Hello everyone, this is my first post on this forum, and my first character for this forum as well. I couldn't find an introduction thread so I thought I might as well jump right into this.
The concept I've been rolling around in my head is a longshot considering most DM's steer clear from Infected in the first place. My concept so far is essentially a long standing Nosferatu that was turned in the early years in the awakening, so he has pretty good knowledge about the events during that time. But with the constantly changing environments and the awakening (He awakens into an Adept during this period) along with the Nosferatu natural tendancy to develop schizoid personalities, his mind dumped into itself and has multiple personality disorder.
The primary personality is a proficient hacker trying to scrub his life (Named Jack) together like every other up-and-coming shadowrunner, he's up to the times of 2070, and knows how things roll and how nuyen changes hands like every other blank and will be roleplayed as a regular shadowrunner that acts as though he was recently Infected. The second personality is a full blown combat monster adept, filled with no mercy (Named Alexander); Since all the modern futureshock landed in Jack, Alexander is a completely old fashioned person who will be chopped full of old english talk (easy to roleplay for me) and will act like a hopeless romantic with the ladies (mainly due to his cockyness as a combat monster), but ultimatly his over-confidence and lack of modern knowledge will easily outset his physical capabilities.
I myself as a player will enjoy this character alot, since I've recently started playing around with Matrix characters, and with some of the scripts I come up with for my agents the DM's told me to limit them to less than 10 lines. And playing the cyberjockey is always fun to roleplay, droppin' paydata and dumping Spiders. But also there's the situation with Alexander, who talks in old english, a merciless killer and combat monster, and likes to woo all the women; who will play completely differently than Jack. That I think is where I'll have the most fun roleplaying, since it's something that stands out in a cyberpunk world easily, and can cause problems for myself and others (which I know is bad, but hey, where you have problems, you have to find creative solutions).
Gameplay wise, I'll probably keep most of the stats on him around the natural (which most of them hang out around 3, which isn't bad) so it saves BP for the large amount of skills I'll need for the roleplay portion of his storyline. And Max out his Magic attribute and fill it with powers like Killing Hands, Combat Sense, and Magic Resistance; essentially anything that will make him both lethal and last a long time in combat (maybe Rapid Healing since it synergizes with his Regeneration Critter Power).
The Qualities I'm looking at are:
Positive:
Quick Healer - 10
Adept - 5
Martial Arts (level 4 Carromeleg) - 20 (I can justify him knowing it since he was around before the Awakening, and I think the bonus to surpise attacks would easily apply if Alexander runs right through heavy gunfire to attack an untrained squad.)
Nosferatu - 150 (independent from the 35bp limit)
Negative:
Multiple Personality Disorder - 20 (I'm fully aware this is a negative quality for cyberzombies, but it can apply to real people, and I easily justified it with the schizoid personality from Nosferatu personality. I mainly picked this quality since I want the change to happen in stressful situations (like combat) unlike deep cover, which has a condition, and it gives gameplay rules for the DM to work with and play around with)
-- And some qualities to equal the even 15 BP leftover in Negative qualities, would like some advice on this part, I was mainly planning to fill this up with "unaware" skills for Alexander tied to modern knowledge, which would allow him to have more knowledge for old history or active skills
I've already given a general idea about the skills, that Jack would be the hacker and Alexander focus on the physical skills, and if I zero out my qualities and limit attribute boosts to the naturals for Nosferatu, it will leave plenty of leeway room for my skill choices and equipment.
That's just my thoughts and was wonder what other people might think about it. So go ahead and tear it apart now
