Hey GM, would you have a problem with me changing my character to a mystic adept?We do have two mages on the team already, just FYI.
Its not a necessity or anything, I just thought it could give me a bit more utility in the long run. I will not be primarily a mage, however having the ability to cast a few spells could be invaluable at times.
Oh yeah, I realize we already have mages. I was just thinking that it ends up being a better use of my magic attribute. I promise not to step on any toes, it simply makes my character a good deal more flexible in the future.you would lose 1 magic point in adept skills, and anything above force 1 would do phisica/ damage.

I pack a parachuting of 10, infiltration of 13.

Well afaik Red so far is just barking at others and repeating what was said before. As soon as i get to the comp and post the character, i would love to pose a few questions myself and i would rather have them answered, then criticized by others.I do not criticize, my character does :P

He wants to get boots on the ground and start assensing random squirrels.

we have a crash side to investigate - more precise find a black-box and see if the cargo is there, if not then looking if there are tracks that we can follow.
What is it exactly that you want to comb the forest/mountains for? why the whole discussion? any military unit would know that they are stronger in a group then in small groups, if we need to comb the forest then many individuals would make more sense, if we expect enemies, then spiting up is a very bad idea. the exception would be scouts, who are sneakier and might get more benefits on their own as in a group - as Thrass so beautifully explained.

@Bewilderbeast Pardon my ignorance, but why a mirror and flexible wire?Line of sight is required for basically all magic, ever. I forget the exact wording in the rule book, but basically technologically-aided sight (scopes with vision magnification, night vision goggles, etc.) do not count for LOS as per magic rules; you need to see the target with your real flesh-and-blood meaty eyeballs, otherwise magic is a no-go.

we make a sound based notice check with -3 and gear works as usual (so select sound filter works against this penalty for example)
Select sound filter doesnt help in such situation. It would help you to notice predefeined groups of sounds. So You need to say:
Im seting my select sound filter for this groups of sounds (more or less specific): Gunshots, steps, vehicle engine human speech IDN what else. You may concentrate on one such group at a time, again saying which one. everything else would be filtered. It doesnt add any dices to roll...
Also spatial recognizer...helps you pinpoint the source of sound, but first you have to be able to perceive that sound to focus on it.

Since Aryeonos specifically said, the earpices help I assume, that the select sound filters apply to the situation, otherwise there would hardlybe any need to mention them specifically.
sHe could have meant, don't forget the +3 from your enhanced sound earpiece mod, but unless otherwise noted I will continue to assume the select sound filter was referenced and thus use them in my roll.
So basically it would be for sounds that are so obvious (for example a big explosion) we don't need to roll perception, but we would roll to locate where that came from. Makes sense. I'll edit my post consequently.
And yeah, the way I understand it Select Sound Filter would have to be set before picking up on the sound. It shouldn't help pick up on a sound per say, just filter out the other junk so it's easier to concentrate on one particular sound. I think it can also be set to warn you if a certain trigger is activated.

I'm not assuming we have binding materials handy, is all. I'm trying to find out if using an unbound spirit is feasible.Bineimg materials are standart issue, you have all you need.
Well if I recall correctly it takes karma to bind them, but I might bring up that it`s night 18 hours a day, so binding might be all together forgoable, but do keep track of your over moission expendatures, it comes out of your paycheck.

I can say Nina is pretty good at medicine, thanks to increased mental capacity, intensive training and natural talent, and also specializes on toxins.
She is also highly perceptive with four senses and in combination with K9 she is very good at tracking. She is capable of infiltration and pretty good with long arms/carrying modified hunting riffle. Standard athletic training, including diving and parachute. Also experienced in HtH combat, specilized in Wildcat MA.
Fenrir is hunter&killer. Also able to detect magical threat. Also...able to hunt its prey, scarred as hell, all the day, .

I've PMed our GM. Suffice to say, I think Omeed is very well and truly over-budget. I fear this type of game might be a little "advanced" for me. I fear I might have to bow out. And, yeah, with play-by-post this type of thing is very much the nature of the beast. But I figured I might as well be straightforward with all of you and tell you that I'm seriously considering quitting, mostly due to feeling like I lack the level of rule-mastery necessary for this particular game.

As I keep reading in the base rules, you dont need to make a roll for an encryption, but there is an interval that can be spent on the encryption. Othereise the threshold is the program rating x2.

I forget the Drain formula... is it really just number of services gained? I thought the spirit's Force had something to do with it. I'll hold off for now until I get back to the books. Also holding off on Binding rolls, since that will take 5 hours of ritual and the flight just started.
I have a bit of good news for you: your spirit doesn't have a 12 dice pool to resist your binding. The spirit's binding resist should only be twice its force, so in your case a 10 dice pool. So you can re-roll those 10 dice or drop the last 2 (whichever the GM is more comfortable with). Also, with Edge you should be able to spend a point to re-roll your misses (in your case it would be 7).This was a typo. Accidentally linked Omeed's rolls twice instead of the spirit's opposed roll. I actually did make the spirit's opposed roll with 10 dice, and yes, it actually did get 5 hits. The post is updated with the correct link to Invisible Castle. I really want to spend a point of Edge to re-roll the failures, will do that momentarily.

If we are to make teamwork multiple rolls would make this pretty chaotic, unless we decide who will roll final and who will contribute. Nina has quite high unaugmented DP, to make this short and quick, I offer Ill roll finals, everyone other roll contribution.

There is maximum number of dices you can add for teamwork...and that is 5 IMO.
Nico had to drop cargo, and this area is not an airfield it's a rocky uneven beach and you're being hit with 30 knot winds, make a simple roll for it.
The threshold for this sort of thing is rather small, I don't recall your dicepool off hand but you could probably just buy the hits needed.
One rigger have to roll, another don`t. Asking for special treatment is bad enought, but allowing it is even worse.

The nexi has a full compliment of programs for the job, the list is in the TriSeq Standard Issue Gear chummer file which I thought I disseminated a while ago, but I can put it up again if you don't have it.Red is Spec Op - so he has some knowlage in hacking, but not higher then a gang-hacker.
