So I think my version of arsenal is just wacky. Why does it cost a modification slot to take manual controls out of a vehicle while putting nothing back into it? Further, the rigger cocoon is either badly described, or the Lone Star Modified Honda 3240 Turbo is. It lists an enhanced rigger cocoon as standard equipment and makes very clear that the vehicle is meant to be rigged... but it doesn't include rigger adaptation. I am either to guess that the rigger cocoon comes with rigger adaptation inbuilt, or the makers behind that vehicle were having a brain fart when they determined which standard gear to give it. Someone help me make sense of the madness!

A lot of the printing formSR is seriously poor. Arsenal itself has a large section filling in all the mods that should have come standard with the core rulebook vehicles as described!
Check FAQ section of these boards for solutions. The editing is piss poor on a lot of books

Csjarrat, dude, they didn't introduce mods UNTIL ARSENAL. So why, pray tell, would a book printed BEFORE Arsenal, have mods listed?

That's like saying the soldiers in World War 2 were piss poor tacticians for not using GPS guided bombs.

apologies, have edited original.
there are bit of dodgy editing in a few books + contradictory rules but my comments weren't accurate for the question in hand.

It was, but the modification rules are part of Arsenal. It wouldn't make any sense to put those mods in SR4A, as that would basically ùean they'd have to print modification rules and the mod descriptions with it. If people want to use modifications, they buy Arsenal. If they don't, SR4A simplifies it and doesn't force it on them. It's sound both from a business and consuemr perspective.

edit: after edits in previous posts, this post may now make little sense. Oh well :p

To the OP, the modification slot cost represents a number of things. In this case, it is covering the extensive modifications of
removing the manual controls. Think like this: a car where the rigger is jacked in, the steering wheel turns, the pedals
depress, etc. That is part of the Rigger Adaptation installation :the components that let all that happen and allow the
rigger to control the vehicle using mechanism already in place. Removing the manual controls means you have to
compensate for those components that are no longer there, adding extra electronics, etc, beyond just what goes into
Rigger Adaptation(which also includes the sensory feedback systems for the Rigger, etc).
