Everyone had fun, so in the end I suppose things went well. But...I got distracted with some real life issues, and got my maps for the compound very last second, so I wasn't able to come up with anything before the game...was just coming up with room desciptions out of my ass. Creature stats ended up the same way, which I think is where I really messed up.
Long story short, my players all said they enjoyed it, and the one friend that used to play SR with me back in highschool said he had a blast, so I'll call it a win...me personally, I didn't have fun at all, but I learned a lot about the system and will be throwing something similar together for the future.
I think I gave the wrong impression with referencing Aliens though. Wasn't planning on putting a Giger Alien in, just wanted that feel of exploration, followed be finding a large number of really bad things. Reading the above comments though, I do like the idea. If/when I run this scenario in the future I'll come up with a reason for insect spirits to be involved.
What I ended up running with, was the "runners" were a corp strike force that were sent to investigate a compound in Russia that went off line. The corp they work for does a lot with satelite production, especially military grade satelites. What this facility was doing, is taking monkeys, adding cyber/bioware, and training them to be shot up into space to repair satelites. Somehow the monkeys, and some of the facility researchers became ghouls. Like I said, very seat of my pants, and I'm not very impressed with what I came up with, but I think there's ideas that I'll play around with.
