skills.

Tecumseh is correct on the attribute question, however, looking at it, your Electronics skill group is too high, as groups are limited to 4 in creation with individual skills limited to 6 maximum ever without the Aptitude quality which raises the max by 1. That said, your Negotiation skill is way too high as well.

What exactly are you looking to build with the character?

The high karma numbers was mostly a mistake on my part because in the sega game they all went up to 12 and i assumed it was the same in the regular game on here, well i did get the chummer program so ill be working on my character little by little and not rush things.

Im not sure what id ilike to accomplish yet, but all i can say is that i hope to get my character to a top rank in the game, maybe to a "Mr.Johnson" or higher and have some of you guys do jobs for me.

Yeah, I'm not sure where I got that from on attributes.  I think I saw it for skills and just auto-applied it to attributes.  Of all the things I've lost, it's my mind I miss the most.

Can't Miss what ya didn't have! :P

Nah, onto serious business instead of poking fun.

Though chummer is a great tool, personally I find it does a little bit of injustice by not really teaching players how to build characters. I know newbies at my table were frustrated as they designed their character and it just wouldn't let them generate it over and over and over because they were totally overlooking the book section on character building and their characters weren't CLOSE to correct. Not to mention that with it doing all the math sometimes people just never learn rules for some add ons to guns/cyberware/etc.

Don't get me wrong, I love chummer as much as the next guy but after that fiasco I always spend a game night before the campaign talking to newbies and fixing character sheets by hand. Maybe I'm just a grumpy dude who likes pens and paper. -shrugs-

If it doesn't work for you, then don't use it.  I just find that, as someone not new to SR but new to SR4, Chummer has helped me deal with all the math that goes into building a character.

Again, use what you think is best.  If a calculator and the books work, then don't fix it cuz it ain't broke!

This may not be the right place for this, but how does one post a character from chummer? I was assuming (bad idea I know) that it would be throught the 'export' command, but it does not work for me (I think). Any ideas? (PM would work so I dont hijack this thread any more than necessary).

Go to Print, then change the output type from SR4A character sheet to Text. Copy and paste it to the forums.

And be sure to de-select the option about printing all Skills with non-zero pools. Just showing the ones you've got points in makes things less spammy.

After changing it to Text, you have to hit the 'Save as HTML' button as well. Can't copy directly from the Chummer output window.

Huh, I've never had to save it as HTML, I just right-click and go to "copy". I know I've had problems trying to ctrl-C to copy the text, but when I right-click it's not a problem.
