Another Combat Technomancer - Gunslinger Adept

Another in my series of making combat technomancers work thought pieces. This guy's background is not so fleshed out yet. Looks like kind of a mean-ish loner. He closest akin to a gunslinger/pistoleer adept, that can still provide matrix support to a team decker (or fill in with some sprite and and pre-edged puppeteering)  and Diagnostics up his cyberarm.  This version is an Elf, but an Oni version can be made pretty similarly with Edge 6 and more positive quality room.

Key feature is shooting dicepool: 10 Agility arm + 6 Automatics + 2 specs + 1 external smartlink + up to 6 Diagnostics (probably less)  = 25 dice with Limit of 10. With pre-edge 32, rerolling 6s and no limit.

Biggest pitfalls currently is defense tests/initiative. Character is not as optimized to drug use as most of my technomancers (though I guess Narco can be switched with Tetrachromatic Vision) to get a great bonus. I would consider replacing Otaku to Technomancer (probably not so important) and making space for Adrenaline Rush (to not have to use edge for initiative) or Revels in Murder (to be ok using edge for initiative and for shooting to kill) and Common Sense to take advantage of that Edge to avoid taking stupid actions.

Karma Expenses: 
24 on PQs, 10 on Strength, 4 on Complex Form, 12 on skills (not so efficient and some could wait until game starts to get with jack of all trades), -25 on NQs  = 0 remaining.

But now I am remembering a rule, unless it got errata'd, that limits chargen compex form number to Logic. So this character would be capped at 2... So that would require some changes....

While I prefer a cyberarm one-with-the-machine style, general Agility is just too useful. Here is an Oni version, perhaps a former gang courier.

It goes for muscle toner instead of a cyberarm, and has less Willpower. Character has 10 Agility generally instead of in arm, making those 1 point skills he is going to get a lot more efficient. It also gives the character access to Agile Defender, making defense a lot better. While having Edge 6 instead of 7, The character doesn't need the Lucky quality, and can fit in other qualities that take better advantage of that Edge (Revels in Murder and Adrenaline Surge).

Shooting dice pools should be the same. 

Character will round out skills in play. 

Fewer Complex Forms, Lower Willpower,  and Less Fade Resistance makes matrix support less handy and more gimmicky. Character will keep two registered machine sprites, one for his machine pistol, and one lower level floater used to diagnose random devices when needed and to add dice to complex form rolls.  For other matrix support, character can still compile a helpful crack sprite to help teamwork some tests and do some legwork with a decker, Static veil can be used keep a decker from accumulating Overwatch over time, and a Pre-edged Level 1, limit breaking Puppeteer assisted by a reigstered can be used for emergencies without risking too much danger to self. Character can pull off an assisted Resonance Veil in the future too. 

Karma expenses: 25 on PQs, 10 on Logic, 8 on skills, 4 on metatype, -25 on Negative Qualties = 3 remaining.

Complex Forms are limited to Resonance x 2 (page 252, CRB), Registered sprites are limited by LOG. All I see on the "Learning Complex Forms" section is that it cost 4 karma.

Oh you are right, dunno why they mention this limit only here and why it is resonance in the other case  :o Just the Technomancer being a mess as always.
