O'Connor waved his hand in the air, as if physically batting away Clem's objection, "I was just messin' with 'im, but yeah, you gotta point. It takes balls to step to three dudes, though it you're gonna make in the Shadows you need to learn how to defend yourself better."

"Moral of the story" says Clem to Matty, "hit the gym and hope you don't run against bad guys like us." She then wipes the blood from her cut with her sleeve, all the while giving Matty a cold look, telling him that this was going to be the only compliment he was going to get from her.

"This isn't exactly a great life to be in - if you can get yourself set up so you don't have to throw your life on the line, well...  Not like you're any good to your family dead.  Some of us don't have the option, so count yourself lucky."

"Its alright kid. I know someone who can probably get you a steady job that doesn't require you to get shot at. I should probably let her know I'm alive anyway. Could someone hand me a com?" Johnny did not look excited as he started to dial up his fixer. "I'm sorry for calling so early Nanny but I think we need to talk."

Checking to make sure the safety was on, Sam slipped the roomsweeper under his jacket. "Hey, O'Connor--see if you can get a holster from your guy. Preferably something slimming," he added with a grin.

With your list made, you give Darrell a call, when you start reading it off to him he stops you after the second item, "Dude, I told you before, I ain't got that much lying around.  When you called I swept a bunch of stuff into a box and put it on the counter.  I spent the rest of the night poking around seeing if anybody new wanted you dead, and came up empty. I know this might be a blow to your ego omae, but you just aren't that important."  The dwarf yawns impressively into the imaging cam, "Look, if you don't need a ride, I am gonna rack out for a few.  Come get the box and lock up when you leave, I'll get the download later."

"I wish. What I'd really like is any details you can give me about my last job; seeing as I woke up in the NAN yesterday morning naked and with a wiped memory."

"Right, I'll hit you up in a day or two, Later.", O'Connor hung up. He mentally signed, *Is his stock really that low or is he still mad about the Azure's shooting up his shop a few weeks ago?* He shook his head, mentally chastising himself for doubting his closest (only) friend. He turned to Red, "Red, get me another ride. Clem and I will pick up the goods while the rest of you figure out a way to patch up Starlet, Bird Boy, and New Guy."

"Are we assigning nicknames now, Con?" asked Clementine. "If that's the case, I say we call you "machine gun". Seems fitting to me."

@Creidhne: "Some of my companions are insisting on breaking off to do whatever it is they need to do before joining back up with us.  Are you able to keep both groups covered if we don't move too far away from each other?"

"Checking something.  I told you that plan might not be wise, but I'll not make assumptions on this - I warn you, though, there might be a price and cash may not spend.  Outside of that, I can get in touch with my fixer about finding a doc, but we're a little light on funds here - might be I can trade an introduction for an introduction, but that doesn't help with the doc."  Fionn glanced at Clem.  "I think maybe Cuffs works better?"

O'Connor scoffed at Clem, "Nicknames have power in the Barrens. Most view it as a person's true self. Those that know the history of a person's nicknames have the cliff notes of their past. In any case, I've noticed a lot of you have been calling the tech-wiz Red after I named him so." A lecherous grin spread across his face as he leaned into Clem's personal space, "And I don't mind you naming me Machine Gun, think of all the ways I can twist the meaning."

"Oh, you think that was original, do you?  Been getting that one ever since I fragging came to Seattle.  Gets damned annoying, really."

"But we will know your nickname's true meaning, and that's enough for me" replied Clementine, a grin on her face. "Anyways, is there another vehicle we can take to get the equipment? The sooner I get more bullets, the better."

O'Connor was surprised that Clem did react more forcibly to his baiting, as far as he'd seen, she was nearly as hot blooded as he was. That didn't deter him though,  his grin grew more exaggerated as he leaned closer to her, "That don't matter. Once I'm done tellin' the tale, everyone north of Touristville will 'know' I had you in every position meta-humanly possible."

Clem lets out a laugh. "If someone is stupid enough to believe your stories, they're stupid enough to forget them the moment you leave their sight." She then shoves O'Connor out of her face and turns to Red "Any luck finding another vehicle?"
