I saw on these forms that some think adepts are weaker then cybered chars. But what about a Gun Bunny whos goal is to shoot things??
Also, is creating the char around just shooting a bad move? Like what else dose a high Agility leand it'self to?
Is Elf the best Gun Bunny race becuase of the Agility start at 2 with a cap of 7 (9)? 40 points for a 6 where as other races are stuck at 5 for that many points.

Yep - anyone with a decent cyberarm and a decent Pistol Skill can be a shooter.
Also, is creating the char around just shooting a bad move? Like what else dose a high Agility leand it'self to?
Agility can help you out with Melee, Throwing, and most Ranged Combat. Good for Infiltration, so he can be good at B&E and stealthy activities. He can also be good at Forgery. That's just for Agility.
So, a Cat Burglar/Art Thief that replaces the stuff that he steals with clever forgeries, that also happens to be good at shooting isn't a bad concept.
Being an Elf, you can also work on your Charisma skills and be quite the socialite to gain access to the rich and lazy.

For a true gun bunny a maxed full body agility is much much better and not that expensive if you can fit 2 restricted gear qualities in your quality list for Muscle Toner 4 and Suprathyroid Gland you only need a natural agility of 5 to max agility as an elf.

I actually did this for one of my characters just for fun. I don't know if they'll see the light of day in the group I play but i got 13 agility 7 in pistols. (+2 heavy pistols) that makes 22, then I put smartlink on it for 24. Then I had found something to push it a little further to 27 I can't remember what it was at the moment however, I managed to get 33 dice with my edge of 6 added to it with an Elven Character. XD So with a rank 1 in other shooting abilities it's a base of 14 dice for anything agility related since i put at least a rank one in them all. With most of my Karma ate up at this point I pretty much proceeded to get some other skills to help me out socially wise and then bought his gear. It was.... interesting to say the least. I think if I ever play it however it will be fun. xD
Mine was SURGE II, and Acceptional Attribute, I may have to go back and look at this Genetic optimization however.... o.O Heh.... I'm guessing it's bioware though which will make things a bit difficult because I made the character also an adept with 6 magic and just put the increase attribute option. xD

Did pretty much the same thing about a week or two ago, only that I gave him "heavy weapons" instead of "pistols". Add an Ingram White Knight with high velocity modification and some recoil compensation. Use tracers. Proceed to throw 25 (-uncompensated recoil x 2) dice in narrow FA bursts for 17P+net hits. Congrats, your enemies are now chunky salsa, and you didn't even have to use grenades. If you really want to you can also use stuff like APDS or Ex-Ex ammo, but that's just ridiculously expensive ;D

Pure adept is very bad. Cyber only will let you make a character who is good at pistols, but not the absolute best, while also being good at other stuff. Cybered adept will let you make a character who is the best at pistols, at the cost of being less good at things that aren't pistols.
The advantage to using natural abilities, rather than a cyberarm of awesome, is that it lets you break the 20 dice cap (if that optional rule is being used) and be better at agility skills that don't just use one limb, like Infiltration.
Take a look at my sig and compare the Ghost (a cyber-only pistol specialist) to the Gunslinger (a cybered adept pistol specialist) for example.

I find myself favoring mundanes for this kind of build. There are so many ways to get your dice pool up, and the sole advantage of the adept is a net gain of 2 dice (improved ability goes up to 3, vs. reflex recorders which only give 1 point of improvement to a skill). And this is assuming that the adept is an augmented one who has every advantage the mundane has, with improved ability added on top. In the end, it will be having 25 dice instead of 23 dice, or something - while the mundane's superior breadth will give him a definite advantage.
Augmented adepts are a better idea for close combat, where their potential advantages are much more significant.

Since all you really need is Improved Reflexes, especially if in a game using the cut-off rule of 20 dice in a dice pool, "pure" adepts work just fine. You don't even need to invest in Improved Ability to hit that mark, though it certainly helps a bit.

One trick ponies are usually a bad idea no matter what that one trick is.
That said, screw the numbers. Pick a race that you like. Choose a role that you'll have fun playing. Build a character from that. So what if your dice pool is a couple points smaller than an "optimized" one? It doesn't really matter in the end since 3 dice ~= 1 hit under most circumstances, meaning a variance of two or three dice isn't that big of a deal. The game is about having fun with your character and, ideally, combat is a rare occurrence on most runs anyway. Your better off having a well-rounded character than one who's only good at doing a single thing, and I guarantee that you'll have more fun playing a character you like rather than one that you put together just because it has slightly bigger numbers attached to it.

On the high Agility question - Agility lends itself to a lot of other skills - infiltration, locksmith, gymnastics, palming, escape artist, and forgery - as you can see, there is a lot of synergy between a high Agility and sneaky/covert ops types.

And almost every combat skill out there. A high Agility is the thing to get if you want to do serious damage, in ranged or in melee'. While 1/2 your Strength applies to damage in melee' (a 1:2 ratio), a high Agility will average you 1 additional net success 1/3 of the time, no matter what the range.

Thought it was worth mentioning the logic build with the mind over matter adept power meaning you use logic for all agi based tests. Then you max out logic, then you can do a lot of technical skills Was considering making a pixie infiltrator with this build using two hold outs for damage, concealment and chamelion coating and 10 logic for infiltrate, etc etc

Not a bad idea, if you go with one of the two races -- Pixie (35 BP) and the Nosferatu Infected (150 BP) -- that have a bonus to Logic. You'd really want to make sure you put the tech side to really good use, otherwise your 8 (12) Logic is going to be effectively wasted.

datasearch (legwork), hardware, electronic warfare, and software 6 and maybe one rank in first aid should have you in good stead then you can write all your programs, All you need to spend nuyen on is good comlink, couple of fake sins chamelion suit and holdout 10 bp tops. Oh and max your edge since you're a pixie. Then edge your program making hehehehehe. 15 ish dice 5 hits reroll with edge thats another 15 dice 5 hits. 10 hits yay!
