He's 5' 10", wiry not bulky muscular. Dark brown hair, grey eyes, clean shaven and fashionably longer hair. He dresses well. The only obvious 'ware is a datajack behind his left ear. He's young, early 20s, and carries a machine pistol for self defense and a submachine gun for work.

Also, if you feel like it, he has two drones: a Fly-Spy and a Microskimmer. He uses those to scout around and generally watch his back.

Oh and he's a thief. Datathief, sure. But he's not that picky.

Ok so weird questions. What would I have to roll to try and figure out who of my compatriots is the most charismatic? Also once I figure that out can I just send them a private AR message (like an IM)? Basically Patches knows he's not a face and doesn't wanna step on toes but has questions that might be relevant but also possibly rude to ask.

Examples: Whats the data?(relevance who would they sell it too); Does he/she know what they have?; Can they provide any extra info on why the thief broke in to begin with?; Should we discuss separate fees for "extra copies" that we have to track down?; Whats the expected time frame?; If we do complete the mission within a certain amount of time can we get a bonus?; Who's our employer?; Can we see the scene of the crime?

(Sorry he's got high intelligence so he's super curious.)
Also should we ask questions before trying to negotiate a better rate? Is it rude to ask for a better rate(or bonuses)?

I'm leaving it up to you guys whether you know each other. It's possible that you've all worked together before, or that some of you have worked with others. All up to you.


There isn't really a roll you can do to determine who is the most charismatic, but conversation should establish who the best negotiator is. And certainly, if you have questions, it's probably fine to ask them instead of having the negotiator ask.

I'd say that I don't think any of us have worked together but some of us might know of others by reputation or previous interaction (maverick and mclaine).
I also just realized that the Jammer makes the AR message question pointless anyway.

Sorry thought it was a jammer. If anybody wants to have worked with patches lemme know I'm open. I kinda figured he would have done some extraction jobs recently while working with Smiley and had asked to expand his runner options. But he's a pacifist so no wet-works or the like in his past.

In retrospect, playing a Face character in my first PbP game when I'm a terrible RPer anyway was not the best plan   We shall see how this goes!

@ jonathanc - I have tried to take into account social modifiers which seemed sensible when doing latest roll. Does that look ok, or would you prefer to do it a different way?  Seemed like none of the others really applied (well, maybe the intoxication one but I don't think either of us have had that much to drink).

Ah, thanks for reminding me! I'd forgotten about your negotiation roll entirely. The Johnson has told you what he can. Feel free to make another negotiation test to angle for more cash; no need for a penalty, roll your full pool (assuming you're the team's elected negotiator, which seems likely).
