These kind of aids are always welcome, since even if you don't choose to roll on the chart, it's new ideas to plunder for your use. I use the old Sprawl Sites extensively for this kind of thing.
It's great to make a campaign within the campaign during the runner's downtime, beyond training and such, I think because it makes a radically different type of adventures. Certain things become more challenging if the runners aren't all grouped together too. I've had a lot of fun playing around with our party Face, who is the only one that lives in the afluent area of Bellevue. He's currently engaged in an epic struggle against one of those gangs of corporate brats, which my players have begun calling glitter gangs.
