I had an idea for a new piece of gear, very minor:

Magnetic Points: Magnetic Points are small electro magnets that can be either atached externaly or incorporated into clothing or armor to hold equipment.  The magnetic fields is not strong enough to interfere with electronics or move metalic objects (GM discretion, but as a general rule there should be no useful effect, but minor RPG issues like moving a cup to your hand is acceptable).  The magnets are able to hold equipment.  The magnets are controled by the characters PAN.  This adds a +1 die to quick draw.

Depending on the size of the equipment will control the number needed.  Most hand held items would take 1, while a pistol should take 1-3 and a rifle would need 5-10.

no idea on cost yet

Thoughts?

This is really a flavor item BTW

Neato idea, sort of like how guns just stick to your armour in Mass Effect? I think tho you may be reinventingthe wheel tho go to the presence of Gecko Grip options on things?
An Awful lot of people believe a lot of very strange things indeed for no valid reason I can see. They can`t all be right but it is quite likely they all can be very wrong.

Does Gecko Grip stick to smooth metal surfaces?
You can't tell me what toys I can play with.

Yep!  It'll stick to anything~

...the geko climbing gloves in the corebook have some wierd thing about not working when they're wet... but they're un-powered, and all other uses of gecko-grip technology omit this.

Sure, why not a magnetic belt/harness thing?

If you can install magnets into cyberlimbs that are strong enough to stick you to a steel beam, then why not something like this?

SLA Industries has had magnetic weapon "sheathes"

I always thought SR didn't need those, because of
a) gecko grip
b) the fluff stuff like modern alloys aren't necessarily ferromagnetic (read description of the implants which are more or less magnetic boots)

gecko grip is more versatile, dosn't interfere with electronic stuff, is passive (or can be), is not detectable so easily, isn't subject to emp

have you ever EMP'd a guy who walks on the ceiling with magboots? ;)

In the last game I played we could use geko tips for attaching our guns to anything solid. Normal armour worked ok for pistols and small weapons and melee sheathes. Was good for placing weapons and things around our base :D

Why are gecko grip gloves useless in the wet but gecko tips are fine in the wet? They are using the same mechanism. It seems inconsistent.  ???

no Idea Dr, but it is weird. I assume that's a mistake, but I don't know which way that it falls.

Geko tips are a vehicle/drone mod.
